Mission of Mercy​

In Character​

The galaxy has been ravaged on one side by AMS and on the other by the war between galactic powers. In the middle, the civilians and innocent people of the galaxy suffer. For this reason, Jedi healer Zathria At'Arel has put out a call to any who will answer in order to join her in helping those in need.

The Galactic Mercy will be a ship without faction, borders, or allegiance. Composed of volunteers, the ship will travel to areas afflicted by disease and war and provide much-needed medical care. Performing surgeries and providing medicine to those in need, the Galactic Mercy will be a not-for-profit operation that relies on donations and volunteers for support.

Out of Character:​

This is an idea that was inspired by the real life Mercy Ships. This is open to Jedi, independents, or most any medically inclined character that is interested in joining. Non-medical characters who want to serve as crew or volunteers are welcome to join as well.

The goal is to RP a very down-to-earth series of threads to run a medical ship where everything has to be done from start to finish.

This thread will serve as both an interest check/sign-up for future alerts as well as a sign-up for the first phase to get the ship off the ground (ha, see what I did there. Off the ground. You all are welcome. Suffer.)

Stage 1​

Fundraising! Whether through holonet ads, holowebsites, standing on a corner, or lobbying wealthy donors, this operation will never get underway without funds to purchase and fuel the ship. It is your job to begin raising the funds necessary to get this operation airborne ().

Those who are interested are welcome to grab a partner and jump in by posting a thread! DM, self-DM, dice, or whatever else you'd like to do. The more funding for the operation, the better and smoother things will be! There's no requirements for how often people post in the threads, but I'm hoping to do another thread with people purchasing/inspecting the ship in the next couple of weeks, so if the fundraising threads can be finished by then, that would be helpful.

Please post below if you're interested in signing up and feel free to use this as a thread to find a partner as well!

I alluded to this in the OP, but there were some questions, so just to clarify: for the first phase (fundraising), you guys will be posting your own threads to fundraise however your character would go about doing that (some possible examples are in the OP). So feel free to group up in 2s or 3s to start working on threads. If you wouldn't mind linking your threads here for tracking, I'd appreciate that! :D

@Phoenix, although I might not have the time myself, I've been wondering if @Reyn and @Charndley could make use of the ship we acquired for the Jedi, but never got listed on the asset tracker due to various circumstances. Since it stood there for a while, unclaimed, I guess there'd be some fee in order for claiming it/finding the crew, fuel, and whatnot.

That is, unless you have a different plan for the ship you'd like to use.

I appreciate that! Could I perhaps get back to you on that? Logistically, we'd probably want something at least the size of a frigate, but if fundraising goes poorly we might have to do something smaller
