When the flames hit his body, Kreet knew he had a couple seconds. However, he wasn't expecting the rush from Maerek. He got his lightsaber up at the last second, blocking multiple blows from the enemy lightsaber, but he had to deflect the lighshield with his free hand, swatting at the backings of the shield. Kreet felt the sting as part of his skin connected with the shield, but he was not dead.
Kreet could feel the fire, but the Force had surrounded his body, keeping him safe. It was also surrounding Maerek, ironically Kreet could not protect only himself, since Maerek was fighting so close. The heat was intense, but neither of them were burning. Not yet.
Kreet had a split-second thought. He released the Force, allowing the fire to engulf the both of them. He felt the fire lick his blue skin, and he focused the Force once again, using it to leap up and backwards, onto a platform above them. Kreet hoped the fire had damaged Maerek, and Kreet had to strip his top off. It had caught fire during Kreet's escape.
Looking at the platform below, he saw the fire disappearing around Maerek, and he used the Force to yank several pipelines free, hurling them at the Sith below. Kreet wasn't used to using the Force for combat, but he needed a slight distraction. Kreet had practiced using the Force to heal very thoroughly, and took a deep breath, feeling the burns on his skin fade. He needed concentration, but it would take several seconds for Maerek to catch up, and that's all the Feeorin Jedi needed.
