Gareth quickly but quietly made his way towards the stairs, approaching the two men silently just as they finished hitting poor Covax, however the Miralukan wouldn't give them much time to change targets and fire at the droids as he called upon the force...The energy that surrounded all lifeforms, used and revered by the jedi...And then proceeded to use said energy to yeet one of the guards off the wall, followed by a quick charge and a spartan kick aimed towards the other one before he could turn around and make sense of why his partner fell off the wall before sharing his fate. While a fall from that height wasn't always lethal, the Miralukan heavily doubted the two thugs would remain conscious after that, no way they would land right after what he did to them.

However, Gareth quickly realized that Covax was out and the five droids wouldn't last forever, so he decided to quickly call the other remaining fifteen to attack the remaining forces over the wall. This was done with two goals in mind: First, the droids would attack, try to grab Covax and then fall back if they weren't winning the fight, which would hopefully prevent the man's death. Second, it would prolong the distaction that Gareth needed.

With those 15 other droids added to the fight and returning fire, the guards probably didn't have time to look far away and notice Gareth on the wall, giving Gareth the oppotunity to start going the other way in search for a way to get from the wall into the palace, his stance low as he sneaked away, always grateful of the fact that he had been given beautiful fists to punch his problems away instead of carrying bulky things like blasters or armor, being light on his feet and silent was always a plus when it came to operations of this type.

Karina moved with a deftness exceeded only by Preef, cutting across the hallway and slashing through the second guard’s throat. She wore light armor, and while that gave her a significant edge in speed, it left her vulnerable. One shot from a rifle could fatally wound her, so she knew she had to play this mission safe. What she didn’t realize was that the first guard she’d stabbed was still alive, that the spatter of his blood was only a show, and that she was about to die.

Her back had been turned, but in her periphery view, she could see Aska moving into action. She shouldn’t be. Not when Karina had it handled. But only a split second later, as a sedative dart hissed through the tight corridor, she understood what had happened. The guard was still alive. Karina had been sloppy.

As soon as the first guard's bolt hit the second one's gut, Karina dove to the side. She didn’t bother trying to turn or get a hit on the first guard, she just needed to dodge his next two shots. Her cloak billowed in tandem to her movements, hopefully enough to confuse the poisoned, bleeding guard, and she leapt for the floor. If she played this right, both bolts would scream past her harmlessly, but clean through her cape.

Which was a shame. She’d just had it cleaned.

If it worked, and Karina was flat on her ass, she would turn to Aska. The woman had finished the job in killing the guard, saving Karina’s life in the process, and that was a debt she couldn’t repay in credits. It was a blow to her pride, but she was grateful—not that she’d show it. “I had it handled,” she replied, rising to her feet, but not without taking Aska’s hand.

With the hallways cleared, the two of them would meet Preef at the main blast doors into the penthouse. With a lock made of beskar and neither of them really having the means to break it, Karina supposed they’d have to get in the old-fashioned way: by blowing it up. She grinned. It wasn’t a Syndicate mission without something exploding.

What do you think, boss?” she asked Preef. “Any other ideas?

As he finished off his part of the defensive measures, Preef turned towards his two companions and displayed a proud smile. "Legends of Nar Shaddaa" he called them and he meant it. This crew, whoever would come out of it alive since he didn't hear much chatter over the comms of the other team, would go into the books as the best non Force sensitive crew in the galaxy. Killing atop honcho of the Hutt Cartel without lightsabers and the Force. Kriff, karking legendary.

"I sure as kark can't pick a physical lock, so Aska-" he nodded in her directed, "-blow it up." Next he motioned for Ines to follow as he moved further down the corridor to find a spot that would keep them safe from an explosion. He kept alert to his surroundings, just in case their little skirmish had alerted the building to an intrusion on the penthouse level, but even if he hadn't.. it was time to cue in the rest of the team. "Gareth, we're on the penthouse level. What's your team's status?"

The Mirakulan's group had quite the boastful persona's and yet Preef hadn't heard any of them either receive of give instructions or comments over their own encrypted commline. Neither Pellios (@Darasuum), Valen (@Nor'baal ) or Covax (@Taz) and honestly Preef feared the worst. Had he send them to their deaths trying to find a way into the palace from below?

The first guard wouldn't get a chance to react at all, yeeted off from the tower without ceremony. What Gareth would note, however, was that the guard didn't scream as they were yeeted - instead there was an indignant beep before it was too far for him to clearly hear from it again. Second guard spun to face Gareth in a way that was entirely impossible for most sentient organic beings, spinning 180 degrees at the waist and trying to take a shot at him.

Fortunately for the miralukan enforcer, it's reactive shot was fired off to one side as the second guard was kicked before it could complete it's turn. What Gareth would be able to deduce from both brief encounters was that the guards were not organics at all but, rather, IG-88 assassin droids with restraining bolts fitted, pressing them into guard duty. With both of the two guard droid tossed from the tower, they were unable to pursue Gareth despite both being still operational (though barely) due to the fall damage. Instead they would focus fire on the advancing droids, their own weaponry and programming superior but their current condition weighing against them.

As Gareth continued along the wall he would find himself the left side of the tower. Thankfully, the majority of the guards were on the right side of the tower so he was able to get a better look at the compound. In the middle of the circular curtain wall around the complex, a duo of narrow bridges extended from towers at the Eastern and Western points. Both bridged connected to the main tower of the complex approximately halfway up the building.

One each bridge another of the IG units stood guard.

**

Aska's dart would find it's way across the hallway but from her distance and casualness regarding the issue before, the dart managed to hit the guard but not in the exposed section of his neck. Instead it would impact his own light armour near the shoulder, scratching it audibly and catching the man slightly off guard. The distraction wasn't enough, however and it came too late.

Ines would get hit by one of the blaster bolts to the back, the bolt exploding against her back and light armour, an instinctive turn the only reason it was a glancing blast that would burn like hell rather than blast a hole through her. The second shot was entirely off target however, hitting the wall, as Aska was finally able to get off an effective shot.

The door itself could and would be wired with explosives easily enough. Behind the door a very panicked Hutt did its best to entire the code phrase it had memorized into the terminal as it sat behind it's desk, far from the door within the penthouse office.

Tulos, you don't get to skip a round then autohit with two different weapons from a starting position not actually within direct sight. Feng Mian, the damage to Ines is relatively minor in this instance - she now has a rather bad burn the size of her palm around her left kidney on the back. This will impact athletic actions so please write accordingly going forward

The door was blown open and Preef immediately walked through with his peacemaker raised. He spotted Durr the Hutt entered a code on his terminal and without waiting another heartbeat he pulled the trigger and fired a single shot right at the Hutt's body.. he knew that despite it being a heavy blaster bolt, it wouldn't kill him outright. "Durr!" the rodian yelled, "Don't move!" Preef advanced with his peacemaker aimed directly at the Hutt.

He was alert to his surroundings just in case more turrets or guards popped up out of nowhere. Undoubtedly the two legends present with him would be able to take care of such distractions as well. No, Preef Callo, Preef Zaa Fenn, had the evil Durr the Hutt dead to rights and they all knew it.

In a way Preef didn't feel like the crymorah boss today. A couple of years ago, before he helped resurrect the Zaa Fenn Crime Family, he had wanted to turn his Bounty Hunting License into a Sector Ranger badge. Yes, today he felt like he was at the head of a posse of sector rangers finally delivering justice to the culprit behind the AMS virus and its outbreak. He, Preef Callo, seemed to be the only one concerned with this. Most Sector Rangers had vanished from the Rim worlds, focusing their efforts on deluded quests against the Force-sensitive Sith or becoming regular city cops like CorSec and the CSF.

He stopped a dozen feet shy of the Hutt, "Your time is up."

Gareth took a last "look" at the two assassin droids before going on his way through the wall, realizing that it was a good thing to go undetected now that he realized why Covax had been hit with such accuracy, as he stealthed his way through the wall Gareth listened to Preef's message as he asked for his group's situation, well, he was not surprised Preef was still alive, Gareth could just hope the Rodian's group was doing better than his though.

Letting out a sigh that Preef might have heard, Gareth whispered into comms "Well, I'm making my way there but this has turned into a one man operation on my part. Turns out the guards were bloody IG assassin droids, had to use the ones you gave me to pull Covax out ot the scene before they put even more plasma shots on him...Just be careful so you aren't surprised if the bodyguards have crazy good aim and spin in unnatural ways, will you?"

Gareth eventually did notice the IG guards in the distance, if he kept walking that way he would be spotted, no doubt...that's why he decided to apply the force in a different way, force cloak, the ability to make himself much less visible, it was an ability Gareth did fancy since sometimes syndicate scum needed to sneak around or run away, in this case, it would be the former.

Slowly but surely Gareth moved towards the closest tower there was while concentrating on the force to make it so the IG droids could not spot him, walking very slowly and carefully as he understood the drawbacks of the ability, Gareth stopped before getting so close the droids could actually see him regardless of the force, deciding to do something else: Instead of walking, Gareth calmly grabbed the edge of the bridge and hung from it (taking the eastern side so the one on the western side would be totally out of view) and started advancing going along the ledge, still using the force to cloak himself, not really going fast enough for it to not be convincing.

While the force cloak was not good enough to hide Gareth if someone is looking directly at him, going along the edge meant that he was mostly out of view by default and certainly not on the path that the droid would be focused on guarding, and a side glance would probably not be enough to tell that he was there.

If the droid noticed when Gareth passed right by it, the Miralukan would reach for it's leg and use a very powerful short ranged version of disable droid, if not, well, he would keep going along the wall until he was behind the IG droid, climb up carefully and silently and go inside, not dropping the force cloak until being completely out of sight.

The explosion rocked the upper levels of the Hutt palace, shrapnel of durasteel scattering in every which direction, but like the champions of justice they were, the legends of Shaddaa could not be deterred. They had come so far, their progress on the inside facing little resistance. It was as though fate wanted them to succeed, wanting Durr’s belly pressed to the floor with a blaster bolt in the back of his oversized skull to compensate for the millions of lives that he had inadvertently brought to a premature end. And so through the smoke and fire, three shadows soon developed the features of an avenging team of mercenaries with only one end result in mind.

Preef, the celebrity that he was, fired off the first round aimed at the Hutt himself. Undoubtedly, the clone was impressed at the speed of the Rodian’s trigger finger though she silently pondered that if one day, his throne may be hers. Perhaps in the future, should the circumstances allow, she may get the opportunity to test herself against the legendary Preef Callo. Then again, their current situation held it’s own tests.

Directly before them was the slug responsible for the virus that plagued the galaxy. It was by his hand that Poffo Sauvage had nearly lost his life in the underworld of Coruscant. It was Durr the Hutt that had unknowingly gifted Trench the virus that would be used to infect her own twin sisters in the very same lab that she had been created. It was this overgrown bantha turd that had inadvertently led to the vaporization of Matou, save the handful of slaves that she and a few others had managed to sneak off world before the Hutt’s turned their cannons on their own base. Then came Gareth’s reply through the comms. Covax was down, needing to be carried away from the battle. Her brother in arms, yet another casualty this sack of shit had inflicted. Gritted teeth, SE-45 aimed at Durr as she approached on Preef’s left, it took every ounce of self control she had to not simply finish him off and steal the glory of this kill from her employer.

Fortunately, she had a distraction to divert her rage. As the smoke of the explosion began to clear, the clone spotted an IG assassin unit standing at the corner of Durr’s desk as it levelled it’s blaster on the invading trio. Aska was quick, snapping the DX-2 from her offhand holster and taking aim before delivering a trio of shots aimed for the droid’s chassis before the IG could protect it’s master.

”Hurry up and kill this son of a bitch,” Aska growled, anger near boiling over as she stared directly ahead at their target. ”...before I do it for you,”

As the charges were armed and detonated, Karina shielded herself from the ensuing blast, watching as the doors shrieked and caved like a spice mine on Kessel. In this moment, she felt invincible, weightless. Like nothing could touch her, and nobody in the world could keep her from this score. But when she climbed to her feet, staring into the thick haze of smoke and broken plaster, there was an odd sensation in her back, an ache. She touched a finger to the spot, only to feel a sharp stab of pain.

She’d been burned. Worse, shot. Karina had thought she dodged the first guard’s blaster bolt in time, but clearly, she’d been kidding herself. She wondered how deep it was, or if it was fatal—but she was still standing, so why did it matter? As long as she could hold a weapon, then she could continue this mission to its end. That was how it always worked.

Karina grit her teeth and, clutching her blaster like it was an extension of her body, she aimed it into the gray haze where the door had once been. She sped inside but kept her distance, knowing her injury wouldn’t give her the agility needed for a close quarters fight. Still, she was precise.

The second she saw a guard, Karina stabilized her blaster with both hands and took aim.

On first glance, it looked to be a Mandalorian, but she knew better. She didn’t even need Gareth’s warning to know she was looking at an IG assassin droid. The guard had the same spindly build, with too long arms and a helmet that didn’t quite shine like beskar. Karina knew, given her experience in the field, and she understood they couldn’t be given a chance to react.

She fired a shot directly into the droid’s head, where she knew would be its weakest point. Then she did it again, and again. Even if the droid’s helmet could hold up against her first bolt, it certainly wouldn’t survive the next two. Or so she hoped. If things didn’t pan out, well—she had a good run.

Dying alongside Preef, and these other Nar Shaddaa legends, wouldn’t be such a terrible way to go.

Durr the Hutt had prepared for his base to be raided since the day he had arranged for the AMS virus to be created.

He had known then that someone could seek him out in some misguided attempt to force him to pay for his crimes against the Galaxy. That was why he ensured that his base was patrolled by roaming packs of those infected by the AMS virus, hungry for the flesh of the living. And those infected were supported by the only thing in the Galaxy with less compassion than Hutts themselves; IG unit droids fitted with restraining bolts to ensure their absolute devotion to him and him alone.

And all of that preparation had been designed to face people attacking his base head on - and all of that preparation was designed for people with a shot far slower and far less accurate than Preef Callo. Durr roared in pain as the blaster bolt caught him in the upper chest, sending him falling to the ground in an impressive display of rolling blubber and hidden muscle. Blood, bile and puss oozed freely from the blaster wound as the Hutt clutched at it.

"Callo uba solae hecebicpaee echuta! Coo woy uba canta uba doth? uba doth tanea um wa pii nei, Callo! Wa kopiuah see koumihe biw mah hhana!"

His overt bodyguard in the corner tried to defend him but it's optics had been affected by the blast, allowing Aska to get the drop on it and shoot it three times before it could fully recover. It staggered back as the hits registered and ceased to function as it slumped back against the corner of the room. A whirling sound from within the droid would alert Aska to the fact that it was attempting to divert power around some of the damage she had done to it.

The bodyguard he had hidden within a decorative suit of armor for the express purpose of being an ambush was foiled. Whether it was by the oddly fitting armor or the sheer skill of Ines it didn't matter - the shot fired directly into it's head managed to almost destroy it but the subsequent attacks were enough to ensure it could not change it's processes to deal with the damage.

Behind the desk the escape hatch had managed to open but Preef's shot had caught Durr before he could push his bulk down it. The hatch would expose a shute that led down with seemingly no end in sight.

**

As Gareth unknowingly emulated the exploits of a super spy named after a reptile that slithered across the ground, he would find that the droids he was being so cautious about didn't seem to notice him but they didn pause as though receiving direction from somewhere else. At the same time both IG units froze up before resuming their walk, this time heading for the central building themselves as well.

Further down the building, Gareth would be able to see a large set of doors opening within the centre of the no-man's land between the walls and the main tower. They would look like silo doors opening, the bottom of them deep underground but with a set of emergency ladders either side of the now open silo.

From his perch he would be able to see the top of a ship down below.

The droids would not impede his progress as they reached the edge of the building and began to open fire. Not on Gareth but onto the Infected below, taking great pains to eliminate each and every infected that came anywhere near to the silos first.

Things had been going well so far, sure, he had lost his droids and his squad, but this really just boosted his ego as he had been taking care of his part pretty much on his own with pretty good results, getting deep inside the Hutt's palace with nothing but a distraction was quite a good feat, if he said so himself.

Eventually, Gareth would be able to take a better "look" at the silo doors that were opening and how the assassin droids were taking care of the infected that tried to get too close to it...And all the gears inside the Miralukan started turning...The fucking slimeball was gonna try and get away!

Now that couldn't be allow, Gareth would certainly not allow it...In fact he was planning on scaring the slug shitless. Gareth thought for a moment about what was the best course of action in this situation before deciding to sneak behind the droids who were totally focused on shooting at the infected.

There were many techy related tricks he had learned since he became an outer rim scumbag, they came in handy when dealing with the many droids of Nar Shaddaa, and technometry was one of them. Killing the droids would be so easy right now, but he probably would regret it as they were taking care of those infected getting to the silo, not only that, the Hutt would know something was going on if he was in danger on his way to the ship.

Instead, he touched both of the droid's shoulders, the force moving around them as their programming slightly changed, they now believed Gareth was allowed to be in the palace...And that he was allowed to go to the ship "Keep up the good work boys, love seeing those infected heads pop...Not literally, though, can't really see shit." The Miralukan told the droids with a shit eating grin before heading to the ship, stealthily and putting up the force cloak once more if he saw someone else or got the attention of too many infected or not so stealthily if everything was clear, he would get inside that ship one way or the other.

Knowing it was safe and the Hutt wounded and cursing him out in Huttese -which Preef could only barely understand- the rodian closed the distance between himself and his target and pulled the handle to close the escape hatch. He kept his blaster aimed at the large slug, but they both knew that Durr valued his own life a little too much to try and charge the fastest blaster in the known galaxy.

Next he opened both comm channels so he could talk to all of his Shaddaa Legends. "We've got Durr. Meet us at the penthouse," he then turned to the two legends present with him (@Tulos, @Feng Mian) "Go and see if we got an HoloNet access point here that could do a galaxy-wide broadcast," his eyes lingered on Aska for a bit, not having liked her earlier comment about killing the Hutt right away despite the plan they all agreed to beforehand.

The entire galaxy would know that not only did Preef and his Shaddaa Legends bring down the one responsible for the AMS virus, but that it was Preef Zaa Fenn and his Crymorah Syndicate that made it happen. Gareth, Aska and Ines' names would become legendary instantly for taking out Durr the Hutt as they would share his HoloNet spotlight.

She had done it. Once the droid had been successfully disposed of, Karina shifted her focus onto the second guard. She didn’t intend to steal Aska’s kill, but at seeing the other droid attempt to divert its power elsewhere, she didn’t want to take any risks. The wound on her side still burned from her mistake earlier. So, whether or not the mercenary finished the job, Karina shot clean into the droid’s head for good measure, then stepped aside. Durr had been severely wounded, and with the escape hatch closed, he would have nowhere else to go.

Of course, Karina was not completely lost on whatever was going on between Preef and Aska. It didn’t take a sharpshooter to notice the Rodian’s lingering stare—one she would be keen to avoid in the future—and Karina couldn’t help but shudder at the possibility of a stare down. Emotions ran high today. She of all people understood the mecenary's fury. Durr had been responsible for so many deaths, including close friends on Nar Shaddaa, and she wanted nothing more than to carve her knife through the Hutt’s belly and see what came spilling out.

But this was Preef’s mission to lead. Not hers.

Before either of them could start squabbling, Karina moved for the nearby desk. Trained for the sole reason of espionage and infiltration, she could slice through Durr’s personal database with ease, and if she met any obstacles on the way, she’d only need the Hutt’s slobbery hand to login, regardless of whether it was attached to his body or not.

I’m in,” she’d say after several long moments. Since Durr maintained his transmissions from this room—and thankfully Aska hadn’t destroyed the communications antenna on the tower roof—they would have a perfect link to the rest of the galaxy. If the slug didn’t have anymore surprises up his grease flaps, then all that was left for Karina to do was wait and listen.

Aska heard the whirring from the IG unit she had put down and quickly moved to drop another round from the DX-2 into it’s head, two simultaneous flashes of light coming from both her own blaster and that of Ines. Regardless of who struck the droid down first, the clone would nod in the disguised woman’s direction silently. In the end, it didn’t matter so long as the machine stayed down. Besides, if Ines wanted to even the debt of Aska saving her own life only moments ago then so be it.

The clone locked eyes with Callo briefly as he moved, the hostility she felt towards their target seeping through her gaze. She knew the plan. She knew Preef wanted to make a public display of this sorry excuse of a crime lord. She agreed to it. Yet her hatred towards him and everything he had unleashed on the galaxy was a force she struggled to cope with. Given the chance, she would gladly skin Durr here and now, cameras or not. She wasn’t in this for fame, it was just an added benefit from the nature of the operation. She was here dually because she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with the living legend that was Preef and, perhaps more importantly, she wanted to put the Hutt’s massive head on a pike outside his own gates. She was here simply for revenge.

”What?” she would grunt at the Rodian as their stare down finally broke apart. It was simply in the clone’s nature to focus on her own needs before all others and was something she felt she needed to return too. Even so, she was hired to do a job and she would perform it to the letter. Looking down to the Hutt as he writhed on the floor, the fire behind her eyes only continued to burn even brighter. ”If it was my choice, I’d cut open your belly and let your blood rain on your own men,” she growled, though another part of her wanted to see him suffer. ”Or stick you in a damn cage with one of those monsters you’ve created and let them have their way with you,”

Holstering her DX-2, the clone moved to pull a chair just out of arm’s reach of the Hutt before placing herself upon it with her SE-45 still trained on him. With her now free hand, the clone pulled the pack of cigarras from behind her chest plate and proceeded to light another as she tossed the pack on Durr’s desk. One final insult to him before he met his maker. Leaning in ever so slightly, blowing smoke into his bulbous and panicked eyes, Aska would hiss in his direction.

”You should probably start praying…”

Gareth’s attempts to persuade the droids were aided because he was ‘suggesting’ that they keep doing something that they were already ordered to do. That he had slipped in a slight command that he was perfectly entitled to be there worked because it was subtle in comparison to keeping up the work that they were already ordered to do. The restraining bolts that had been fitted to ensure that they followed orders meant that it reinforced the first part of the suggestion.

Simply put? The droids might have been able to shrug off his comments if it hadn’t been for Durr’s demand that they be fitted with restraining bolts so they couldn’t do anything to circumvent his own orders.

The Force Cloak itself did little to nothing to deter the Infected – however Gareth was aided there by the fact that the droids were prioritizing Infected that got too close to the ship. And considering Gareth was getting ever closer to the ship, every step he took got him more and more cover from the IG units.

**

Durr groaned and ached and moaned in pain from where he was beached against the floor but didn’t actively try to resist as Preef ordered the Legends to start setting up for the little show. What Ines would notice straight away even as they worked to slice into the terminal was that there was a timer in the upper right hand corner.

Five minutes and counting down.

It gave no further explanation and shutting it down was simply not possible since it had been triple authenticated by Durr before they had managed to barge through the door. However, Ines would be very easily be able to tell what the countdown was for – it was the timer for the detonation charges placed up and down the tower.

Durr didn’t panic.

He had been a Hutt warlord for longer than everyone in the room combined had been alive and he had always known that one day he would die violently. That he was going to die within his own home was something of a comfort so when Aska, so clearly angered by his very existence, tried to rile him up she would find him petulant, in pain but overall?

“Kava day.”
He attempted to drawl, “Catke cohka tytung ateema, bai tweepi gee kaee cay bu boa bai nan che mi, ata bai boonowa fa ah dopo hiw doptmahecanh bolla koumhoiag, wa battetkanh an bu Maha see Mon.”

The Hutt leaned back, wallowing as he tried to rile them up, to get them angry and sloppy. If they delayed too long, after all, they would be blown to kingdom come with him and to a Hutt, taking his killers with him? Oh it would be so sweet.

”Haku doth tytung tah dooo che, Callo? Phabeka? uba gee yoieu cuee ai uba caiot doutmaya. Woe?! Woe doth um baw wah banieie!”

Just as she began slicing into the Hutt’s computer systems, Karina had realized the moving countdown in the corner of the screen. Her heart spiraled right into her gut. She stood there and stared at it for a second, unsure of what to do or if she could stop it, but it made no difference. There was no time to waste. Without another moment of hesitation, she snapped her head to Preef and said, “Boss, we have a problem. Durr’s rigged the tower to blow. We have less than five minutes.

She knew this revelation would be dangerous to admit. Preef wanted to publicly humiliate the Hutt, while Aska wanted to execute him on the spot. News that Durr had played them all could lead to an argument or a full blown fight. They needed to find a way out of here. They had to leave now.

She figured Preef would page for Gareth or the transport that had dropped them down from orbit, but Karina didn’t want to waste her time waiting, hoping for someone else to come to her rescue. There was only one person she would trust her life with, and it was herself. But how could they escape without a ship?

She sucked in a breath. Two-hundred eighty, two-hundred seventy-nine, seventy-eight. She squeezed her mind for answers until a new realization came to her, a beacon of hope.

Karina broke into laughter. The others might think she’d gone absolutely crazy, but as she circled around the desk, staring down Durr, her voice was smooth and calm. “Stooge?” she repeated after him. Doth da bu yuna uba gee bai mo? Uba doth bu jecoa dopieiouanke see ba banaihetca. Wahca bu kark bimhee bankop uba biwaa dah mee chamy loi.

Karina knelt to the floor and ripped open the escape hatch. She used the magnifiers contained in her Scout HUD to examine the deep vent that seemed to drop far down the tower—perhaps farther than the tower itself. She looked up to Preef, then to Aska. “The bombs seemed to have been activated before we were even in the room. Durr was going to destroy this tower with us in it from the start, but he also was trying to slither down here, right? Why bother if the whole tower was going to blow anyway?

Durr had every intention to escape and survive. This shaft must lead to an underground basement, or a tram, or maybe a ship. If we need a way out, this is it.” She knew it was just a theory, a shot in the dark, but they had try something. Anything.

Preef found Aska to be troublesome, but at the same time every good crew had someone in it that worked better alone. Aska played that role, she clearly didn't follow orders well and couldn't help not to butt heads with authority. It was fine, when you know you can outdraw everyone else there isn't a reason to get all hot and bothered by someone challenging your decisions. Came with the territory of being a boss, something not even Sith Lords or Government leaders would ever understand. Slights and threats were common place in the criminal underworld. The higher up the chain the more skilled you got in forgetting slights in favor of credits or jobs. Preef would soon realize not everyone worked the same way..

The rodian had ignored the Hutt's words, but when Ines warned them of the timer he did refocus on the oversized slug and smiled as he shook his head. "Credits and Fame aren't the only reasons people have to want to kill Hutts," he pulled out his datapad with his free hand as he once again opened the comms line with Gareth, "Change of plans, Gareth, the whole tower is rigged to blow. There's an escape hatch Durr wanted to use going down. You don't happen to see a fast speeder down there that could take us out of the blast zone in let's say, three minutes?"

Without waiting for an answer he hit record on his datapad and a small holo-version of the four of them in the room appeared. Ines, Aska, Preef and the wounded Hutt, all recognizable. "Well, Aska-" the rodian started, "-seems like you got your wish, just do it fast."

Hopefully by the time she viciously killed the Hutt on camera Gareth would come back on the line to confirm Preef's suspicions of a fast speeder at the end of the vent.

Well, eventually Gareth got to the ship, now probably too far away and well covered for the two assassin droids to do anything to him...So he decided to go ahead and jump inside the ship. Of course, if the ship was open and easy to access, then this would be an easy task, which was a real possibility seeing that it was safe and sound inside a palace that the slime probably thought impossible to siege.

If not, however, frying the freighter's security systems to force the door open and then repeating it to grant him access to the ship was something he still could do, it was obvious doing that needed a little more of power than back when he fried the door of the wall, but raw power was what Gareth specialized in.

Once he made his way inside the ship, the Miralukan plan was simple enough: To wait for Durr to get in there and give him the beating of his life, making him suffer the moment he thought he was safe. However, instead he heard Preef's voice over the comms...A small part of him was sad the Hutt didn't get to use that escape hatch to receive a brutal beating, but this certainly worked "Funny you mention that, because If you go through that hatch I believe you'll find the slug's very expensive ship open and ready to go, which I'm warming for ya'all right as we speak."

Gareth spun around on a Hutt sized chair as he talked through the comms, the engines rumbling and ready to go "Also two droids are making sure the infected aren't getting to the ship, so I recommend you shoot 'em and then get the fuck in here before they overrun you, see ya in a couple minutes." And with that word of advice, Gareth stopped the comms, he could leave safely at any time, leave the other three for dead and then gun for Preef's spot if the explosion killed him, but the Miralukan was no unloyal, cowardly bitch, if Preef didn't get here in time, then the four of them would die, martyrs and legends sticking together until the end.

There were only a few things Aska knew to be consistent in her life. First, she was hot headed and stubborn no matter how hard she tried to curb these tendencies. It was one of the first things she had been forced to come to terms with, often contemplating wearing a “does not play well with others” sign around her neck to save her from the hassle of explaining why she is the way she is. Second, Hutts were far from witless. Overconfident, certainly, but they always seemed to have a knack for thinking three steps ahead. Finally, if something could go wrong, she knew only too damn well that it would. When Ines announced to the others that the palace was mere minutes away from being reduced to rubble, the clone wished she could have been surprised. Everything had gone so well up until this point; of course there had to be a catch.

Yet with every shadow, there was a light. Little did Aska expect it but Ines wasted no time in proving that her mind was as fast and as sharp as her aim. While the clone gritted her teeth and started trying to piece together an exit strategy, the disguised woman offered exactly what they needed. Durr, the coward that he was, was already planning his own escape but now his little yacht down stairs was going to fall into the hands of his murderers. Delightful. Standing from the chair and turning her attention to Ines as she left the smoke dangling from her lip, she holstered the SE-45 with a soft chuckle.

”Well, at least if we don’t make it out, our last moments are gonna be spent doing something fun,” Taking a pull off the cigarra, the clone then looked to Preef as he sent out the call to their Miralukan ally on the ground floor. If all went well, the four of them could just as well live to talk about their achievements here. If not, they’d die together knowing they at least brought about some form of justice that the galaxy so desperately needed.

”Trust me,” Aska continued once their leader gave her the go ahead, his datapad recording everything that was about to transpire. Pulling one of her vibrodaggers from it’s sheath, she walked around Durr until she stood behind him and out of reach of his stubby arms. ”I’m only too happy to do it,” With her left hand, she reached it around their prisoner’s head and grabbed hold of one of the many loose folds of skin that hung near his bulging eyes before reaching the blade around the opposite side, placing the razor sharp edge on the Hutt’s throat just below her other hand. There was no time for grand standing. No time for motivational words for the galaxy to listen to as they watched the infamous crime lord die. Not that she was one for showboating, anyway.

”This is for my sisters… And the trillions of lives you’ve stolen,” Aska whispered in Durr’s ear, though loud enough to be picked up on the recording. Sinking the dagger into his throat, the blade practically vanished entirely into his bloated neck. Placing her right knee into what could only be called the small of his back for added leverage, the clone proceeded to tug the blade through the Hutt’s flesh leaving a massive wound that poured blood to the floor, covering her hand as she did so. As the dagger finally tore through the opposite side of his neck, Aska pushed his dying form to the floor with her knee before taking her now free left hand and pulling the cigarra from her lips. Spitting on his corpse as she wiped the blood from her blade on his hide, the clone turned and began to make her way towards the escape hatch. ”Burn in hell, schutta,”

Motioning for the others to take the first leap of faith, Aska would sheath her dagger and follow suit in their race against the clock.

Karina thought they might be able to drag the injured Hutt down the shaft—both as a compromise and a safety measure in case the vent led to, say, the incinerator—but she enjoyed this outcome much more. It would save them necessary time to escape, but Durr didn’t deserve another second to live in this world. She wanted to watch the breath leave his body—and she would.

Karina observed what transpired with a strange, almost giddy captivation. There was no pity to be found in her heart or underneath the soulless mask she wore, none for the slobbering Hutt. There was only hate. This is for the lives you stole, she thought. For Aleksander and Reyna and Makhi. The names of old friends, torn apart in the slums of Nar Shaddaa, where the pandemic hit the hardest. Forgotten names, carried on by the only friend who survived. Karina would light a flame to those lost, and they could finally rest now that they’d had their revenge.

She made a parting gesture to the Hutt as Aska finished her work, a pool of his own blood quickly spreading across his polished floors. Then, she gave a short nod to the mercenary, grateful, a new respect found in her presence. And when she motioned for them to leap into the open escape shaft, Karina was the first to listen. Already standing by the edge, she took a step forward and plunged into the dark. She kept a close hand on the controls attached to her wrist, ready to activate her jet boots the moment she caught anything wrong at the shaft’s end.

But as she slid down, Karina couldn’t help but feel a smile tugging at her lips. The mission was not yet over, but Durr was gone. She could die the minute she landed on the other side of this shaft, and it wouldn’t matter. She would head into the next life content, relieved, satisfied knowing her old friends, and the rest of the galaxy, would finally have their retribution.

Durr didn't need for Ines to speak in Huttese to understand them but it was nice of them to insult Durr one final time with his own language. Enough that it got a deep, rumbling, gurgle of a laugh from the Hutt even as the Legend sliced through enough of his systems to uncover the big issue with staying her to make a spectacle out of his death. Part of him was annoyed - he was fairly certain there was no escaping his death at this point but Durr had been hoping he would have the comfort of knowing they blew up shortly afterward.

Robbed of him.

"Bu Koh tee dee Lou lkele jiu... vee cinva bimhee ree jeejee Yih che gee bu koukecasa bai jiu bu jiu cua dan ai uba koumi raca."

With Gareth, the ship itself would be a heavily modified freighter - modified both to allow a creature of Durr's sheer bulk to operate it and to be far superior to it's standard form as well. The ship itself had been unlocked already as part of the codes that Durr had managed to activate to begin his own escape so Gareth would find little in the way of issues.

What he would find, however, was a pilot droid sitting in the co-pilot's chair, staring at him.

"... you are not the Master."

Durr wretched slightly as Aska got herself ready, pulled his head and neck into position and placed her blade at the ready. She whispered to him her reasoning, the reasoning that had her in this position in the first place and Durr, spiteful, hateful, Durr? He tried to deny her even this, even as she sank her blade into his throat.

"Jee gee woy fa tytung maee an woy uba adtahia whao Meecooda-Urk!"

But he couldn't, couldn't get the last of his words out as his throat was opened up and suddenly he was bleeding out and air fled his lungs in wet heaving gasps and splutters. Aska's attempt to push the dying Hutt over would find her kind of just sliding off however as the sheer weight of the Hutt was too much for the woman to move with her knee alone.

The emergency exit shaft itself led past the courtyard and past the droids currently culling the infected too - the end of the shaft was actually just to the side of the parked up freighter. Durr, after all, wouldn't have wanted much of a long walk to safety.

Last DM post for the thread I'd say guys - happy to have assisted! Ship that has been recovered is detailed below;
- Class VI Bulk Freighter
- Equipped with a Hyperdrive De-Limiter to improve the hyperdrive by one class
- Equipped with a fusial afterburner to improve speed by 20 MGLT
