Sybella didn't seem the least bit convinced. If anything, she appeared further incensed by Kalique's adamant rebuttal. "And you don't think, for even a moment, that your precious Empire hasn't picked up any of the Sith's 'bad habits'? It certainly wouldn't surprise me, I can assure you of that."

Stepping away from her Kalique, Sybella couldn't help but look at her in a different light. Despite their past, and their counteractive allegiances, she had always believed they united under the banner of familial blood. They overlooked one another's transgressions, tolerating their loyalties despite the ever-expanding difference. No longer it seemed.

There was a detachment within the Jedi's gaze. It was as if the truth had finally struck a chord within; @Kalique Demici was her cousin, yes, but she was also an imperial knight and her fraction had once aligned itself with the Sith Order. Whilst this was something completely out of Kali's actual control, it now bothered Sybella more than anything. The taint of the dark side was not so easily erased - she should know, more than anyone.

Through the Force, the Jedi sensed something else. Kali's attention was...split. She was speaking with her cousin, yes but her thoughts were elsewhere. They lay with him.

Unbelievable.

With a disbelieving scoff, Sybella shook her head. She couldn't even bring herself to look at her cousin; something within simply compelled her to create further distance. "Go, then. Your paramour needs you..."

Wanting to say more, the Jedi somehow found the will to bite her tongue. Instead, she chose to abandon the discussion and purposely refused to offer the customary words of parting. The message was clear and simple; Sybella no longer viewed Kalique as she did before. No longer a cousin of the blood, instead she was yet another imperial scavenging at the behest of her beloved Empire.

'Can't be trusted...She ought to be banished-'

The thought stopped her short. How could she think, after being in exile herself for so long? Kali was an Imperial, but she was still family...

'She forsook that loyalty. It no longer aligns with Serenno and her independence.'

Couldn't it be argued that Sybella was no different? She devoted herself to the Jedi Order. Did they not also deserve loyalty from her?

Too many thoughts clouded the Knight's mind. Like a coil, she was wound tight and was ready to snap should any else court her ire. The guests, though shaken, were being treated. The pirates were detained, alongside their remaining fleet. They would face swift judgement for their crimes. No doubt sector rangers would get involved as well, given the ravagers' prolific reputation; other star systems would likely have sentences to sue for alongside Serenno. Noticing the pirate's holoprojector was still on the flood, Sybella collected it for further examination. The bounty was a sizeable one. Not bad, considering the damage she had inflicted on their privateering enterprise. When she had time, she'd need to follow it up perhaps and find out who exactly was foolish enough to target a Knight of the Jedi Order
