Mandalorian Vault
"A relic of a bygone era when Mandalorians had reason to imprison you Force-wielding maniacs."
- Bo-Katan Kryze to Ahsoka Tano

The technological marvels of the Mandalorians are vast and many of them consist of weapons or tools of war. But the Mandalorian Vault, also known as the Mandalorian Sarcophagus is another invention that speaks to their capabilities. From penal colonies to dungeon ships, Mandalorians have a history for capturing Jedi and Sith alike. It is no wonder they created a mobile containment unit to safely transport dangerous prisoners with an affinity for the Force.

There used to exist multiple Mandalorian Sarcophagi though it is unclear how numerous they were. The vaults were outlawed prior to the Clone Wars and may have been a contributing factor towards their limited numbers. A single special exception was kept with the excuse being it served as a reminder and educator for cultural purposes. The last recorded use of the Mandalorian Sacrophagus was 19 BBY, noted as being used to hold the infamous Darth Maul in the wake of the Siege of Mandalore.

Unfortunatly, Darth Maul would later be freed onboard the Republic Venator class star destory, the Tribunal. Sabotage to the ship would cause it to fall out of hyperspace and subsequently crash on an unidentified moon. Little is known about what system the Tribunal dropped into but there are many planets and even more satellites that orbit them sitting between Mandalorian space and the Core. The last remaining Mandalorian Vault may be lost to the ages and its inner workings a mystery.

The Mandalorian Vault negates any force user's ability to wield the Force. Its restraints are essentially inescapable once locked into place. There only exists a single small window at eye level for a prisoner to be seen and see out of. A self contained life support unit can keep the prisoner alive even if the sarcphagus is subjected to extreme damage or environmental hazards like the vacuum of space. The exterior is masterfully carved and an art piece in its own right. The material used is in fact pure beskar making it worth a fortune. Depictions of mandalorians fighting Jedi were on the last known sarcophagus though some say each had their own unique work of art to signify great accomplishments and heavy sacrifice.

Intent
Site lore. I wanted to add more depth to the mandalorian culture and to make use of a canon artifact. I plan to have one of my character discover and possibly reverse engineer this technology through story.
