Biography

____________________________________

Born to the slave markets of Nal Hutta the Twi’lek who would be named Kor’ez by his first and only owner was a rare and beautiful example of the Lethan subspecies with bright red skin and dazzling purple eyes. Shortly after his fifth birthday a tall and slender Human by the name of Tarsus purchased the alien to serve in his household.

Over the years of serving Tarsus Kor’ez was beat many times, along with the other slaves, being an object for their Humanocentric master to vent his frustrations upon. In time the young Twi’lek came to notice a strangeness around his master. The man emanated unease and rage as if a small storm raged within his skeletal frame. Once or twice Kor’ez even saw the man conduct strange blood rituals when he believed no one was watching. It wasn’t until the Twi’lek turned 10 that his master dragged him into his secret chambers and explained to him the existence of the Force as well as the power of the Dark Side. At first Kor’ez was confused about why the man who had treated him with nothing but contempt for years would now be instructing him. It turned out that Kor’ez had “perhaps some small talent” for the Force. Although Tarsus had no intention of making Kor’ez an equal he did begin training the slave to utilize his emotions to grow strong enough to act as Tarsus’ personal guard going forward.

By the time he was 13 Kor’ez, already large for his age, was accompanying his master everywhere from business meetings to shadowy gatherings of a group calling themselves the “Legion’s Vanguard”. They existed throughout the galaxy as spies and informants for a group called the Legions of Lettow who existed beyond known space.

Kor’ez continued his training and, after many years, Tarsus even began training his slave in the use of the lightsaber. However the slaves innate fear of others due to his status and past treatment made him weak and his spirit was easily broken. Tarsus would mock him frequently and it was clear the Human regarded the Twi’lek as nothing more than an object to be used and, eventually, discarded.

Recently the Legions of Lettow, now calling themselves the Sith Eternal, returned to known space and Tarsus was amongst a number of secret servants who travelled to greet them.

Perhaps Tarsus would have been greatly rewarded for his years of service but we’ll never know. The Human, perhaps feeling stressed at eventually meeting his masters after so many decades, was particularly cruel towards Kor’ez during the trip and shortly after reaching their destination he began beating the Twi’lek badly due to a simple spilling of a drink. Kor’ez, angry and frustrated, mixed with fear of meeting whatever Dark Lords Tarsus obeyed finally had enough. Seizing his masters lightsabers he struck Tarsus down without thinking.

Kor’ez expected to die.

Instead the Sith Eternal accepted him as a student of the Dark Side and began his training properly. Not the scraps that Trasus had thrown at him but the knowledge he would need to become a true devotee of the Dark Side.

Kor'ez has been studying at the Temple on Sullust for the last few years since his acceptance into the Sith Eternal Order. His training was largely slow and self-motivated as few of the tutors had any real interest in training an Alien who had formerly been a slave whilst many of his fellow students considered themselves above him. However things have taken a turn recently as Darth Malicia accepted him as her personal apprentice.

Personality

__________________________________________________

Born and raised a slave Kor’ez is, at his core, fearful. Despite being freed he fears the master's hand being raised against him. He fears being sold off as an object. He fears being discarded as a useless tool. Due to all of this he struggles with his Dark Side training.

Amongst his fellow Sith the Twi’lek often spends time alone running through lightsaber forms and velocities with startling skill and yet, for his strength and talent, when pushed by a fellow Acolyte he will more often than not fold.

Yet beneath this timid loners shell is a heart of hatred. A being hungering for power, for strength, for the will to crush others and with the defiant promise that he will never be a slave again. It is only at the most drastic times, in the heat of battle or when his back is up against the wall that Kor’ez allows his shackles to loosen and a glimpse of the promised sith beneath can be seen. If only briefly.

Somewhat amusingly to his peers the Twi’lek as a Loth-cat as a pet. A vicious and nasty piece of work called Kala whom Kor’ez adores.

Powers and Skills

__________________________________________________

  • Lightsaber Swordsman - Of all the training Kor’ez had received so far it is his love for lightsaber combat which rings most true. The acolyte he has already begun studying a wide array of forms. He continues to build up his skills by training with a single lightsaber, saberstaff and Jar'Kai whilst tackling all of the Seven Forms.
  • Dark Side Novice - Perhaps it is because of his history as a slave but Kor’ez is often too timid. Although this innate fear can be useful it also limits his progress in Dark Side studies. His studies have been rather slow due to his focus on Lightsaber training over the years.
  • Powerful Force Connection - For all his weakness and lack of experience the Twi’lek has a naturally strong connection to the Force.
  • Fighter - Trained for years to be Tarsus’ bodyguard Kor’ez is experienced with a wide array of fighting techniques and weapons.
  • Pilot - As his master’s personal guard it was often Kor’ez’s job to fly Tarsus to wherever hee needed to go. With his induction into the Sith Order he has been learning how to fly combat class vessels.

@Lazy Swordsman please remove Force of Will as an ability for your char. As referenced in the lore article special notes section, this can only be learned from the Kravos Holocron. Currently my char is in possession of said holocron and the only one that knows this ability and the means to teach it.
