A couple paragraphs of backstory!!! Due to the very simple format of this temple, this section can be as long or as short as you want.

In fact, it doesn't really even need to be a backstory! There are no labels!! Go crazy, ah! Go stupid ,ah!

Template notes
- If you don't stick with the greyscale, choose a color that is desaturated so the light colors don't hurt people's eyes too much and so that the dark ones aren't so, well, dark. I suggest changing the color of the text from either white or black, depending on the contrast with the background color, as you can see I did here.

- For the images, what I did is extra and definitely not necessary! I do feel like a banner-like image would work best, but honestly, anything will be fine, there will just be a lot of empty space on either side if its tall or square.

Neri Morelle
she/her — independent — fs

Summary.
Neri is a 20-year-old woman born into the Hapan aristocracy. She stands five foot three, weighs 121 pounds, and is characterized by her straight black hair, grey eyes, and the beauty mark under her left eye. Though she is very aware of her force sensitivity, she is untrained and has kept this a secret to herself. Like many Hapans, Neri is obsessed with beauty and is almost always 'done-up' in a way.

Biography.
Neri was born in the Hapan capital of Ta'a Chume'Dan, the second born in her family, and her mother was an elite member of the Hapan aristocracy. Neri was a bastard child born from a one-night stand that meant nothing to both parties involved, and she never knew her father (though she later came to know what he was). It was a miracle in itself that Neri was ever even born, and her mother often expressed sentiments of wishing she'd never had the girl in the first place.

One might then be able to infer the sort of childhood Neri had, knowing her mother's distaste for her bastard daughter. Though she grew up in luxury, she was not loved by her mother, even if the girl was paraded about with her half-siblings and showered with love in public. This sort of treatment continued for the rest of her childhood, with the girl being provided the best of the best if only to maintain the family's image, lucky only that she was so similar in appearance to her mother and half-siblings.

Knowing she would never inherit anything from her family, Neri packed her bags soon after she became an adult and left the Hapan cluster behind to look for purpose elsewhere in the galaxy. Driven by a hunger for power amongst other things, Neri was determined to become greater than her family ever was.

Skills & training.
Excellent schooling
Basic weapons training
Speaks Hapan and Basic
Very good at hair and makeup

Dragon's Breath Obsidian

dark side — amulet — unclaimed

Appearance:
Hanging from an old, black leather cord, a dark aura hangs around this teardrop-shaped amulet. A piece of obsidian is surrounded by antique silver, with a clawed thumb and four fingers reaching out from the thin border to claw at the flawless stone. Within the stone's surface, if held at the right angles, raging fires seem to dance just under the black surface.

Origins:
The origins of the amulet are relatively unknown, with only vague references to it in old Sith records and dusty historical tomes. Most of the time the amulet comes up in conjunction with the same of an old Sith lord, telling of his desire to harness the power of fire to literally consume his enemies in the hunger of the flame.

Rumors of Location:
Many of the historical texts reference an old tomb denoted by a golden dragon's head embossed into the stone.

Function.
In order to activate the power of the amulet, the artifact must be in contact with the skin. This can be the chest (if the amulet is worn around the neck), or even the palm (if the amulet is held in hand). The silver backing will grow hot upon contact, heating up until it's just short of burning the skin it's touching underneath. This burning will be felt regardless of the wearer's tolerance for heat, and will always feel uncomfortably painful.

While the amulet is in contact with skin, the wearer will be able to manipulate and use fire (through pyrokinesis) with ease, allowing them to pull the 'essence' of flame from the amulet to 'create flame from nothing' and use it for longer without the typical stamina drain associated with such actions.

There are some limitations to this amulet. The longer the amulet is actively used (for example, an ongoing continuous stream of flame produced out of the amulet), the hotter and hotter the amulet will become on the user's skin. This will continue until the amulet begins to burn the skin and the pain becomes unbearable.

This amulet is rumored to be cursed, with tales telling of: amulet bearers going berserk, attacking anyone or anything within range the longer and more often they use the amulet, even burning down entire towns.

Intent:
To create a Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

Telepathy Stones
light side — pair of stones — unclaimed

Appearance:
One long, one round, the telepathy stones are a pair of smooth, gray rocks that have been carved to depict the face of a humanoid with an open, whistling mouth.

Origins:
The origins of the telepathy stones as two physical objects are unknown, but their purpose as Force artifacts began with a Jedi master and apprentice that shared an unbreakable bond. The two - Master Stohn and Master Peybl - had many unrecorded adventures together, sticking together through thick and thin, and nurtured a Force bond so strong that after a lifetime of knowing one another, they could be half a galaxy away and still never be separated. Upon their deaths, their Force ghosts possessed these two stones, still inseparable even after their names and deeds had been long forgotten.

Rumors of Location:
Jedi records indicate that it is likely that these stones are located at a Jedi temple, but it is unknown to where said temple is, as they are not located at any of the modern temples. Some reckon the stones might be in the possession of collectors, perhaps separated, perhaps together.

Function.
While in the possession of two force-sensitive individuals, someone possessing a telepathy stone can use the stone to communicate with whoever possesses the other stone. Provided that the receiver is conscious and not actively closing themselves off, and that neither the sender nor receiver is located within a Force void, the message will always be received no matter how great the distance.

However, the stone can only be used thrice a day lest the owner risk overusing the stone and rendering it useless forever. If the stone is used more than three times (for each stone, for a total of six communications), there is a 1 in 20 chance of the stone breaking (a nat 1 on a d20 roll). If this happens, the other stone also becomes useless.

Though the stones were created and are possessed by Force ghosts, dark side users are still able to attempt to use these stones. Communications may occasionally fail when being used by two dark siders. Corrupting the stones might risk banishing the Force ghosts within and thus render the stones useless.

Intent:
To create a Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

She Who Takes
dark side — ritual dagger — unclaimed

Appearance:
The ritual dagger, whose name is carved in the silver blade itself - She Who Takes, is an ancient piece of weaponry. While the blade itself is fairly standard, the handle of the weapon features Death as a skeletal woman, standing with a cloth veiling her head and wrapped around her body. At her feet, a snake slithers toward the blade below where the words 'all belongs to the harbinger of Death' is engraved in ancient ur-Kittât.

Origins:
The dagger was created long before the era of the Consiliul de Sapte, an ancient empire of seven sith lords, but was most famously utilized in the murder of Darth Artis by his apprentice, Darth Avidit. She used the weapon to stab him in his sleep, siphoning the Force from his body and taking it as her own.

Rumors of Location:
Darth Avidit was the last known owner of the ritual dagger, though her final resting place is unknown. The woman took over the criminal empire Darth Artis had built for himself, and though she drove it into the ground, its likely records of her resting place can be found in the underworld somewhere.

Function.
She Who Takes takes when the harbinger of death uses the dagger to slay their opponent. In other words, if a force user is killed with this dagger, the killer will be able to absorb a portion of the slain's Force essence.

However, there are some OOC stipulations for this artifact due to the powerful nature of the ability:
(1) The slain force user must be a player character,
(2) The thread or threads written to acquire this artifact must be substantial (i.e. not 10 posts from A to B),
(3) This artifact can be used with consent from the other player or in a death-enabled PvP thread,
(4) In order to siphon the Force from a slain PC, the dagger must be wielded by whoever killed said PC,
(5) The dagger can only be used once per thread.

Kills using this dagger can be used in conjunction to apply for power-level rank-ups. The kills themselves do not automatically increase a PC's power for PvP purposes.

Intent:
To create a more powerful Force artifact that also ties into my Consiliul de Sapte lore that I have been neglecting.

The Watcher's Watch

neutral — pocket watch — unclaimed

Appearance:
If not for the massive glass eye embedded in the center of the pocket watch's case, the Watcher's Watch would be almost indistinguishable from any other antique gold pocket watch. It is made of solid gold, making it quite expensive, and the 'glass' that domes over the eye beneath appears to be made of some sort of tough crystal - diamond, perhaps.

Within, the clock functions just as any other clock does. There is a second, minute, and hour hand, twelve symbols for each of the hours, and a clear white background to make the black detailing stand out.

When activated, the pocket watch's eye comes to life, looking about and blinking in the same fashion as a real eye might. The movements are unsettling, and those able to see it might be disturbed by the perceived intelligence behind the movements.

Origins:
This pocket watch was created by the Watcher, someone who's name has appeared in so many different obscure and ancient historical texts that many scholars believe them to be a long-dead member of an ancient civilization that predated even the Rakata: the Celestials. Thanks to its ancient origins, the Watcher's Watch has exchanged many hands and has belonged to hundreds if not thousands of people since the death of its original owner.

Rumors of Location:
Many prolific pocketwatch collectors have attempted to obtain this watch for their own collections, and the watch is famous within the pocketwatch collecting community for the fact that it still works after eons of existence.

Function.
The pocket watch allows the user to slow the movements of all those around them within a 10-meter radius. This effect takes place within seconds of activating the artifact, forcing its will strongly upon those nearby. It lasts thirty seconds or the full rotation of the second hand.

This item is not allowed to be used in PvP.

Intent:
To create a decently powerful Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

Ahurani's Ring
light side — ring — unclaimed

Appearance:
Made of a crystalline material and encased partially in a golden band with oceanic reliefs, Ahurani's Ring, or the Ring of Ahurani, is a beautiful piece of art created to appear like a wave crashing into the golden sands of the gold band.

Origins:
The ring belonged to an ancient and powerful Force user by the name of Ahurani who also believed to have created the ring herself. Ahurani was apart of a now long-forgotten group of Light Side Force users who focused their teachings on healing. Over the years, Ahurani's natural talents for healing began to seep into the ring, turning a beautiful but ordinary ring into a powerful artifact.

Rumors of Location:
The location of the ring is unknown, but likely to be located at a temple associated with Ahurani's people.

Function.
Wearing the ring allows someone who has already learned how to use Force healing to more easily do so. Injuries can be healed quicker or healed from more significantly serious conditions. A powerful Force user (3+) in possession of this ring could even utilize the amplified healing abilities to even mend broken minds.

This artifact cannot be used in PvP.

Intent:
To create a Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

Eye of Ancev
dark side — eyeball — unclaimed

Appearance:
Encased in some sort of amber resin, the Eye of Ancev is still able to look about as if it retains some kind of sentience. Once removed from its prison, the iris is revealed to be a sickly yellow color with a pupil permanently constricted into a reptilian slit. Despite being ancient, it's eternally bloodshot and... 'fresh.'

Rumors of Location:
The Eye of Ancev, just like the Hand, has been found and lost a hundred times over. Some believe the artifacts are cursed to repeat this cycle, and thus, the only rumors of its location are of whoever last owned it. The last owner was a Sith Lord from before the time of Palpatine - or even his master's master. No matter where it is, the Eye has certainly found itself in a place difficult to both find and retrieve it from.

Function.
6vxKixi.png
In order to use the Eye of Ancev, one must remove one of their own eyes and replace it with the Eye of Ancev. The Eye binds permanently to the wearer, and should it be removed for any reason, the wearer will perish upon its removal.

When the Eye is inserted, the user will quickly be corrupted further and further toward the Dark Side. This is unavoidable, but with it comes the powers of the Eye:

- The Eye, in general, empowers the wearer's connection to the Dark Side and allows them to use it more powerfully
- The wearer can see - in a way - in a 360° field around themselves, able to sense even though cloaking their presence in the Force. This sight can pass through some objects, but very dense materials (like metal and especially lead) block this vision. This vision has a maximum range of three meters (30 feet).
- At the wearer's want, anyone staring directly into the Eye will be subject to an immense desire to attack anyone in the vicinity - even their own allies.
- At the wearer's want, anyone or anything staring directly into the Eye will be subject to the will of the wearer and forced to follow general commands. This can be resisted, of course, with success tied directly to the difference in power level between the wearer and the intended victim.

There are some drawbacks to be noted:

- The vision, if used continuously without break, will quickly exhaust the wearer.
- Removing the Eye will kill the wearer, no matter whether it is removed willingly or not.
- The Eye will immediately begin corrupting its wearer toward the Dark Side.

Hand of Ancev
dark side — mummified hand — unclaimed

Appearance:
The Hand is, quite literally, a decrepit mummified hand. Old flesh hangs onto bony fingers that end with clawed nails, and when it moves, one can almost hear the creaking of bone and crackling of skin. It stinks of rot and is brittle to the touch, yet it holds such a powerful presence in the Dark Side that any attempt to destroy it is met with unparalleled resistance.

Rumors of Location:
Unlike the Eye, the last owner of the Hand belonged to a Jedi - or rather, a former Jedi who was corrupted quickly after attaching the Hand to themself. Information about this Jedi, who was formerly known as Master Balda before having their title stripped from them, is sparse as records were lost after the fall of the High Republic.

Function.
In order to use the Hand of Ancev, one must cut off their left hand and place the Hand before the wound. The Hand will bind itself permanently to the wearer, and should it be removed for any reason, the user will perish upon its removal.

When the Hand binds to the user, the user will quickly be corrupted further and further toward the Dark Side. This is unavoidable, but with it comes the powers of the Hand:

- Augmented, almost supernatural strength.
- Touching the bare skin of someone will, at the user's want, automatically begin to drain the victim of vitality in a way similar to Force drain.
- Allows the user to teleport a level-appropiate distance.
- Usage of the Force from the Hand (such as lightning channeled through it) will be significantly more powerful (one level above).

There are some drawbacks to be noted:

- If the Hand is not periodically "fed" with Force drain, the user's entire left arm will become consumed with pain so terrible that the user can barely function.
-

4012fac2f6b548d34103e2fc3e3b1ce4.jpg

The Combined Hand and Eye

Origin of Both:
Often thought to have been a wound in the Force, Ancev was an evil man from a time long forgotten. Through his artifacts, he remains an ancient evil, plaguing the galaxy through time as his eye and hand are found and lost again, and again, and again... No one knows why it was specifically Ancev's hand and eye that survived the test of the ages, but being in the mere presence of either sheds any doubt.

Additional Functions:
- When in possession of both the Hand and Eye, one will be able to maintain the sight of the Eye indefinitely, and touching a weak-willed victim will overwhelm their mind, burning their psyche to ashes and allowing the user to absorb their memories.

Additional Drawbacks:
- The user will acquire vulnerability to Lichslayer.
- The user will become extremely vulnerable to complete corruption by the Dark Side, and will without a doubt become significantly corrupted.

Restrictions:
Acquisition of each artifact requires at least:
- A set-up thread, and
- A DM'd acquisition thread.

Certain functions of the Hand and Eye are not usable in PvP:
- x
- x

Intent:
To create a powerful Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

Lichslayer
dark side — sword — unclaimed

Origins:
Ages ago, when Ancev was alive and kicking (babies probably), his most 'trusted' ally was his apprentice, Sakk. Though the Sith did not exist then as we know them today, the Dark Side often whispers of power and creates hatred between master and apprentice. Wishing to kill his master and take his power for his own, Sakk consulted with powerful witches to help him forge a sword capable of killing a wound in the Force. Through some long-lost art they forged Lichslayer, a sword imbued with the raw intention of malice for Ancev and created to be his bane. Sakk used his sword to slay his master, but later fell victim to its corruption, losing himself to the Dark Side.

Rumors of Location:
x

Function.
Wearing the ring allows someone who already knows how to use Force healing to heal much easier and to be able to heal wounds of greater severity.

This artifact cannot be used in PvP.

Intent:
To create a Force artifact that is accessible and usable to Force users of all levels.

Reikki
she/her — dathomirian zabrak — 19 — nightsisters— fs

Summary.
Reikki is a Dathomirian woman and a practitioner of the Nightsister magicks who travels the galaxy with her two sisters, Akkali and Kaiyak, taking on bounties and other similar jobs. She weighs 150 lbs, stands about 6'2", and has distinct facial tattoos.

Biography.
Reikki is a Nightsister born and raised on Dathomir with her sisters, Akkali and Kaiyak. They were both adopted into the Whispering Grove Clan at a young age after their birth Clan was massacred. Despite not being blood of the clan, they were accepted and treated as such regardless. For Nightsisters, the 'blood of the covenant' was always thicker than the 'water of the womb.'

Though she lost her parents, Reikki was much too young to even remember them, and thus her childhood was fairly standard for a nightsister. She grew up learning to hunt and fight with little access to standard galactic technology, and she learned the nightsister magicks from the clan mother. Reikki was happy, but the girl always knew that wanderlust would one day lead her away from her home village and out into the strange, greater galaxy.

After passing her trial, receiving her tattoos, and becoming a full-fledged adult, Reikki and her sisters decided to leave Dathomir behind for the time being to set their sights on the galaxy.

Skills & training.

Hunting, tracking, trapping, etc,
Piloting (questionable).

Weapons & Assets.

Vibroblade,
C4T-Series Protocol Droid, "Marshmallow" (ref),

HYDROKINESIS

DESCRIPTION
Hydrokinesis is the ability to manipulate water with the Force, and it has a surprising many origins. Many water-dwelling peoples, such as the Wrean, Nautolans, Mon Calamari, etc. all have records of hydrokinesis being used by Force users in their cultures, which cannot be found surprising considering the environment in which these species dwelled. Terrestrial peoples discovered their own ways of using hydrokinesis as well, but there is a notable difference between the usage of hydrokinesis between terrestrial and aquatic peoples.

The most common usage of hydrokinesis by those who are living or working in an aquatic environment would be current manipulation. The manipulation or creation of currents allows hunters to corral or catch marine animals or can be used to redirect an attacker (such as a charging shark) out of striking distance. Extended use of this current manipulation can be quite taxing, and groups are often used for larger applications (like in "fishing"), but it is still a more efficient way of manipulating water than brute forcing it via the Force alone. More small-scale usages, like swiping something out from in front of you or using it to help propel yourself more quickly through the water, require less concentration and strain.

The most common usage of hydrokinesis by terrestrial users would be the most iconic and recognized usage of the ability: floating, swirling, and otherwise manipulating water free of a container for a very large variety of purposes. Hydrokinesis is not easily utilized as an offensive ability, so most users of hydrokinesis employ it for defensive and (primarily) utility purposes. An example of a defensive use would be as follows:
When fighting in an environment in which ample water is readily available (such as a pool, stream, lake, etc.), a wave of water can be thrust up in front of an individual to defend against blaster shots. The plasma from the bolts would strike the water, causing a Leidenfrost effect, and dissipating the blaster bolt into a puff of steam. This would not suffice as a long-term solution (in terms of combat) as a continuous barrage of blaster bolts would break the effect and such a wave is hard to keep static, but it works well as a temporary barrier thrown up on reaction or reflex.
Additionally, an example of a utility use of hydrokinesis would be moving water to different containers, drenching something, or creating an air bubble around one's head when diving.

As an ability, hydrokinesis has a low-skill floor but a high-skill ceiling. This means that although the most basic applications of hydrokinesis are not too difficult to learn, it takes significant time and effort to master the ability to the point of being able to use its most difficult applications, namely in combat. For example, a Jedi padawan would be able to learn to manipulate water out of its container and swirl it around slowly without much effort. However, it would take years of training to be able to move that water quickly enough to use it as a barrier or to manipulate it quickly, perhaps on becoming a knight. Masters of hydrokinesis would have years of experience and thus would be able to use the ability offensiveness, such as slicing quickly enough to cut or using it conclusively against opponents. An example follows:
The speed and pressure of the water manipulated directly correlate with the damage that can be done when using hydrokinesis offensively. As pictured above, keeping a reserve of water around a user and punching projectiles out of it is one commonly used tactic by masters. Additionally, manipulating thin, highly pressurized streams of water can be used to cut flesh or slice certain objects.

It should be noted that hydrokinesis and cyrokinesis, though the abilities surround the same element (water), are very different applications of the Force and knowledge and experience in one do not translate to the other due to the nature of how differently the Force must be used to manipulate water and ice.

NOTE: Hydrokinesis cannot be used to manipulate blood or other biological fluids.

Intent
To add water manipulation to the repertoire of element-based force abilities.

Sith Champions @Ambrosia and @Lux Avery discovered an old warehouse on Zeltros after a chance meeting, leading to them removing (killing) the former inhabitants, members of a street gang called the Tunnel Snakes. Now that the facility has been cleared of any pests, its time for the Sith to start sowing seeds of influence among the locals. Also, the warehouse needs some attention.

Overarching Goal: Creating a "charitable" cover for the Sith base on Zeltros allows the warehouse to 'hide in plain sight' as a well-meaning organization that definitely is only helping the local disenfranchised populace and is definitely not influencing them in any way at all. Additionally, creating power vacuums within said populace and influencing local politicians to support the organization funnels more power/influence into said base, potentially bringing funds, influence, and even supporters to the Sith while remaining undercover.

— Sith Charity

Ask, Self-DM, Influence | [thread] | Participants: (2-3) @Ambrosia
Taking control over the warehouse was one thing, but turning it into something legitimate is another. In order for the warehouse to properly function as a base for the Sith, it'll need a front so that suspicions aren't drawn our way. The warehouse is located in the poorer regions of Zeltros' capital city, providing the Sith with the perfect cover: charity.

Sith joining Ambrosia on this mission should be willing and able to adopt a 'charitable' public persona to aid her with her establishment of the front.

— Snakes in the City

Ask, Self-DM, Combat | [thread] | Participants: (2-3)
Though the Tunnel Snakes occupying the warehouse were dealt with, it's possible that more exist out in the streets of the capital. Find, them, deal with them, but most importantly, don't let it lead back to you.

Sith joining this mission will be informed that the Tunnel Snakes used to have a deadly rivalry with another gang called the Street Cats run by a man named Russk. Use this information to your advantage. It might even be advantageous to get rid of the Street Cats too. To, you know, create a little bit of a power vacuum.

— Be-Warehouse

Ask, Self-DM, Exploration | [thread] | Participants: (2-3)
When a crew of acolytes was brought in to clean up the mess left behind by the Tunnel Snakes (including themselves), they discovered a barricaded lower level of the warehouse. Of the initial acolytes that ventured down to check it out, only two returned, unnerved and citing stories of decayed AMS zombies and other weird occurrences. However, they also said that the level seemed to go much further down.

Sith joining this mission are tasked with clearing out whatever creatures, abominations, or other messes lie below and then surveying the extent of these lower levels. Having a 'secret' lower level to the warehouse could allow for more sensitive operations to occur under the nose of those visiting the upper levels, but it all depends on what lies beneath.

— Pride and Politics

Ask, Self-DM, Influence | [thread] | Participants: (2-3)
Zeltros is well known for its party life, but past the partying lies a corrupt world of politicians and the corporations that back them. In order to expand Sith influence on the planet and gain resources without sounding off any alarms, it is necessary to plant the seeds of influence from a more legitimate standing.

Sith joining this mission should be inclined toward diplomacy, compromise, and manipulation; violence and brutism will not be well served here. Two politicians are currently campaigning for control over the district in which the warehouse lies; find an ally in one of them with promises of political support and influence among the local population (or something just as adequate) and help pave their way to victory in exchange for their monetary and/or vocal support of the new 'charity' non-profit.

Sephi

"She stood still as a statue, her face perfectly frozen like she was handcrafted from marble and stone. The only indication that she was displeased with the situation was the irritated twitch of her fluted ears each time his Twi'lek associate opened his mouth. Her silver eyes, surrounded by soft white lashes, stared down at the two of them with thinly veiled distaste. He knew the Sephi were hard to please, but it hadn't thought it would be impossible." — Guy Rohtua, Two Weeks on Thrusta

The Sephi were a species of tall, unemotive, sentient humanoids native to the wooded planet Thrusta. They are known far across the galaxy for their towering heights and long, fluted ears — as well as their xenophobic attitudes toward any who are not themselves.

.
Biology & appearance
.

.
Morphology & physiology

The first impression of a Sephi individual may be one of comparison; aside from their ears, they appear quite similar to humans, albeit tall and sometimes oddly colored. They have four limbs, four fingers and an opposable thumb on each hand, and the same secondary sex characteristics as humans. Though the Sephi can be heavy-set or built and muscular, they are often lanky with narrow waistlines and long fingers. Literature and popular media often describes the Sephi as “graceful”, and many Sephi do seem to display a better innate sense of balance than most humans.

Their ears are their most defining feature — other than their towering height — which are pointed and extend out, down, or upward from their skulls. Their ears play a huge part in the Sephi’s impressive sense of hearing, the length and flexibility allowing even the smallest of sounds to reach them. This does, as one might expect, also make them sensitive to sound sounds. Their second most defining feature (or third, if you include height), is their particularly unexpressive facial muscles. Stoicism is a trait of the Sephi personality, but even those who lack strong stoicism themselves will often be very unexpressive, and indications of Sephi emotions are almost exclusively made with the ears. An expression Sephi is a Sephi experiencing very strong, extreme emotions.

A son may share his father’s nose, or a daughter may inherit her mother’s curly locks, and a Sephi child will almost certainly share their parents' ears. Families, even if they have strongly diverse features among themselves, can almost always be grouped by the shape of their ears. Even half-Sephi, though rare, almost always inherit the fluted ears of their Sephi parent. Their height is also often a strong genetic trait passed down to half-Sephi children, but other than that and a certain frigidness of facial muscles, the Sephi do not have any other strong genetic traits.

In general, the Sephi are quite diverse within themselves as well, with all sorts of skin, hair, and eye colors present. A subset of the Sephi, who are often called a variety of colloquial terms, are specifically known for their grey-toned skin, a trait rarely seen otherwise in the species.

.
Reproduction & offspring

The Sephi have notably lengthy pregnancies which average 48 - 51 weeks, or about one galactic standard year at minimum, on average. Length aside, their pregnancies are otherwise identical to human ones, with three trimesters and an identical birthing and conception process. They are not a particularly fertile species, however, and twins are incredibly rare. Triplets, and especially anything beyond that, are so rare as to be nearly unheard of.

Though a strong and well-known cultural taboo, interspecies pregnancies are entirely possible, and pregnancies with human and near-human species face few complications. The Sephi have particularly strong genes when it comes to their height, ears, and facial stoicism, and their children are often noticeably linked to their heritage.

.
Lifecycle

Sephi children mature at a similar rate to humans, with children reaching adolescence at around 13 years old and ending puberty around 18 years, about when they are culturally considered adults. However, the frontal cortex takes a bit longer to fully develop. It usually does so around 30 years old, and it is for this reason that young Sephi are not often truly considered adults until they are well past this age. This, of course, only applies to Sephi within Sephi society; Sephi elsewhere in the galaxy are often judged according to the culture or government where they reside.

Being a long-lived species, the Sephi reach middle age around ??? years old as they can easily live over ??? years, and the most venerable of the species have even lived to ???.

.
Behavior & temperament

The Sephi have emotions. They feel anger, joy, love, and grief just like anyone else. The biggest difference, however, is that the Sephi do not show it. They are (in)famously unexpressive, and rarely show any emotion on their face. Their ears are the most emotive part of them, flattening with irritation or perking up with interest. If a Sephi does happen to express emotion facially, it is only a result of extreme emotion.

.
Society & culture
.

.
Societal hierarchies

Thrusta, the homeworld of the Sephi, has been ruled by a monarchy for millennia, which has created a distinct social hierarchy divided into royals, the aristocracy, and commoners. The planet has a large middle and lower class with only a tiny portion of the population belonging to the upper echelons of society. For the Sephi individuals of Thrusta, society itself is fairly egalitarian. However, society itself is much less merit-based and much more based on personal and familial connections, leading to a lot of nepotism, family businesses, and the like.

Non-Sephi are often the target of xenophobic discrimination, but off-worlders are tolerated within certain spheres, especially if they’re powerful and wealthy or connected to the trade and commerce sectors. None are as discriminated against as the half-Sephi however, who are considered the lowest of the lowest. If they aren’t abandoned by their parents or taken off planet to escape the abuse, most half-Sephi leave Thrusta at the earliest possible chance to escape the discrimination and bullying.

The Sephi’s off-shoot, the Annfyn, elicit a particular distaste from most Sephi as well.

.
Cultural arts

The Sephi have a rich culture cultivated by millennia of symbols, language, norms, values, and artifacts expressed through music, art, architecture, philosophy, religion, and more. In modern times, there is a rich and thriving culture of the arts in particular, found in Thrusta’s love of theatre, music, dance, and the fine arts.

Due to the sensitive nature of Sephi hearing, the most popular forms of music avoid or are almost completely void of harsh, loud, or high-pitched sounds that can irritate the ear. Mainstream music is, instead, often relies on subtle changes in rhythm or melody that become hard to appreciate without an acute sense of hearing. Semitones are quite popular — even microtones — in Sephi arrangements.

Ballet is very popular, as are paintings, sculptures, and other fine art pieces, and these pieces are often created over the span of decades. Though Thrusta is very protective of its art and artists, pieces created are of such high quality that they are highly coveted by wealthy collectors around the galaxy.

.
Diet & food

The Sephi, famously, do not have a spice tolerance. In fact, one could argue that the species has a spice intolerance. Though this is not to say that they do not season their food, as they absolutely do, but in order to find any semblance of spicy food on Thrusta, one would have to find a restaurant selling non-Sephi food (which, considering the planet’s rampant xenophobia, would be difficult even within the trade capital). They also have a very low tolerance for alcohol, and although tolerance varies as usual among the population, it is much lower than your average human’s. Therefore, Sephi wines and other alcohols tend to have a very low alcohol content — rarely above 15% for the strongest drinks.

Additionally, a majority of the Sephi living on Thrusta are vegan or vegetarian. This is not due to any religious or moral reasons and is rather a result of their cultural foods being comprised almost entirely without meat products. Sephi diaspora groups do often adapt meat back into their diets, though many find themselves unable to ingest it, especially if they’ve gone their whole lives without it.

.
Marriage & relationships

The Sephi don't have any particular standout customs when it comes to marriage and relationships, other than, due to their long lives, they tend to have longer-lasting ones and don't often date outside their species. The latter point is, in part, due to rampant Sephi xenophobia, but also due to the pain that watching a loved one grow old and die decades before you will brings.

.
History
.

The Sephi have a long and winding history, but due to their desire to remain isolated and concentrated on their homeworld of Thrusta, have few major historical moments that affect the greater galaxy. The species has been around for millennia, and will likely continue to do so.

DESDEMONA ROSE, LEAD SINGER OF 'DEADSPACE WIVES', CRITICIZED FOR POLITICAL STATEMENTS

Singer sparks controversy online for political statements, fans of the band supportive
————————————————
Desdemona Rose, lead singer and bassist for the Deadspace Wives, received backlash on Tuesday for her controversial political statements regarding the current government of Coruscant. While she was criticized online for these statements, fans and prominent members of her scene voice their support.

The 23-year-old, nor her bandmates, are no strangers to controversy though. Desdemona has been an active voice online on Switter and online forums, and her most recent statements were not the first nor the last ones to spark backlash online. Drummer Bella LaRue ran into trouble last year for criticizing Emryc Thorne, leading to an onslaught by the aforementioned leader's fan club which forced her to apologize for her statements after receiving death threats. Guitarist Raven Pierce has been arrested for civil unrest thirteen times and counting. Keyboardist Hecate is suspected of multiple accounts of arson.

The band itself, however, has seen considerable success and is well-received within its spheres of influence. Deadspace Wives got its start playing at punk and goth shows two years ago, fusing the music cultures into a sort of gothic punk rock. They eventually shifted away from the punk influences and settled more heavily into their goth ones. Their self-titled debut album charted at #3 on Coruscant's goth radio upon release, proving (to them, at least) that this was the right direction for the band.

DEADSPACE WIVES
: THE WOMEN BEHIND THE MUSIC

A brief summary of the iconic four whose newest single"Money Makes Mothers Into Monsters" hit #1 on New Goth Radio this week
———
Desdemona Rose - Lead singer and bassist. Known for her dramatic eyeliner, teased pigtails, and massive boots, Desdemona first proposed starting a band with her three friends in a seedy bar on Level 2131 two years ago. A Coruscanti native, Desdemona was born on the upper levels of the ecumenopolis but was kicked out and disowned as a teenager for her rebellious political affiliations.

Bella LaRue - Drummer. Born to Iridonian immigrants, Bella was banging sticks on buckets since she was three years old. She was radicalized in her youth after joining up with a punk group at her school where she eventually met her long-time friend Raven.

Raven Pierce - Lead guitarist. Raven was introduced to Desdemona by Hecate and brought Bella along into the band with her. A longtime guitar player, by the time Deadspace Wives was formed, Raven had already played in three different bands (one punk, one metal, and one experimental rock group that wasn't too well received).

Hecate - Keyboardist and guitarist. Hecate went to the same GED program as Desdemona where the two bonded over their gothic interests and political ideologies. She invited her to hangout at a local goth club where the two would later meet Bella and Raven. After it was decided that the four of them would form a band, it was Hecate who suggested the name "Deadspace Wives."

FROM HOUSE TO HOME:
A Brief Biography

———
Desdemona was born to second-generation immigrants, with her father from Mirial and her mother from Corellia. Though they were far from wealthy, money wasn't a stressor for them and both her parents were ambitious and hard workers. Her mother was a Czerka "wage-slave", and her father worked on the staff team of a politician.

Presumably sheltered and ignorant until her teen years, upon reaching high school, Desdemona began getting involved in both politics and various music scenes. She could often be found at protests and punk shows, clad entirely in black with her green skin painted stark white. According to some sources, Desdemona's parents tried "everything they could" to get their daughter under control, but the then-teen was eventually kicked out of her home and disowned after her political opinions online became a detriment to her parents' work.

With nowhere else to go, Desdemona couch-surfed at her friends' houses for a bit, trying to stay in school. Eventually, she was forced to drop out, unable to re-enroll without an address or parental guardians. Refusing to register with the state, Desdemona instead ventured deeper into the planet and found refuge in the goth and punk scenes of Level 2131. It was there that she met three other women who would eventually come together with her to form Deadspace Wives.

———

TRIVIA: Tidbits and Fun Facts About Desdemona

6Es0GUi.jpg

Skills -
  • Music - Des loves playing bass. She can play guitar too, but she's always preferred the sound and rhythm of bass lines. And, since she's the lead singer of her band, its a given that she can sing too. She's a mezzo-soprano.
  • Combat - Though not a fighter, Des can and will throw down if need be. She'd an average shot and her right hook isn't all that impressive, but she'll put up a hell of a fight regardless.
  • Others skills - Des got her GED, so she's got an education. She's never flown a ship, but she's practiced on a speeder. Oh, and being half-mirialan means she's got above-average reflexes and flexibility.

Inventory -
  • [Gun] - Des believes words and actions speak louder than violence, but the Galaxy is a dangerous place without a pistol in your pocket.

  • Biography.
Laila was born on Bandomeer and was the youngest of her nine other siblings. Being the youngest, she was always a tad bit spoiled and was both acknowledged and treated as the baby of the family. As a child, she spent most of her free time working on her parent's farm and practicing her Matukai.

After her older brother, Altair, was crowned the King of Eiattu, she was elevated to nobility as "Princess Laila Din." She, along with her parents and her older brother Emir, moved to Eiattu where she only became more spoiled. Like the rest of her siblings, she was expected to learn Matukai martial arts, and she continued her training even in the lap of luxury.

Eventually, though, Laila grew bored with the monotony of royal life and, with her brother and Ma's blessings, joined up with the Imperial Knights as a Squire. She was assigned Kalique Demici as her instructor, but the two did not get off to the best start. Laila, spoiled rotten, defiant and undisciplined, was determined to make things difficult once she decided she didn't like the woman. Still, it seemed Kalique was up to the challenge, and the tiefling's training began.

Their time together would come to a pause though, as Laila went off to complete her academic education. One could only hope she would finally be able to keep her attitude in check once she returned to continue her training under her instructor...
  • Skills & training.
Matukai. As a member of the Din family, Matukai is quite literally "in her blood." Though she's nowhere close to having mastered the martial art, she's been training with her family since she was old enough to run, and she would be considered advanced for her age.

Languages. Laila speaks both Meerian and Basic.

Social media. Though she's always had her nose in it, Laila has become much more active on the HoloNet after becoming a princess. She likes to think she's one of those 'social media detectives' and prides herself on being able to "dig up dirt" on people.

Music. Like most of her family, Laila has a musical ear and spent her childhood playing her siblings' hand-me-down instruments. She prefers stringed instruments (including the piano) and is becoming partial to the violin and cello.
