Good evening everyone, so I have another fun idea that maybe some people would enjoy. I for one, really love the Lord of the Rings setting and was thinking that maybe some people would like to join me in rping in this time period.

The concept is relatively simple, first, it will take part in the Kingdom of Arthedain, one of the divided Kingdoms of divided Arnor. The reason why I chose this was because I believe this time period has a lot of potential. The High-Kingdom of Arnor was ruled by the heirs of Isildur, the firstborn son of Elendil the Tall. Yet, in the reign of High-King Eärendur, to prevent a disastrous civil war, Arnor was divided amongst his sons. Amlaith inherited the Kingdom of Arthedain while the younger brothers inherited Cardolan and Rhudaur respectively. This led to a lot of conflict, but it was mostly localised border skirmishes. But, the Enemy did not forget that it was Isildur that defeated him, so in order to isolate them more powerful Kingdom of Gondor, he sent his most powerful servant, the chief of the Ringwraiths to eliminate the Kingdoms of Arnor and it founded the realm of Angmar.

This Ringwraith will be known as the Witch-King of Angmar. The Witch-King summoned to him evil men, orcs, trolls, and worst monsters to assist him in tearing down and destroying the Line of Isildur. In the reign of King Mavegil I of Arthedain, the long prepared hammer-stroke fell and the Dunedain king of Rhudaur with his whole family was slain and then allied themselves with Angmar after exterminating the remnants of the Dunedain. King Mavegil forseeing conflict rapidly fortified the Tower Hills and the Watch on Amon Sûl. The Kingdom of Cardolan collapsed next and soon it was only Arthedain standing alone. King Mavegil died peacefully but the North-Kingdom was forever affected. His son Argeleb took the throne and open war broke out. As the sole remaining kingdom of Arnor, he claimed the High-Kingship once more and rallied the people of Arnor for one last stand... Will he be successful and preserve the High-Kingdom of Arnor? Or will he fail and the line of Isildur will fall?

Now that the backstory is over with I will put some character requirements down. The first is that you must, and I mean must (with some exceptions), play a Dunedain. A Dunedain is a man who is descended from the Edain, the men who remained loyal to the Valar and the Elder and fought beside them. They were the exiles from Numenor long lost, and blessed with long lives (numbering anywhere from 130-220) the reasoning is that all positions of power were given to these mighty men. I may also allow a few people to be the Eldar from Rivendell or Lindon. But, they will have to justify why they want to be them and why they would even help. The Eldar did not forget that Isildur kept and lost the Chief-Ring. They are not out to destroy us, but they are not exactly enamoured by us.

Finally, the main goal for this is to explore what it would be like to be in a Kingdom that is long past its glory days and striving to survive against horrifying odds and foes. In the real timeline of events, this war lasted 500 years. There were many heroes for Arthedain and Arnor, but even with the might of the Dunedain they were simply not enough. They failed and it took nearly 2,000 years for Arnor to be restored. Do you think we can do any better? If you're willing to find out sign up below!

Gondor, has their own problems atm, but I'm sure you could be a Knight of Annuminas or a Ranger of Amon Sûl.

This takes place long before the war for the ring.

The Witch-King earned his reputation in this 500 year long war. This is how he became known as the Witch-King of Angmar.

It's been a while, in terms of history where should I go or videos should I watch to get refreshed on everything?

As much as I wish to tell you, there really isn't much about it. All we know is that the men of Arnor failed.

It will be AU, from here on out, but it will be very very tough to succeed.
