Mal is one of those studious Padawan with a tendecy to think more of the ethereal nature of the Force then the physical universe surrounding him. This has created something of an aloof personality. Mal can be surprisingly ignorant of the happenings in the world around him but still manage to recite verses of Jedi lore. This calm demenour has been known to occassionally break and is something that Mal strives to correct. An overwhelming desire to learn usually suffuses whatever activity he undertakes.

Mal has been at the Jedi Temple on Corusant for his entire life. Born to Parents Meagan Nox and Lol Tellun Mal knows only that the two were merchants involved in activities in the Core Worlds. In step with Jedi customs Mal has not recieved nor sought any contact with his parents since beginning his path down the Light Side of the Force. His early years were marked with all the usual learning curbs typical of a potential Jedi Knight. Mal has been known to skip out on the occassional physical class with the promise of spending more time burried amongst the holobooks of the Jedi Archives. At first a trait encouraged by his masters his insaitable lust for knowledge has since been recognised as something that while honest in spirit can prove rather difficient in reality. Set firmly on the path of the Jedi Consular, Mal's instructors have made it clear that they intend to see his lack of lightsabre knowledge rectified. Fast approaching the age when one traditionally enters the apprenticeship of a Jedi Knight, Mal readies himself for another step in the life-long process of mastering the mysteries of the Force.
