The first few posts have already been made in private, so I'll just repeat them here.

Darby: It was dusk on the planet of Utapau. The Feeorin Jedi Knight, named Kreet, had been sent to investigate a disturbance in the system. The Council had tracked it to the surface of Utapau, but were unsure of the origin. In turn, they sent their strongest Jedi Knight to deal with whatever had started this wrinkle in the Force.

Kreet looked around, using his tentacles to feel for others. Apart from the regular civilians, he felt nothing. He smelled nothing unusual, and he could see nothing that was out of the ordinary.

This did not settle Kreet's mind, but rather made him more wary of his surroundings. It was possible this disturbance in the Force was a Sith, and he was glad the Council had chosen him for this mission. It was difficult for Kreet to get himself combat missions, especially solo, but the Council appeared to trust him enough to handle this alone.

Kreet knew Sith were dangerous, especially in this delicate time, where one major event could mean turmoil for the Jedi. He would hunt down whatever was threatening the way of life on Utapau, and he would silence it.

Mkirshnikov: Maerek heard about a possible lead on the group of Jedi he was hunting. It was on Utapau. He'd traveled to Utapau earlier that day and was now searching the village for the hut that was said to house the man who knew where the Jedi were.

Maerek walked through the village, obviously getting stares from the civilians. He ignored the civilians and kept looking for any Jedi, making sure to keep a hand on his lightsaber.

Kreet walked the streets of Utapau, slowly, deliberately. He enjoyed this planet, loved the way life found a way despite the difficulty to survive here. If he were raised on a planet full of sinkholes, he wasn't sure he'd find the same amount of security these civilians did. Then again, Kreet was Feeorin, and being raised around Feeorin was tough enough. You had to be the biggest and the strongest to make sure your role in the clan was worth having. Kreet was both, and he was glad to have earned an opportunity to be a Jedi.

Kreet didn't stop to bother any of the citizens, why would he? They wouldn't know of the situation, if they did, they wouldn't be out here living their daily lives. That was fine with Kreet, the less disturbance, the better. If there was one rule of the Jedi Kreet found easy to obey, it was to never grow an emotional attachment. Other Jedi might care about civilian casualties, but Kreet looked at it as a part of battle. It helped him focus on any task in front of him.

He looked over the side of the platform he was standing on, gazing down into the seemingly endless sinkhole below. Kreet knew at the bottom of these holes lie water, precious to the survival of Utapau, but Kreet paused to wonder if it really was worth it to live here.

Maerek was getting impatient as the area he had left to search shrunk with each step he took, and he still hadn't found the man. He swallowed his pride for a moment and decided to ask someone for directions to the man's hut. He started walking around some more, really not wishing to ask, but if he couldn't find them in a few more minutes, he'd have to ask.

Maerek came across a large Feeorin wearing what looked like Jedi robes. He grinned, knowing he was getting to slay another Jedi this day. He started slowly walking to him, now about 30 feet away. He kept his hand on his saber just in case the Jedi already knew he was there, and decided to pull a fast one.

As Kreet was staring at the architecture carved into the walls of the sinkhole, he was really quite impressed with the ingenuity of these people. He had only been to Utapau once before, and that was for an extraction mission. One of his first as a Jedi.

It was in these moments that Kreet felt something. Kreet knew that he'd been found by whatever he was here to find, just as he'd planned. After all, Kreet was a seven foot tall alien, where was he going to hide? Kreet found the best way to complete a mission was to be as conspicuous as possible. Kreet straightened up, feeling his back crack. He was in the prime of his life, a young two hundred years old. He wasn't worried about anything he would find on this planet, and since he only felt one energy behind him, he knew he wasn't going to be ambushed.

Kreet's muscles rippled under his robe, but he made no move for his lightsaber. Patience was a thing it had taken a long time for Kreet to learned, but he had learned it nonetheless. If this truly were a Sith, as the Council thought, Kreet knew the Sith couldn't resist taking the first blow.

Maerek noted the size of the Feeorin. He wasn't entirely sure just yet if the Feeorin was just wearing robes that happened to look like Jedi robes, or was a Jedi itself. He stopped walking ten feet away from the Feeorin. "Identify yourself, immediately." He demanded. Maerek didn't just initiate a fight in that moment because he was unsure if the Feeorin was really a Jedi. As soon as they identified themselves, either one of two things would happen. A fight, or Maerek would leave and ask for directions to the man's hut.

Kreet smiled. He heard the anger in the voice behind him, but since he was given the opportunity to speak, Kreet wondered if this was a Sith Lord, or just a hunter of Jedi. Kreet turned, slowly. He wasn't attacked when his back was turned, but he didn't need to seem aggressive in his motions.

"My name is Kreet. May I ask who you are?" Kreet took in everything he could about the man in front of him. Human, with an angry scowl. Not short, but no where near Kreet's size. The human didn't look weak, but that was in human standards. Kreet noted the length of the man's arms, this was important.

Kreet's lightsaber was hidden. If a fight could be avoided for now, he would like to report to the Council that this may indeed be a Sith, and if Kreet should take him alive.

"Credyth." Maerek replied. His frown grew as Kreet didn't state if he was a Jedi or not. He just decided to plainly ask. "I see your robes. Are you a Jedi? If you are, it's quite interesting. A Feeorin Jedi."

He realized at this time that asking that, instead of where he got the robes, probably wasn't a good idea. He gripped his Lightsaber's pommel, getting ready to grab and activate it.

Kreet laughed. "A Feeorin Jedi. That would be something. That hasn't happened in a long time. These robes are mine, yes." Kreet didn't specify in his answer if he was, in fact, Jedi or not, but once he saw the man across from him grip his weapon, he knew the chances of talking his way out of his were slim.

Kreet took a second to note where he was standing. The edge of the platform, with the sinkhole directly behind him. It was a long fall, and not one Kreet intended to try and survive. This didn't give him the disadvantage, however, it gave him a pretty decent footing against his opponent. Humans only got so strong, Kreet wasn't going to lose a shoving match.

Taking a deep breath, feeling the Force in his lungs, Kreet used his head tentacles to feel for the emotions of the civilians walking around the platform. They had no idea what was happening, which Kreet thought was for the best.

Kreet slid his robe off, picking his lightsaber off of his belt. "I assume you're looking for this, friend."

Maerek's frown turned to a grin as Kreet pulled out his lightsaber. "Exactly what i was looking for." Maerek grabbed his lightsaber and powered it, his grin growing even more when he heard the powerful ignition. He held out his arm and powered his lightshield, taking his fighting stance.

Kreet had been wondering what the man was holding on his other arm. It turned out to be a lightshield, which was annoying. Kreet could deal with a lightshield, but he'd have to change his tactic. Kreet felt the curved hilt of his saber, and was glad he left his Padawan behind. He'd only get in the way of this fight.

"I don't suppose you'd put the shield down and fight like a man, huh?" The taunt was nonsense, but Kreet chuckled anyway. He was funny for a Feeorin, no matter what the other Jedi said. Kreet lit his saber, the blade slightly longer than most other lightsabers, a specification Kreet was very adamant on. Kreet had long arms, could reach further than most, and having a longer saber meant he was almost always safe from counterattacks.

Kreet's lightsaber glowed a bright blue, reflecting his desire to protect, unlike green lightsabers, who's users desired peace. Kreet shook his tentacles, ready to see what this human was capable of.

"Whenever you're ready."

Maerek swung his lightsaber into the ground a few times, cutting into the platform. He grinned, as doing that before a fight was just plain satisfying to him. He charged Kreet, shield raised. His lightsaber would be off to the side, ready to make a stabbing attack.

Kreet bent his knees as his opponent charged. He made as many notes as he could, Maerek ran very quickly. Kreet noted the stance, the way Maerek held his saber, how the shield fit on his arm. When Maerek was on top of him, Kreet leapt over him, taking a swing at the shield, testing the durability.

The shield held firm, and Kreet rolled when he hit the ground, ending on his feet. He bent his legs again. He wasn't very agile for a Feeorin, but he was still more agile than a human. Little pink flesh bags. Kreet tensed the muscles in his legs, and sprinted at Maerek, who was turning towards him. Kreet's intent was to shove him off the platform, now that Maerek was facing the pit.

Maerek saw the Feeorin sprint towards him. He took a step to the side and swung his lightsaber straight for Kreet's midsection.

Kreet saw his opponent's feet move. It was to be expected, but Kreet also had to factor in the counterattack. He dug his feet in, sliding several inches. Kreet studied Djem So extensively, which allowed him the technique of fighting reverse-grip on his lightsaber. It was one of the reasons Kreet used a curved hilt, it swung in his hand to allow changing grips more easily.

Kreet came to a halt as Maerek's lightsaber swung towards him. He spun his lightsaber, using a reverse-grip to deflect to potential blow. Maerek was no slouch with a blade, Kreet was learning that quickly. Luckily for the Feeorin, neither was he.

Kreet swung several times, switching grips between blows. Maerek deflected each, but Kreet wasn't trying to strike a death blow. He was simply attempting to back the Sith up, so they were both away from the danger of the sinkhole. This also allowed the noise of clashing sabers to echo through the sinkhole, alerting the public to the fight. Kreet didn't care if civilians died during his fights, but he was still a Jedi, and he had to try and keep them safe if he could.

The civilians fled the area as the Jedi and Sith clashed on the platform. Kreet kept an eye on their progress, knowing the fight could get more serious once they were alone. Kreet slammed his blade against Maerek's, the sparks lighting the platform floor.

"It's a beautiful day for this, isn't it?"

"I don't give a damn about the day." Maerek growled as their blades clashed. He pushed his lightshield against his saber, giving him more power to push against the Feeorin.

The lightshield was still a problem for Feeorin, it would be difficult to make any sort of headway while he was holding it. Kreet figured it was attached pretty tightly, so attempting to yank it off with the Force would prove futile and would only leave Kreet vulnerable for several seconds.

Of course, Kreet was willing to fight all day, but it was possible the Utapaun military would organize in response to this threat and just try to blow them both up. That would be a poor end to this fight, Kreet had no plans to be vaporized today.

Kreet felt the power of the Sith in his push, but humans only got so powerful. This human could be as strong as possible, but his strength could not match Kreet's. In this position, Kreet could easily shove back and cut the Sith in two, but the shield prevented him from doing this. Kreet couldn't win this one with pure strength, as his opponent was well-guarded.

Kreet slid his blade out from the locked position, and slashed his saber at Maelek's feet. Maelek jumped quickly, but Kreet used the Force to twist one of Maelek's feet while he was in the air. Kreet struck as Maelek landed, knowing it would take a second for Maelek to get his bearings.

However, the lightshield came in handy once again, as Maelek pulled it to his side and prevented Kreet from landing a blow. Kreet flexed his legs, and used the Force to propel himself several yards backwards. Kreet breathed in deeply, gripping his saber in both hands. He planted his feet, if offense wasn't proving successful, perhaps defense would.

Maerek had landed on his twisted foot, falling on his rump. He growled as he scrambled back to his feet, re-assuming his fighting stance. After a moment, he heated up the air in and around his left hand before starting to walk towards Kreet.

Kreet held his ground, noticing the visible heatwaves coming from Maerek's left hand. There was one good thing about this, if Maerek got too hot, his shield backings would melt, disabling the lightshield. This would end the stalemate, because they'd fight till the end of time otherwise.

Kreet had no defense for heat, but he was willing to take a few scars if it meant capturing a Sith. It was possible for him to concentrate the Force in a defensive manner, much like Maerek was using it offensively. This could guard him from this new weapon, but Kreet didn't know how long that would hold.

Kreet scanned the immediate area for ways to avoid getting caught in this potential inferno. There were platforms he could jump to, pipes he could break and use as projectiles, and since the civilians were out of the way, Kreet didn't have to worry about anyone else taking damage from this.

As Maerek approached, the heat intensified.

Maerek threw out a plume of fire straight at Kreet the second he felt he was close enough, running right behind the flames with his shield raised and saber ready to strike once again.
