KYUZO WAR SHIELD​

Kyuzo War Shields were wide-brimmed metal hats worn by the Kyuzos of Phatrong. Originally designed as a headpiece by the inhabitants of the Kwaidan Peaks to protect travellers from monsoon rains, it was adopted as a more practical item as the years went on. Soon these helmets were capable of being used as both an improvised defence, and an improvised weapon, should one need a bludgeoning implement for both melee and ranged combat. Simply by tilting one's head, one was capable of protecting their most sensitive areas, and it allowed for a unique variety of manoeuvres and uses, especially as more and more Kyuzo leave the heavy gravity of their worlds, and find themselves in worlds where the gravity lightens themselves and their seemingly innocuous headwear. The hats could be thrown as weapons, their sharp edges enabling them to be quite dangerous.​

• Head: Resting on top of the head as a wide-brimmed hat, the wearer need merely tilt their neck in a direction, to shield their head and neck from harm with this shaped piece of thick-plated Durasteel.
