DESCRIPTION
The largest and most powerful ship designed and produced by the New Alderaan Royal Shipyards. This ship, designed by the New Alderaan Royal Engineers while New Alderaan was still with the Free Worlds Alliance, was supposed to be their crowning achievement; enabled by additional resources funneled from other planets and increases in military spending. The 'Liberty' class Star Cruiser is in the same weight-class as the MC80 and the Imperial Star Destroyer. Although technically it may be a Star Destroyer, this craft is referred to as a 'Star Cruiser' because of the former phrases association with the old Galactic Empire and the Sith. While still a large warship, this mighty vessel bears typical hallmarks of Royal Engineers aestheics are still present in the ship, the blue-ish white armor plating and the sleek curves.

The 'Liberty' class focuses in raw firepower aimed at destroying other capital ships. It's vast array of heavy turbolasers and ion cannons facilitate this. Due to the ship's shape, it enables all the ship's heavy weapons to be able to bear on the enemy in the front. The anti-fighter defenses on this ship are lacking, but this is mitigated with it's own fighter complement and being escorted by anti-starfighter corvettes such as the Vigilant class. The torpedo bays are by default loaded with Ion Torpedoes, which although they lack the raw destructive power of regular proton torpedoes, can wear down shields quicker of disable the target vessel altogether or prime them to be destroyed by the other ship's weapons, making them very effective at punching through the shields of ships of comparable or even larger size.

In addition to it's anti-capital ship firepower, the craft also has reinforced armor plating and also has retractable durasteel sheets that can cover up the bridge if need be. Not only that, it also has a second heavy shield generator that puts a tight layer of shielding over the bridge, protecting against any snubfighters or bombers that manage to get through it's main shield bubble.

The 'Liberty' class Star Cruiser is a big feat for the New Alderaan shipyards and these ships are really expensive and resource intensive to build, but it was possible for the once small company to build these ships thanks to commissions and funding from New Alderaan, influx of material from a deal with the planet Sabacc, and a swell of profits from then-Prime Minister Korre commissioning many Stalwart class Starfighters from the company. The project was paused when the Sith invaded New Alderaan and conquered the planet for the Empire. However, the project was resumed after the New Alderaan Royal Engineers agreed to cooperate with the Sith. Not only that, with @Tiamat's aid, this vessel would be equipped with Path Engine technology. By utilizing it, the ships hyperspace speed will be faster and provide a whole slew of other benefits, including safely using unconventional hyperspace route, which would be a big boon for the ship.

By the end of the ISC-Empire war, no more of the Liberty-class would remain in Imperial service. With a combination of losses, and inexperience with the Path Engine system intertwined into the Liberty's construction, they would be unable to use it.

LEGALITY
Restricted. This ships classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. Even then, they are ridiculously expensive to operate; only a relatively large faction or particularly wealthy government would be able to afford it without swiftly bankrupting themselves. An individual would stand no chance. In addition, these ships are proletary property of New Alderaan and/or the Sith and unauthorized use or possession of them is illegal and punishable as well.

INTENT
This is the result of New Alderaan Royal Engineers acquiring resources over the course of a couple threads. This ship was in the works for a long while, originally slated to be for the Free Worlds Alliance/New Alderaan, however with it changing hands to the Sith, this would be

RESTRICTIONS
These ships are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.
