Megaera

Megaera, known to some as simply "Meg", was a female Dathomirian nomad who wandered the Galaxy during the Force Eternal era.

Biography

Born the daughter of a Nightsister of Dathomir and an unknown off-worlder, Meg was considered an outcast among her own people and ostracized from the very moment she first arrived on Dathomir. Meg's mother, Melia, was a Nightsister wandering the Galaxy, working as a spy and assassin, when she met her father. Another assassin who was hired by the same crime lord to kill a rival, the two spent a night together that resulted in Meg's birth a year later. Melia returned to Dathomir when Meg was five years old, having already trained the child in the basics of shadow magick. Upon her return to Dathomir Melia soon became the First of her Clan, a position she had long refused but now took up to protect her daughter.

But while none dared do her physical harm, for fear of angering her mother, Meg was never really welcomed in the tribe. She did no look like she belonged, looking more like her father than her mother, and she was never allowed to forget that. Though she took after her mother and excelled in everything she did, and grew up to be a powerful Nightsister in her own regard, she was denied the traditional tattoos of a Dathomirian, as punishment for her mother for mating with an outsider. This only made her stand out even more amongst her peers. When the Sith took over Dathomir, Melia knew that her own power would no longer be enough to protect her daughter. So she did the one thing she could do, had Meg sent out into the Galaxy to serve the tribe beyond Dathomir's borders as she herself had once done. But Meg knew, as most did, that she would never return, for Dathomir might never again be safe for her.

Personality

Meg is temperamental, impulsive, and prone to emotional outbursts. Raised in an environment where she was always forced to prove herself and almost never given the appreciation she thought she deserved, she has developed a big inferiority complex. It manifests itself in her tendency to see everything as a challenge, always trying to prove herself. Unsurprisingly she is severely lacking in self-confidence, hiding it behind a mask of arrogance and bravado. Which is not to say that she is all bad, she does have a kind heart, and genuinely loved her mother. As a child she was forced to raise a pup and kill it as part of her training to serve the Nightsisters as an assassin, but instead of becoming cold and detached, her rebellious nature made her see it as a challenge and she seeks to protects animals where-ever and whenever she can.

Abilities

A practitioner of shadow magick, and a powerful one at that, Meg is a deadly foe with or without a weapon. Trained by her mother, a power Nightsister who served as the First of their Clan, Meg was also trained in espionage, assassination, on top of the traditional magick and combat training that most received.
