HISTORY
The history of the Mandalorian people is one nearly as ancient and deep as the Galaxy itself. Hailing from the planet of Mandalore in the Mid-Rim, the Mandalorian people have always been an agrarian society of skilled warriors. The people of Mandalore remained relatively secluded to their sector until the rest of the galaxy stumbled upon them. Upon discovery of the Jedi, the Mandalorians began to dedicate their research and design into a way to combat the Force, and neutralize the disturbing threat that the Jedi posed.

This ultimately led to the birth of Mandalorian Supercommandos, the most fearsome and professional warriors in the galaxy. During the war with the Old Sith Empire the Mandalorians remained largely independent, but they suffered greatly as a front line between the Empire and the Republic. In the aftermath of the war the clans were in poor shape, and eventually under the rule of Mand'alor the Conformer Mandalore was brought into the fold of the Republic.

For years, Mandalore was a steadfast member of The Republic. For years their legendary warriors were thrown to the front lines of Republic conflicts. When the Sith attacked, again, it was the Mandalorians who held the border; defending the opulence and sloth of the core worlds from an enemy that seemed impossible for them to be rid of.

During this practical slavery by the Republic, Mandalorians drifted from their home to work for credits as mercenaries, bounty hunters, and hired security. Such work is dishonorable according to traditional Mandalorian values, but these people were left with no other course of action under the yoke of the pacifistic Republic. The oldest and most infamous of these mercenary groups, known as Ha'rangir's Chosen, once served the old gods of battle with unmatched devotion, but time had waned their resolve. While the culture around them deviated from such ancient religion, so too did they, becoming more focused on credits than honor or tradition. According to the old law, the war god Kad Ha'rangir executes his will through his chosen people, Ha'rangir's Chosen; but during hours of great darkness in the galaxy, when The Chosen have turned away from their Lord, he will intervene through one of his priests, and intervene he did. Ha'rangir spoke to his proxy, War Priest Mikha'el, and instructed him to anoint a new leader for the group. That leader was Prudii Kyramud, of clan Kryze. Kyramud led a coup against the then current leader of the Chosen, Caedryn Vizsla. The Warriors of the Chosen were split in two, some choosing to follow Kyramud's regime, and others following Vizsla into exile.

From the ashes of the fractured chosen came Death Watch. The origin of their name traced millennia back, further than recorded history. The Death Watch were not mercenary in the way the chosen had been, they fought with purpose, committing themselves to the radical fight for a free and powerful Mandalore, above all else. They were ruthless, crusading through the Galaxy, seizing territory Outer Rim, before staging an invasion of Mandalore itself. The fighting for Mandalore was intense, and pitted Mandalorian against Mandalorian. At the end of the day, when the dust settled, the Death Watch invaders stood victorious, and the Republic forces ran like scared dogs from the newly claimed Mandalorian soil. Once they took Mandalore, the glorious mission of the Death Watch was complete. Mandalore and her sister worlds, Concord Dawn, and Kalevala, once again joined under one flag, and the Mandalorian Dominion was born. Free of the Republic, free of the Sith. Free.

Immediately upon formation of the Dominion, Prime Minister of the Dominion, Veryc Almec, censured Mand'alor Prudii Kyramud, leader of Death Watch, for allying with the Sith in their campaign for independence; particularly for his recklessness in aiding their attack on Coruscant. He seized power and immediately set about securing Mandalorian territory, promising safety and security to any worlds that would join Mandalore in its new sovereign government, while also disbanding the old Death Watching, and disowning its actions and leaders. Upon Kyramud's death at Coruscant and the rise of Mand'alor Talia Al'saif, Veryc welcomed the new Mand'alor with open arms, supporting her as a leader worthy of the title. Since his death, Kyramud has again been hailed as a hero to the Dominion, known forever as
Manda'lor the Reclaimer. Questionable as his actions may have been, he freed us from the Republic with his life, and from the Sith in death.

Following their establishment, the Dominion continued its growth at a rapid pace, expanding to control the entirety of the Mandalorian sector, as well as the nearby Eshan and Prackla sectors. This rapid expansion was not without growth pains, and as such strife began to brew between the Prime Minister's office, which desired alliances with the galactic powers, and Mand'alor, who argued that the Mandalorians would simply be enslaving themselves all over again if they allied with the Sith—and that an alliance with the Jedi was out of the question (as the Mandalorians and the Jedi had always been enemies). During this period of strife, Ral Vizsla returned from his exile and made a bid for the position of Manda'lor. In the end, his warring faction won out, and the Prime Minister's office was abolished in favor of a more militaristic leadership to the Dominion—which would rely upon the clan-rule of the ancient Mandalorians.
