He broke a streak due to the accident. For a few days he had been able to keep is presence masked n the force for a full day. Lucien wanted to get to the point where it came as second nature. He had resumed the technique after he was initially treated but he had to admit, being a stuntman for a holomovie meant his focus and self displine were tested. Yet compared to others, Lucien didn't get injured as often as most others in a similar field and when he did it usually was something that could have easily ended much worse.

This time the Morganian had a fractured right arm as well as several stitches along his right stomach from where he had fallen on some jagged debris. His personal doctor was going to be visiting Coruscant where the scene he had been in was filmed. Lucien was in his apartment with the tea already warming up. He wore a simple black long sleeved polo shirt and a pair of grey trousers. The top button of his polo was undone before he turned on the stove in the apartment. There were other portions of a meal he was making. Of course he had the foresight to have enough for the Doctor. If she didn't want to stay for any after her visit then there would be left overs to take as lunch for tomorrow.

The holonet played in the background and the subtle fan over the stove made most of the noise. Occasionally he would look over at it. It was going to be a bit tricky with his arm still healing but not too difficult. Lucien just adapted and took his time with his preparations. If he had both hands fully working right now he would have enjoyed some more time on the couch. But he could hear the holocaster from the kitchen enough to understand but kept it low enough to hear when the Doctor arrived.

Ilana didn't make long trips to the Core Worlds very often; the last time she had, it was for a voracious redhead and her nervous husband, and that memory was best scrubbed out from her mind. This patient, however, she had treated before. She was trying to recall his occupation, but for the moment it remained fuzzy. It would come to her eventually, but for now she simply made her way. At first, it was all rough neighborhoods, but it slowly turned into nice buildings.

The upscale residence she saw made her merely perk a white brow, before buzzing in for the intercom. It wasn't life-saving work this time, but just making sure he was healing well, and by his request of advanced credits. A girl couldn't deny an advance line, after all.

When she came to the right door, she touched the handle, only to realize it was unlocked. She could smell it even from down the hall, and she felt a keen edge of hunger bite into her focus. Swallowing, she stepped in, eyes panning until her eyes found her patient.

He seemed remarkably well put together for someone with a broken arm, she had to admit.

Her long white hair had been kept simple down her back, with a charcoal grey V-necked shirt and black slacks, along with her armored coat, and medical bag. No matter where she went, she always packed heat, holstered at the small of her back, heels clicking on the floor. Amber eyes tracked the room around her, a bemused glint in her eyes.

"If I had known you were expecting company, I would have scheduled for a different hour,"
she rasped, clipping in with a tall spine. "So what happened this time?"

The hiss of the sliding door opening came and warranted a look over his shoulder that was accompanied my a pleasant chuckle at hearing the Doctor's words. "I am expecting company and she just arrived."

Lucien chopped a few more vegetables but heard her follow up question. "Seven, no seventeen stitches I think." He set the knife down and waved over his section of his shirt that now covered where they injuries still were. "Also my right arm is fractured I guess. They said I was luck I didn't completely break it but..." He took the knife up again and resumed preparing the food with his good hand. "I'm right handed, so I think I'm just trying to manage that for the time being."It wasn't that big of an inconvenience and to show it the vegetable was quickly finished.

After washing his hands he finally turned all the way around to face the Doctor. There were some signs of a faded bruise on his head that didn't need any attention, just time to go away. "I have the water ready for tea or something else, Doctor?" He went to get a pot out and ready to brew some. "Have a seat in the living room if you want unless you need the kitchen table." He gestured to the next room.

The next room over was still of similar size to the kitchen. There was an L shaped couch and coffee table. An artificial and modern fireplace sat along the bottom of the apartment and a fair entertainment setup was the same as when the arkanian woman had last come. Beyond that was a door to his bedroom though the door was closed.

She merely blinked at him, amber eyes surveying calmly head to foot. "You seem very relaxed for someone who's received seventeen stitches and a fractured arm," came the cool reply, walking over with an easy air. The last time she had been here, situations were different. He had a concussion, if she could recall correctly, and two snapped ribs. She watched him wordlessly for a couple beats, then nodded once, taking off her jacket.

"Tea would be great, thank you," came her low rasp. "Need any help?" She tilted her head to the food, but it seemed like he had a decent handle on it. She set her bag down near the table, rolling up the cuffs of her shirt and waiting to see what would work. Something was different about him this time; she couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it felt... different.

The smells were amazing, but she kept her gaze focused on him. It was the reason why she was here, after all, she was dubious he asked her here simply for her company. He could have asked for cheaper company if that were the case, the type more likely to remove clothes. But now she remembered what his occupation was; she could never understand the willingness to step into danger as he did, but she could respect dedication to art.

Lucien managed a shrug. "I'm lucky it wasn't worse. Bacta does wonders though some of these bills I got charged. oof aren'y anything to scoff at. Having insurance as a stunt performer isn't easy." Hid expression indicated he wasn't letting it bother him. "But I'm fine for the most part Doctor. You're job's to make sure I don't overdo it right?" He jested and preppared some cream and sugar as well in case Ilana wanted some.

It didn't take long for the tea to brew which the Morganian poured shortly for the both of them. Everything was slowed down to a good pause since he wasn't sure if the Arkanian woman wanted to do his check up first. But at least they could have tea. "Is it of any hinderance to have some food first?" He gestured to the other portions of food that were put to the side.

She merely gave a one-shouldered shrug to his comment of watching him; amber eyes were speculative, but she tilted her head slightly in a nod. "I suppose if baby-sitting is what I was hired for, then you're the boss," came the dry tone, but his good humor was interesting. She took the cup, savoring for a moment the warmth; she knew her hands were icy, and was often told by several patients that her cold hands were detrimental to her practice. She began adding sugar afterward, but just a splash of milk.

"Of course not," she replied, shaking her head. "I'm here by your call; though my ordinary patient days don't present food." She gave the food a glance, brows raised slightly. "Though it's not an unwelcome first."

Lucien smiled at hearing the doctor's response. The food would taste better with it being fresh and not left. The Morganian took pride in his cooking. "You're a medical specialist." He stated as he went back to chopping up the last of the vegetables. "You're far too overqualified to be a babysitter." A moment passed as he sipped the tea to the side and made a content expression, satisfied with how it turned out and returned to another portion of the meal preparation.

"You've heard of probably different celebrities taking an assortment of...substances." His brow furrowed as he had searched for the right word in an effort to sound appropriate. "Involved in a high profile event from time to time I'll admit I've had my interactions with those kinds of temptations...which I partook by the way, full disclosure." He checked on the oven to make sure it was coming along nicely and letting out the scent of cooked meat and seasons along with the heat before dispersing again.

Well, he was still a smooth talker at least.

Hearing about drugs, however, she listened patiently. Amber eyes held no reflection of judgement as she stared at him moving, one hand still with her tea, the other draped in her lap.
"Spice, you mean," she answered coolly, "and other drugs? I'd ask you to be specific so I can avoid endangering you should you require any extensive treatment."

The smells were distracting. Pleasant, almost soothing in their way. He didn't use a host of chemicals to artificially cleanse the air, too, another thing she appreciated about this space. Instead she merely watched as he moved, spine tall and legs crossed neatly. If she didn't know any better, this would have seemed like an attempt to seduction. However, that would be ridiculous, she was merely an acting physician. On top of which... there was still some feeling in the air.

Something about him felt familiar, and it wasn't just the patient/physician protocol.

Lucien smiled and shook his head slightly. "I am not taking any nor have I in a long time." He found it nice to hear her look at it from an objective medical perspective and not leap to judgement. "I am aware that you travel though the parts of space where spice is more commonly used." He set the cut and cleaned array of vegetables on the table. His open, upturned palm gestured for her to treat them like appetizers if she was particularly hungry before taking a seat at the kitchen table with his tea.

"With you being a responsible adult I also trust your skill in the medical field. I want to experiment with some mind altering substances but mostly for research purposes. Addiction and health hazards are concerns but I was wondering if there is anything you might suggest, legal or otherwise that when used in a controlled environment..." He looked over his shoulder, around the apartment before looking back at the golden eyed doctor. Lucien had heard that sometimes it could inhibit certain sensations but potentially focus others. It was something he had tried a handful of times over the course of his life and not consistent but now the man was just curious and having the Arkanian medical processional give her opinion on the matter was something he was genuinly asking for.

She listened passively, delicately holding the cup in one pale hand, the other curled lazily in her lap. Sit up straight, hold the saucer, don't slouch Ilana-- the voice of a past slipped in, and she found herself absently correcting before frowning slightly, and resuming her old position. She bowed her head once at his offering of an appetizer, delicately selecting one slice and listening still.

Lucent amber eyes flickered up to meet his once more at his comment of researching about mind-altering substances, the food halfway to her mouth before setting it down on the saucer.
"Every person's reaction to certain drugs is different in some variety," she replied calmly, brows tilted at him absently. "Taken in small doses, within a controlled environment, for the sake of observation and research may take more than one individual." She was keeping neutral for now, but she knew he sought her opinion.

She sighed, then shifted.
"In the name of research, I would find it fascinating, but in the name of a physician the actual treatment of the drug versus the placebo would be far more preferential. It keeps the physiological reactions..." she lifted the food once more, lips pursed thoughtfully. "...honest."

She popped it into her mouth, pausing to chew and swallow before continuing.
"I, myself, do not partake. I only indulge in alcohol once in a while for its' downing capabilities, and cigaras for an occasion. But otherwise, I stay away from most substances." She tilted her head at him, a slight, if cold, smile gracing her features.

"Legal or otherwise."

Either she misunderstood or was trying to give Lucien a hint that she was not the person to approach about this subject. She gave a very by-the-book analysis and summary but he was not trying to do a study or have a test group like some legitimate pharmaceutical company. His interest was only personal.

He wasn't sure if he believed that she had never taken spice. She came from Hutt space and from his observation, seemed like the type to cross paths with those that freely imbibed illicit substances. It was her truth to keep if she wanted. Lucien didn't care if she smoked it on the regular or just experimented in college. He wasn't a cop and as long as she didn't let it interfere with doing a good job as a Doctor he didn't care.

"Ah, well. Regardless, dinner is almost ready." The food in the oven was finished which prompted the Morganian to get up and begin serving the food into two bowls. First a layer of rice. The cooked starchy vegetables and dark meat mixed with the somewhat sweet yet savory sauce. It was one of the simpler meals but able to be prepared on shorter notice and did not require a lot of effort. Grasping the two bowls he placed one gently in front of Arkanian, steam rising from the meal. He grabbed a bright yellow fruit that had been cut and placed among the appetizing vegetables from earlier for her to take. He squeezed it gently over the woman's bowl so just a small amount sprinkled over the meal. Grabbing another, he did the same to his own bowl.

"You aren't a vegetarian are you?" He asked after taking a seat and placing his napkin in his lap. A small grin on his face as he got a bit of everything on his fork. Taking a bit he felt pleased with himself.

At least he seems a decent cook, she thought to herself, based on smell and prep alone. Still, she had to wonder why she was even here, if he could manage this much alone without any assistance, and even made dinner for them both to boot. In her regular experience, most patients simply couldn't do that, which meant one of two things. Either he needed her services for something unrelated, such as using spice, or he really did need a medical professional and was simply highly pain-tolerant.

Either way, she was here. At his question, she had already taken a forkful, and paused, lucent amber eyes flicking up to meet his. The faintest of smiles curled on her lips; in a subtle way, she seemed highly amused at the question.
"I suppose it's too late now," she replied blandly, putting the bite into her mouth.

Okay, he was a fantastic cook. Many meals she had across the galaxy that many deemed palatable, were nearly inedible for her refined tastes. It wasn't simply a matter of being picky; it was a matter of quality that fed her, and across the wide galaxy much of galactic quality truly suffered. She could eat near anything if it was at least good taste, but enhanced smell and taste meant many dishes presented as 'gourmet' were very much off the palate for her.

She allowed him the most subtle of nods for a praise, then silence while eating, permitting him time to get to the heart of the matter of why she was here, or at least the true reason, or even permit him dinner conversation. She herself was not as adept at this small talk, preferring others to lead the conversation in that case.

Lucien liked the Doctor's company, what little he had experienced of it. It only peaked his curiosity. A long time passed since last the man found interesting company that had been forthcoming. The Morganian didn't judge people based on their intentional actions. It was the accidents that sometimes defined people. The truth of a person's character, just like the slightest hints of a smile the Doctor provided him.

The stuntman made a short belly laugh at her comment through his own modest mouthful of food. He took another bite, making sure to taste those the portions that had been smaller in his last savoring tasting. Looking across the table, he waited until he was finished chewing. "You're a woman of few words aren't you Doctor?" He chewed for a moment and then stopped. "I haven't made you uncomfortable by preparing a meal I hope." A hint of concern in his voice as he asked the question.

She hadn't thought she said anything intentionally humorous, but nonetheless she glanced back up at him and his comment, an absent one-shouldered shrug given in response. She didn't believe in filling silence with nonsense; most found it uncomfortable, but for her it meant she could think without idle chatter filling up her time. At his question, however, she waited until her bite was swallowed before replying, lowering the fork.

"Not at all, though it's highly unusual for a patient to be healthy enough at my arrival to prepare a meal for me,"
she replied dryly, taking a slow sip of tea. "If I didn't know any better, I would assume you have called me on a matter of business rather than health." She gazed levelly at him while she spoke; it was an indirect question, but one that remained yet to be answered. And though the food and conversation were pleasant, she didn't have the luxury of lingering over tea, discussing heartfelt secrets or pining romances.

The edges of his mouth curled for a moment in a smile at her response. A hand reached for his tea and took a sip as he thought about his own response. "What if I did?" A daring tone hinted in his words.

The hand that held his fork stopped for a moment and he looked up to meet the Doctor's gaze directly. "I'm a student of many subjects. I'm wondering if you might be able to teach me a thing or two.." He resumed his attention to the bowl before him but continued to talk. "I think learning something new from an interaction is a good thing. It's something we should strive for in civilization." A shrug followed as the Morganian chewed, as if he knew it was a naive opinion.

The man's eyes flicked towards the center of the table in thought while he chewed. Gradually, he loosened his subdued presence in the force. But his attention, while not overt, was directed towards the Doctor. "Do you..." He paused before continuing as if second guessing even asking the question in the first place. "Do you keep secrets?" His bruised nose inhaled, taking in the scent of the tea as he took a sip while waiting for the Ilana's answer.

She merely took another bite of her food at his own daring tone, for the time being not immediately commenting. Either he would talk on his own terms or she would enjoy a decent meal and perhaps get paid, in either sense it would not be the worst night spent. Though to come all this way to the Core would be the biggest sour edge to this... visit.

"I might," she replied simply in his statement of learning; she could empathize with such a need. She was still driven by that need to understand, but most answers she needed were not easily forthcoming to those that had them. Some of them were dead. Others were simply on their way to their graves already, and didn't know it yet.

At his question of keeping secrets, she tilted her head slightly.

"I'm a physician. One of my sworn duties is to protect the secrets and information regarding my patients. You are one of them,"
she answered calmly, picking up the fork once more. She glanced back up at him, expression a picture of cool calm. "So yes. I do." She scooped up another bite delicately, waiting to see whether or not he would address what she came here for, or simply continue this wordy repartee. It wasn't unpleasant, but it could get tiresome if he didn't come to a point.

Perhaps in time, she could guide him to what he needed to discuss. But something about him changed. A feeling... so subtle, she almost missed it. Ever so slightly, her hand tightened on her fork. It seems there was more to Lucien than met the eye. She would simply have to be patient for now.

There was a lack of understanding with the woman across the table from him. It wasn't her fault by any means. But it made him somewhat curious to the specifics of her background. He waited a few moments, chewing and thinking on how to best approach his goal. Like the Ilana, Lucien could appreciate silence. It was the shared content silence between individuals that he felt there was a sense of understanding. So he would keep to that.

It wasn't long before there was a sufficient amount of their food gone despite eating well mannered bites. "I'll admit, I'm far from being an expert in many fields. But there is a plethora I've considered, hobbies. What do you know about the Sith?" Considering they were the enemy of most core worlds and historically any civilized system he wondered if she had any aversion to the dark side.

With dropping his subdued presence in the force and bringing himself to the 'surface' it was easier to also feel outwards. Yet, Lucien was confused for a moment. This was the first time he had dropped the technique in the Doctor's presence yet he could not sense her emotions as well as most people. He repressed a smile and instead took another bite. My my Doctor. You might just be more interesting than I expected.

The meal would be finished shortly. It was not a large helping but adequate, appropriate for a substanial and healthy diet for most near-humans. Of course there were still other sides available but Lucien also got the vibe she was an objective and focused individual. It was one of the reasons why he had chosen her against other doctors for his medical needs. Getting up from the table he took the bowl over to the sink and came back to take her's if she was finished. Otherwise he would make sure to heat some more water for tea. "I suppose you want to do your job now. Is the couch alright?" He said with a smile and waited to see where the woman would choose. The living room of the apartment was more comfortable than the dining room but she was the medical professional.

And there it was.

She glanced up at him upon mention of the Sith. The name was not commonly known.. and once she felt the aura he presented, she understood perfectly. And yet her gaze remained unfazed. She could sense his confusion, a brief flicker of it, and for just a moment the faintest of smiles touched her lips as though she were internally laughing. But the mood was gone just as quickly, swallowed down with another bite of meat.

"Very little in the way of culture," she spoke coolly, giving him a level gaze. "But perhaps more than some, in... some ways." But that aura, that sense... it reminded her of Kai, in a way. For a moment, she closed her eyes, and she found it difficult to swallow. But she finally did, and set the fork by side.

Suddenly, she had lost her appetite.

She handed her own bowl over, then stood, grasping her bag.
"The couch is fine," she spoke crisply, but then panned her gaze over him once more, lips pursed slightly.

"You're a man of many surprises, Lucien Sloan."

The Morganian made his way into the living room and took a seat on the comfortable couch. "You've seen the news right? The different lightsabers from different sides, Jedi versus Sith. Seems like a mythical story returned to reality." Lucien was referring to the announcement by the Eternal. His master had told him about the others in the cult when he was still under that man's tutelage. But the stuntman was not interested in the current Sith Order. Instead his cuiousity remained focused towards the past.

"I'll take that as a compliment. Life without surprises wouldn't be much of a life in my opinion." A smile curled at the edges of his handsome face. "I left Serenno because it was...predictable." It would have been fine if the man had stayed on his homeworld. But that was all it would be, fine. Another individual life carried out and ended at some point without purpose or excitement.

Lucien made sure to accomadate whatever the Doctor needed to check his health. "I do heal fast I think. Plus some extra bacta never hurt. Of course there's you Doctor Morata. You think it's strange I'm moving about but this wasn't the first time I got hurt and probably won't be the last. Maybe I'm just used to it." He did not know the number of times he had broken bones that then healed over stronger. That also probably had something to do with it.

"A little too close to home, these 'mystical stories'," she deadpanned, jaw hardening slightly. Amber eyes narrowed in focus as she began checking his vitals first, his pulse, breathing, pressure. "Though as for predictability... I often envy those that can have such a security. It must be nice to know what's going to happen for your tomorrow." But that was all she would say on the matter, but the truth was...

She always envied them, the common rabble. How they could wake up, get breakfast, drink caf, and just live the doldrums of their lives knowing the tomorrow would be much the same as the yesterday, without wondering how long they would live today or how guarded they would have to be just to skate by on the thin ice of 'just normal enough'. Scoff as he might at her statement, it was a truth in her mind.

Those that had predictable lives were fortunate in knowing their futures. As for herself, she barely knew beyond the next patient.

Amber eyes flicked up to his face at his accelerated healing; they had some time for her to check wounds.
"Tell me more about your curiosities of Force users," she spoke up blandly, but if he looked at her, he would see it in her eyes.

A sharp, serrated knowing. She knew. She understood. And yet... there wasn't a hint of alarm. Merely a bland intrigue.
"I myself am very interested as well."
