DESCRIPTION​

The M12-L Kimogila heavy starfighter is a combat spacecraft manufactured by MandalMotors. Designed and put into production despite Imperial restrictions on the company's portfolio, the Kimogila was commissioned by the Hutt Cartel, and was essentially an enlarged and up-gunned version of the earlier G1-M4-C Dunelizard starfighter. Small batches were made under the table for various clients throughout the Galactic Civil War, and open production began after the liberation of Mandalore.

The Kimogila is 15 meters in length, quite substantial for a starfighter, and is flown by a single pilot assisted by an astromech droid, which is generally mounted in an internal interface socket just behind the pilot seat, taking the place of a navicomputer in terms of functionality. In terms of firepower, the Kimogila is lavished with a pair of heavy laser cannons, medium ion cannons, a 12-shot concussion missile launchers and an 8-shot proton torpedo launcher, making them especially dangerous to larger vessels. Top speed is only 90 MGLT, with average maneuverability; not generally enough for starfighter-on-starfighter combat, but murder on most other craft.

Although now no longer the cutting edge of starfighter technology, the Kimogila is still an excellent machine. Though not as numerous as it once was, the type still retains a significant following, and can still be bought new from MandalMotors on an individual basis. The type is most commonly found in the hands of mercenaries, militias, pirates, gangsters and general fringers.
