HoloNet News Killiks Denied Foothold! Hospital near Raxus destroyed after horrific discovery!

A few days ago, a stationary military hospital floating within the solar system of Raxus went mysteriously silent. Numerous attempts were made to contact the facility, but all went unanswered. When a security team was sent to investigate the hospital, they too fell eerily quiet, and all communications were lost. As the Killiks rage their warfare across the galaxy, including throughout Imperial Space, it was probably inevitable that Imperial Citizens would suspect that the infamous Insectoids were behind the dead silence now emanating from the once flourishing facility.

With the threat of the Killiks so intense, the Empire was quick to respond to the distress by deploying two active members of the Sith to investigate why the hospital cut all contact. Likely fearing the worst, Sith Champion Varyn and Sith Acolyte Nova were sent into the gaping maw of what might have been a horrific Killik infestation.

Unfortunately, all suspicions were proven correct when the duo discovered not only Killiks, but Joined, as well. Reports indicate that there were no survivors. Those who were not Joined were slaughtered by the bugs, patients and staff alike. Thankfully, the threat appears to have been eliminated, as the two Sith managed to utilize the power core to destroy the entire facility, leaving no sign of the threat in their wake.

Security forces are combing through what little remains of the hospital's fragments, floating through the space where the structure had once gleamed like a symbol of hope to the wounded. They confirm that there are no signs of survivors.

All is not grim, though. The outcome of failure in this scenario likely would have proved far more devastating for the people of Raxus, and indeed, the Empire itself. With the Killiks denied this foothold, the locals can be assured that they are safe for awhile yet. Funerals are being arranged by the families for the lives lost, despite the inability to recover any bodies. Perhaps that's for the better, though. Every remnant of the Killiks and their Joined above Raxus, is gone.
