Kotii Solus's Beskar'gam

The common T visor shocktrooper design is what the likeness of Kotii's armor. Black Hand, as he is known as, has armor composing mostly of durasteel plates. The only pure beskar among his set exists as a pair of vambraces melted down from his ancestors armor and reforged for him. The rest of his plates he has had for some time mostly. However this set has been remade to be a more fitting example to his past ancestors. Both to show his status of accomplishments and befitting his place as Alor of House Solus, Kotii has two Jaig Eyes on his helm. A coating of scatterweave keeps most of his armor black except for the rare sigil of the Werda Verda and House Solus. A combat kama is worn by Kotii as, since having armor around his legs and crotch is less than desirable especially for a man practically living in his armor.

A mix of red and black paint scheme has been adopted by the Mandalorian to keep with his clan colors. The clan's badger sigil is visible on the left shoulder plate. Beskar was not in grand supply even for his clan and neither were advanced armor abilities. For this reason Kotii seeks to add to his own arsenal and expand the capabilities of his armor. Wisely placed pouches and belts are often worn to distribute weight and a harness is added to the suit help with climbing needs.

Advanced vision modes allow Kotii to wear this armor in the dark or track his targets by body temperature. This is linked to the jetpack missile on his back though his is sometimes not obvious from the front. The black paint scheme is actually due to scatterweave being daubed across the armor. A black bodyglove and incorporated thermal undsuit allows increased survivability in the event he gets close to fire or ice in either extreme.

Legality

Mandalorian armor, though rare, is not illegal in most places. That said, wearing a full face helmet in public spaces is frowned upon, and often illegal in many core worlds, especially in or near government facilities- not to mention that many identification cards in various systems require a full face photo. This drives many strict adherents of "the way" to operate exclusively on the fringes of the galaxy.

Intent

A Mandalorian armor design associated with Kotii Solus.

Restricted Tech
It's customized Mandalorian armor associated with a particular individual lore-wise. The jetpack missile has a few restrictions.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium Armor

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)

  • Head: Front and back of the head and neck.
  • Torso: Chest and abdomen .
  • Back: Upper and lower back.
  • Lower Arms: Hands, wrists and forearms. (beskar)
  • Lower Legs: Feet, shins and calves, knees.

Functions

Function 1: Vision Modes (Helmet)
  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light OR thermal vision modes.
  • FC?: Yes
Function 2: Scatterweave
  • An incredibly rare and expensive material. Scatterweave is a coating that reflects very little light, making it extremely useful for sneaking at night. It also "scatters" the wearer's heat signature, making it difficult for automated sensor systems or thermal visors to get a precise fix on the wearer's location without intense scans.
  • FC?: No
Function 3: Thermal Undersuit
  • Thermal undersuits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat or cold, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.
  • FC?: No
Function 4: Jet Pack
  • Jet packs are back mounted units used by elite troops increase their mobility on the battlefield. The jet pack's maximum speed is 50 kph and it carries fuel for up to five minutes of continuous flight (flight mode), but can also be fired in short bursts triggered by jumping (combat mode). The wearer can control the system to switch between modes and/or disengage it from their armor via wrist controls. These packs are cumbersome, adding an additional 8kg for the average human (larger individuals will have heavier jet packs to support their weight). While the fuel is stable enough not to explode, direct hits from weapons can trigger the system inadvertently, after which it is rendered useless.
  • FC?: No
Function 4: Jetpack Missile
  • Mounts a single-shot homing missile on top of the user's jetpack, which is powerful against vehicles, smallcraft, and massed targets . To fire effectively, the user would need to bend their torso forward so the missile is pointed at the target. The user can use a separate HUD function to lock onto targets, which would take three seconds to do so, or the missile can be dumb-fired. This weapon has a range of 500 meters and has simplistic guiding system, although this weapon is ineffective against individuals.
  • FC?: No
