LIGHT FORGE

The Light Forge is one of the sacred chambers of the Hall of Elders, and has long been considered the place for the creators, the thinkers, the builders, the weaponers, the architects and the mystics of the Order of the Matukai. Also called the Vault of Creation, the Light Forge is the location where the most skilled and talented designers of the Matukai forge their creations. From elaborately designed wan-shens, to personal warskins, to customized SHADES to the process of imbuing weapons and other items with the Light Side of the Force to achieve various effects, the Light Forge was the place of alchemy for the Matukai, where sciences and the wonders of the Force conjoined as one.

Matukai Forgers are a relative rarity among the Matukai. While all Matukai possess at least rudimentary knowledge of building and maintaining their weapons, those that frequent the Light Forge elevate this proficiency into an art, second only to the specialized members of the Jal Shey. Many Matukai often seek forgers to enhance their weapon's strength with the Light, better enabling them to utilize their weapons against the arcane powers of the Darkness, particularly against the Sith Order of the Imperium. Matukai who become experts at designing and forging items and infusing Light into weapons and armor are given the honorary title of "Dawnwright".

THE
DAWNWRIGHTS

The Dawnwrights are the most skilled and proficient forgers and artisans of the Order of the Matukai. Unlike most secondary professions among the Matukai, the Dawnwrights are not warriors in the foremost sense, but builders, crafters and creators. Superbly skilled and supremely qualified in their craft, most of the Matukai's highest quality equipment, such as those made for the Templar Guardians, the Matukai Elders, or certain custom items created for other Matukai, are all created by the Dawnwrights.

The Dawnwrights are a relatively new profession among the Matukai, with them emerging from within the Matukai's ranks almost two centuries following the devastation of the Yuuzhan Vong War. After the Matukai, almost with most Force orders, entered into a devastated state, scattered members of other Force organizations periodically found their way to the Matukai's safe-world of Karvoss. Among those of the Matukai Exodus were members of the Jal Shey order, arguably the galaxy's greatest specialists of the arts of metallurgic smithing and Force-infusing.

Although much of their finesse had become diluted over time, the Matukai Order gradually began vigorously reapplying themselves to the high-level art of Force-crafting. This occurred almost directly after the first attack by the Sith Order of the Imperium on the flagship of the Jedi Order, the Will of the Force, over Tython. By the time galactic warfare had been declared between the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and the Sith Imperium, the Matukai had feared a new era of Darkness overtaking the galaxy, and began an initiative that ultimately culminated in the creation and refinement of the Dawnwrights.

Dawnwrights almost always dwell in the Light Forge, infusing Light into weapons, smithing armors, or passing their skills on to apprentices. The most powerful and highest quality weapons of the Dawnwrights are stored in the Vault of Creation, the innermost chamber that only the Dawnwrights and Matukai Elders can access freely.
