BIOGRAPHY
Ki was a typical child born on Recopia, just another kid on just another planet. The only remarkable thing about her birth was that it was 157 years ago. Born around 50 BBY, young Ki began showing signs of Force-sensitivity. Like other unfortunate children in that system born with a connection to the Force, Ki was kidnapped as a youngling by the Seyugi Dervishes, a fanatic order of mysterious Force adepts that roamed the planet in giant repulsorlift barges. The Seyugi were consumate martial artists, assassins and students of the Dark side. Raised by the sect and indoctrinated into the tradition of the Seyugi, Ki became, like many dervishes, a weapon for hire. She operated in the Mid-Rim, a devout Seyugi, a cruel and efficient killer with the face of an angel.
Then the Jedi took notice of the secretive Force assassins. The Seyugi had spread well beyond their system in the Core and their enigmatic assassinations and subterfuge could not be tolerated. The Jedi began to hunt the mysterious and deadly Dervishes until the sect was considered to be wiped out. Shortly before the Clone War, several hundred surviving Seyugi returned to their homeworld of Recopia to seek refuge. They froze themselves in carbonite on a remote island, guarded by a small number of Mallif monks who kept the secret of the frozen Dervishes, even from their fellow Mallif.
One of those frozen Dervishes, Ki, was smuggled away and sold by a corrupt monk. She became the prize of a wealthy Hutt crime lord, the carbonite-frozen relic displayed proudly. A resentful slave, eager to get back at his cruel Hutt master, released Ki from the carbonite and helped her escape.
Hibernation sickness was not Ki's only suffering after being freed from carbonite. The separation of over a century and a half from everything she knew tormented her. She had no sense of identity in a strange galaxy. Everyone she knew was dead (or still frozen). Nightmares of those she killed, coming to devour her haunted her every night. The Dark Side she once worshipped seemed an enemy, clawing at her. Living in a galaxy, a century and a half distant from the one she knew, left her depressed and lonely. All she knew how to was to kill and destroy. It was driving her mad.
She was desperate for help, and found it among her enemies from a century past. The Jedi.
Personality
Ki is in the process of cleansing the corruption Instilled in her by the dark ways of the Seyugi.
Ki refuses to draw upon the Dark Side, at the cost of denying herself the advantages it had offered her in her old life. She still struggles with the corruption inherent with the use of such power, and fears the effects of drawing upon that power. She focuses on seeking instead the Light.
The traits learned by the Seyugi that still server her are patience and control of emotions. She is often accused of having no emotion, but any close enough to her will see glimpses of her feelings as she allows.
In spite of her violent history and martial skills, Ki does not relish violence, at least not anymore. It is a means to an end, and used when necessary.

In spite of her violent background, Ki is quite level-headed and patient, making her a good negotiator.
