Vander probably shouldn't have been surprised that the torch got passed to him. Stiffnos cued it up well enough. Of course, Vander only had about fifteen seconds to convince this woman of this plan, and that... was a set up for failure, wasn't it?

Steady work for you. We have plenty of money and can provide you with near-constant work, he said. Doesn't have to be all of your contacts, either, he said.

The Dervish's arm finally fell to her side.

Then I guess its time to see what you're made of. No weapons, she said, standing to her feet and descending down the steps from the throne. Her own weapon was holstered at her side, and she moved toward them, stopping at the bottom of the steps for a moment.

She paused long enough for the two to put together what was happening, and then she darted forward. She moved with impossible speed, almost unable to be seen she was so quick. Even with the Force, Vander barely saw her moving, her strike coming in to hit Caerllion in the chest hard enough to send him flying back.

[Caerllion of Cyfnos]

While Caerllion watched Corax talk with Dervish, he felt the urge to grimace how little the human was saying. It could have been terrible, but it could have been far better. However, it wasn’t the Champion’s fault. They were working with a very short time limit right now. The dude deserved a prize for telling at least coherent words in less than fifteen seconds.

After Corax finished, the Dervish dropped her arm. Caerllion was sure that it probably had some meaning, but he didn’t know what it could be. The other assassins that were around them remained without moving. The Annfyn concluded that it wasn’t a sign for them to start an attack.

It became clear when the woman stood on her feet and pronounced her decision. The Annfyn stared wide-eyed when the Dervish rushed toward him. He had only time to use the Force to block the kick, but even doing that he was forced some steps back. Caerllion stared at her, his eyes shining red.

It became a test of strength then. Good, he could deal with it.

With a movement of his right hand, the Annfyn sent a blast of concussive energy toward the Dervish. It would be so strong that, if she couldn’t protect herself, the woman would be sent flying back to her chair. The rule was no weapons, right? Then, he could still use his Force abilities.

[Vander]

Vander may not have been much for the politics and smooth talking that some of the other Sith did, but this was actually much closer to his preference: no mincing words but just getting straight down to the point and all on a dime's notice where time was against you.

She was upon them in a moment, and Vander had a sudden feeling that he was positively outmatched. The assassin woman was quick beyond anyone he had ever seen fight. It was stunning and he would have taken a few moments to admire it if he could have.

Unfortunately, there was no time.

The woman seemed to almost glide out of the way of the attack sent by Caerllion, and it was clear that she was impossibly fast, closing back in again and sending out an attack that would once again crack Cyfnos's jaw if he wasn't quick.

For Vander's part, he launched in at the woman's side, sending a strike of his own at her only to have her whip her head to the side in no time, sending a - fortunately - only half power hit toward his side.

He used the Force to buffer the attack, but it still felt like getting hit by a freight train, sending him sprawling backwards in short order. Perhaps Stiffnos would be able to sneak his own attack in in that split second's moment.

[Caerllion of Cyfnos]

Caerllion watched the woman evade his concussive blast as if it was nothing. He barely had time to admire her fast movements and the Dervish had already got close to him again, prepared to punch his jaw. Why did people seem to have an obsession in punching him there? Does he look punchable?

He only had time to move out of the way by jumping to the right, with the Force increasing his agility. Only this way to be fast enough to match her movements. The combat training of the Dervish was really good.

Then, Corax decided to help him. Finally! He had started thinking that the human was killed by one of the other assassins when he wasn’t looking. The Champion attacked her, but the Dervish had easily blocked most of the damage that he could have caused. It was really concerning.

However, it was an opening that allowed Caerllion to act. With the woman distracted trashing Corax, the Annfyn released another concussive blast. This one was large than the previous one, being more difficult to avoid.

[Vander]

Vander had been hit by stun bolts that were almost this hard, but he pushed himself up just in time to see Stiffnos sending another blast toward the Dervish.

This one managed to strike the Dervish, sending her flying backwards into the wall, although she managed to right herself before hitting the floor. She seemed to stop. Perhaps she was satisfied with what she had seen or perhaps she was just wary of actually getting herself killed in this fight.

You are not without skills of your own, she finally said, and Vander just... glanced at Stiffnos. This all seemed... real weird.

He gave the slightest of shrugs at Stiffnos, still nursing the bruise to his chest and grimacing through the pain.

We will make an arrangement, she said and just... turned to start walking away.

Vander moved over closer to Stiffnos and muttered quietly so that only Caer could hear. So... that was weird, right? he asked.

[Caerllion of Cyfnos]

The Annfyn smiled when his attack collided against the Dervish’s back and sent her flying against the wall. Finally they were having some success in this fight. How he would wait for her to fall on the floor and use some more of her magick to bind her body, then Corax would be able to finish it…

And the woman gracefully landed on the ground.

Typical. After the way that this fight started, it was obvious that she was going to be able to fall with the grace of a loth-cat. Caerllion stretched his hands, preparing to launch a new attack.

He stared wide eyed when the Dervish announced that they were going to make an arrangement. It made no sense, but he wasn’t going to complain. The Annfyn was certain that he would be incapable of hitting another blast at her.

“Definitely.”he whispered at Corax, before pulling a small bacta patch from his pocket and giving it to him. “For your chest.” he learned a long time ago to always carry one of those with him when going on missions. Then, he turned to look at the Dervish. “Ma’am, is this arrangement being the one that we offered or are you going to propose a new one?”

[Vander]

Vander was... surprised. Maybe he shouldn't have been, but he was. It was as abruptly that it started as it was over, and they... had an agreement? He had no doubt it wouldn't be exclusive, but even an alliance was something.

One of my people will draw up a long term contract. Until then, make yourselves comfortable in the guest room, she said, motioning toward a door off to the side.

Vander looked at Stiffnos, more than a little confused. Thanks, he said as he took the offered patch and moved to patch himself up. It seemed time would tell what became of their new... alliance.
