Kell was a Force-sensitive Echani male Sith warrior and Marauder hailing from his species' homeworld of Eshan. A member of the shadowy Sith Eternal, Kell was an imposing enforcer of the dark side of the Force with his own secret agenda, known to none but himself.


Biography

Kell was born on Eshan but sold by his mother to a cortosis mining company on Apatros, in the Outer Rim Territories, when he was old enough to work. Mine labor was hard, molding the young Echani into a hard teenager who grew into an even harder man. He was also subject to the racism of his fellow miners—all human, themselves—for his alien lineage, distinguishable because of his silver hair and eyes. The discrimination he faced sharpened the one thing the mines could not: his anger. And, as his anger grew, so too did his latent Force abilities, which grew stronger as every year passed.

Kell became a ticking time bomb. One that blew when one of the miners finally pushed him too far. In his rage, he unconsciously used the Force to collapse the mine shaft, killing the offending miner and several others and trapping Kell inside with their corpses. The collapse nearly killed Kell too. Trapped in the darkness, he was deprived of air, water, and food. But he reached his breaking point, he again tapped on the Force to move the rubble and free himself.

Once out, the surviving miners accused Kell of being responsible for the collapse and he was arrested and held in the nearby mining settlement. There, he had caught the eye of a Sith Eternal agent, who was passing through and sensed the disturbance caused by the awakening of Kell's Force powers. The Sith woman, enthralled at having found a suitable candidate for an apprentice, broke the young Kell out of prison and the duo fled the Apatros system for the Unknown Regions. Kell, tempted by the promises of his new power, swore allegiance to the Sith Eternal and agreed to be taught in the ways of the dark side by his savior.

The Sith training was grueling. Kell's Master, the Lady Yadra, broke his body and his spirit worse than any mine on Apatros. But, in so doing, she transformed him from a simple miner into a fierce Sith warrior. He learned to control his anger and instead use it as a conduit for the Force, which he proved to have quite the affinity for—especially for the dark side. When at last his training was complete, Lady Yadra left the Unknown Regions to continue scouring the galaxy for future recruits and Kell never saw her again. However, her lessons remained with him, particularly those about the Old Sith. Lessons he allowed to fill him as he set forth into the galaxy to impose his own will on both it and the Force.

Personality and traits

Kell was a tall (185 centimeters), broad-shouldered Echani with his species' trademark silver hair, which he wore loosely gathered behind his head. At age thirty, he weighed approximately 79 kilograms. Before he became a Sith, Kell's eyes were also his species' typical silver. However, years of immersion in the dark side of the Force stained his eyes a putrid gold. Occasionally, he grew out a silvery beard; though his face was shaved more often than not. He wore black Sith armor and a deep Sith cloak, complete with a hood, which he could typically be seen in whenever he was traveling on official Sith Eternal duty. He also had a simple black tunic for whenever he wanted to travel without being immediately noticed as a Sith.

Because of his appearance, Kell gave off the aura of a strong-silent-type. In spite of this, Kell was actually intelligent, cunning, witty, and caustic. He possessed a sharp tongue and was prone to sarcasm; yet, he could also be insightful and observant. Though he was officially a Sith Marauder, he had the mindset of a police detective and was able to string together clues and hunt down his targets with ruthless efficiency. He was petty, often jealous, and utterly self-serving—even his few acts of kindness were done in service of himself. His only goal appeared to be increasing his own power so that he would never be a slave to a Master again.

Powers and abilities

Armed with a double-bladed Sith lightsaber, Kell was a formidable and imposing Sith warrior. He was trained to use the seemingly impractical weapon to inspire fear in his enemies and to overwhelm them. However, even without this psychological weapon, Kell was a skilled warrior who could easily go toe-to-toe with a Jedi Knight or a Force-user of similar rank and talent. Against non-Force-sensistives, he was both terrifying and a butcher, mowing down all who stood between him and his goals.

He was also skilled in the use of the Force. He particularly favored its offensive applications, such as his use of telekinesis to throw objects or pick up his foes, and he specifically enjoyed using the Force to choke his victims to death or as an expression of anger. He could also project jets of Force lightning when the need arose, or apply the Force defensively as a shield to protect himself. Though his Sith Master, the Lady Yadra, was a talented Sith alchemist, Kell chose not to delve into the more arcane schools of Force use.

Though he possesses no particular talent for flying, Kell is at least a competent pilot, as he was trained to pilot certain vessels as a member of the Sith Eternal. He is also familiar with languages common throughout the Outer Rim, such as Huttese, due to his years on Apatros where such languages were as common as Galactic Basic.
