Greetings~!

I made an account here to discuss with all the seasoned RPers around. You see, I play the mmo called "Star wars: The Old Republic" and I'm currently a Jedi Knight within my order. But the question is, since I wanna do this properly, in what aspects do I need to focus to properly teach my padawan? What should I start with? Any advices?

Thank you in advance!

Honestly, I play the same game. And I rp in it as well. The best way to do it, is to start out as a padawan / apprentice yourself. This way you can learn and really understand how to teach for a certain group.

Trained a few characters. @AlexanderRook

The Code.
Their personality and how to best develop it as a Jedi, as each student is different.

That's your framework with the code and individual expression within it. I like Kaz's idea, that you should try being a padwan yourself for a while if you haven't, or use a second character for that.

If you want a bit more personal advice. I usually try to bring students back to a calm center, and prefer writing my teacher as a guy who has been through a lot, but can always come back to the calm center of the force, no matter what is going on, as a strong core of being a Jedi. That's what he always tries to impart to his students, and depending on the character I generally prefer some practical instruction to get the basics. Go dig a hole with them, hand out food, tend to the injured, plant crops, get the student really humble, and help out the locals somehow on a personal level. Show them how their small simple actions can make a difference, not just the big dramatic moments, which will ground them in everyday reality and make it harder for them to enter a 'fall arc' or seek glory.

That's just some personal advice. All the best.

*If you want my advice for the sith it's the opposite :), go seek the glory, go big for the drama, personal ambition etc.
