I see how you could think that...but they are not Martians :)

I'm glad to hear that. I don't like them Martians. Filthy, disgusting creatures. :CStern

These I like. The thin skin and easy-to-bleed thingie is an interesting feature. :D

Yes I debated that for a bit...thick skin or thin skin >.> then I decided have thick skin would be kind of an advantage and really wasn't all that necessary. Being thin skinned and suceptible to bleeding sounded okay (since it's actually a RL skin disease) and hey village wars+lots of bleeding=population control

What's a Terran?

Also, going by what you've written here, Marisans are actually -taller- on average than humans. The average height of a human male is 5'7".

So, in essence, what you have made here are Humans that are slightly taller, slightly more voulnerable, slightly more prone to intelligence, and are stuck in a period of social evolution analogous to Real World Earth's Dark Ages, including their fear of the Force.

While I'm not Johnny, given the sheer number of species that people try to submit, and the fact that another species was recently rejected for simply being "reskinned humans", I'm sorry to say that this most likely won't get approved in it's current status.

In my opinion, you can still use the Marisans, but make them regular humans (since there's really no noticeable difference between Marisans and Humans), stuck on an isolated planet somewhere in the deep Outer Rim/Wild Space/Unknown regions, which have had cause to develop such sociological features (the only real difference here, and not unique ones at that), rather than trying to shoehorn in a brand new species.

Sorry I thought I had caught all of the instances where I had used the word Terran. I picked it up watching Star Trek and can't shake it. (Stupid Spock >.>) It means Human since Earth=Terra or something like that

I'm still kinda working on this...I was having doubts on what I wanted them to look like and where they came from when I wrote this up but I have decided exactly what I want to do with them now. Thank you for the feedback though. :) But it's amazing what a good night's sleep can do for you. I'm going to work on this right now and revise it

Edit: And the height thing...I didn't really know how tall the average Human male is :/ My dad is super tall and I don't know why I automatically think everybody is over 6 feet tall when I know they aren't :p

From now on I refuse to post important stuff after 10pm -_- I really should wait until morning when my heads more clear.

ReEdit: I came back to read what you had written...and realized what you had written was exactly what I had in mind only slightly different. :/ :D

I wrote more on the planet and added some history to it. I'm currently working on their current/new Queen

Per the usual standard this species doesn't seem to be bringing anything new to the site or the SW lore. I believe we even have a lower end tech species who are a bit hesitant around the Force and live on a Pangaea planet. They are called the Snamareg and were created by the member TweedPawn.

As Kiro stated, this species seems very much like it could just be served up as humans or another near-human species.

They are humans, I admitted that. They are genetically altered by the planetary radiation and have gained their differences that way. They have become resistant to the radiation.

But after so much time on the planet, the way the radiation altered them, and their isolation, they have come to see themselves as a separate species.

Johnny is trying to avoid the idea of "human" species. Especially ones that offer so little to the lore, which is already very rich, with over 200 canon species, and the dozens of fan-made ones here. Unless they bring something starkly different to the table, I doubt he'll go for it.

I also find it amusing how many people believe radiation + mutation = new viable species. Thanks 80s comics!

Usually, radiation, especially in mammalian species with alot of soft tissue like humans + radiation = Radiation poisoning, cancer-analogues, impotency, hair-loss, and a long, slow, painful death. All of those are usually detrimentary to the propagation of a species, nevermind turning it into a new one.

And Hatter, I'll leave behind the tip I always leave behind in Species threads: Your best friend for these things is logic. Ask yourself "Why would this species have evolved this feature? How does it allow them to be superior and survive better than their ancestors/competitors that don't possess this feature? What caused it to evolve? How did the mutation spread?" Follow that guideline, and you'll end up with a well-thought out species, that can easily explain whatever wacky features you want. Most of the time anyway.

Thanks, you guys, for the tips. Obviously I don't know what I'm getting myself into so I'm going to give the entire idea a rewrite. While I may not have the species I had in mind originally, I think I have a much better idea now. :)
