At last, a news story that didn't involve the latest scuttlebutt around celebrities and politicians Elora didn't give two bantha ticks about. "Tragedy strikes Thyferra, a prominent Inner Rim planet in the Independent Systems Consortium and the galaxy's only bacta supplier," Elora opened up, looking directly into the cameras and viewers at home, shoulders straight. "The trouble began only days ago, when our sources report that Thyferra's Cadir, Gyxik Mgaa, sent out an SOS to neighboring planets."
A picture of the Cadir, a Vratix, appeared on the screen behind the Pantoran, prompting her blue features to twist into a scowl, which she directed to someone off camera. Idiots. Elora was surrounded by idiots that didn't know how to do their job. "A picture of the cadir, not the Killik, you idiot," she muttered under her breath.
"That is the Cadir," came a whispered reply from someone off camera.
It took all the self-control Elora possessed not to roll her eyes. "That's a Killik. Just look at those mandibles." A moment of silence followed, and then the Pantoran's cheeks began to burn. "Oh. Oh." She cleared her throat, ran a hand across the front of her dress, and continued.
"Thyferra in grave danger. Cadir Xuxil has been kidnapped by Killik forces. Location unknown. Bacta supply in grave danger. Request aid ASAP—that's the desperate plea sent out by the Cadir of Thyferra, and just in the nick of time, too, as the Killik's forces showed up in masse. This is the Killik's third attack in recent weeks, and it would appear that they are far more organized than the galaxy orginally believed.
"Luckily for Thyferrans and displaced Firrerre citizens, the message of their Cadir did not go unanswered. While ISC and Hapan armadas battled above the planet, both Jedi and Sith forces fought side by side one another on the ground to secure the planet. Most notably, the Ambassador of Brentaal and the President of the ISC himself, Emryc Thorne, were present for the battle and, apparently, even participated in the scrimmage. Don't worry, Thorne fans, the dust might still be settling on Thyferra, but our on the ground sources report the President is alive and well, and so is Gyxik Mgaa, thanks to the Jedi.
"Scary times lie ahead of the galaxy should these attacks continue, but perhaps this Killik threat will put an end to the religious war between the Sith and the Jedi that has plagued the galaxy for years." Personally, Elora would take religious zealots over walking, talking cockroaches any day.
Special thank you to @SlagathorTheUnknown for giving me a nice tldr of the thread to make things easier. The thread was long, so I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff, but it's hard to include everything. I only read the DM posts. :)
