Dantooine
Mission #4 — The Ransom [Ask]

The transition of power is rarely smooth. The new Governor of Dantooine has his opponents. One faction has kidnapped his daughter in hopes of convincing the Governor to step down or at least bow to their wishes. Rescue the governor's daughter.

Participants (2): @Hera "The Joyful" Albion + @Sybella Demici

A child, stolen away in the middle of the night. Truly, a travesty. Sybella couldn't even imagine the anguish of the parents. It was clear that whoever had taken her was intent on using the governor's daughter as nothing more than a tool for terror. They wanted submission, not external alliances, and certainly not with any Jedi. Naturally, the Order wished to offer aid; despite the great risk, the governor agreed.

Working alongside Jedi Councilor @Hera "The Joyful" Albion, Sybella hoped to find those responsible. The question was, where should they start? Politics was a messy business and, ironically enough, it did not always attract the most noble of hearts. Neferacious, underhanded tactics were not entirely unheard of. This kind of abduction wasn't the first of its nature and (sadly) it wouldn't be the last either.

However, looking over the report, Sybella found several oddities. Whoever the perpetrator was, they had managed to infiltrate the governor's home, all whilst negating all security measures. That implied a degree of familiarity, at least with the layout. They knew exactly where the girl's bedroom was and knew the fastest way off of the property. Could this have been an inside job, perhaps?

A note had been left and it read, "Deny the light or forfeit your child. Forever."

Turning the piece of parchment over, Sybella noted a crudely drawn symbol. The all-seeing eye? It could be an additional message - they were still watching, even now.

There was a last minute switch-up and Ezra Thorne was assigned to the mission. He barely had time to read the mission brief when he arrived on the planet. He felt uneasy being on Dantooine- it was his father that wreaked havoc on it and killed Councilor Grayza. He tried to push those thoughts aside. There was a far bigger concern to deal with - meeting a new Jedi. Ezra rarely liked meeting new people and for all he knew this Jedi could be a massive pain in the ass to work with.

He walked over to spot the other Knight, “Knight Demici?” He queried. Oh well, at least she was easy on the eyes for an older woman, “I’m Ezra Thorne,” He introduced himself briefly. Then he blankly stared at her.

“Oh yeah, I got swapped in for Councilor Albion,” He said with a vague shrug, “Don't worry, it's a step up,” Ezra said with a faint smirk.

Raising an eyebrow at the young knight's words, Sybella offered nought but a subtle smile. "Indeed? How fortuitous..."

Given the circumstances, any help was better than nothing. Sybella had met plenty of fellow knights and (so far) they had been rather pleasant encounters; there was little to make her think this meeting would be anything less than pleasant - minus, of course, the abduction of a child. Besides, judging from the looks of him, it seemed like @Ezra Thorne could hold his own.

With that in mind, the shrouded woman kept her introduction brief. "If you like, you can call me Sybella..."

Despite their difference in age, they were the same rank. Whilst others chose to honour the noble in regards to her official title, there was much doubt her companion knew of her proceeding reputation. Focusing back on the task at hand, Sybella would pass the ransom note to Ezra, should he care to have a look for himself.

"They managed to bypass all apparent security measures. Certainly not the work of amateurs." Musing her thoughts aloud, she welcomed any input. "I spoke with the investigators. They said the symbol was linked to a radical group known as the 'All-Seeing Sons'."

What a ludicrous, self-styling name. Just saying it made Sybella frown. At least the obnoxious group was identifiable enough to be found; sightings of them came regularly in the city's more industrial area. They should start their search there before word got around that the governor had indeed made contact with the Jedi. If angered, the radicals may lash out. The last thing Sybella wanted was for the girl to suffer any more than she already had done, being caught up in all this politics and bother.

"Ready to move, Ezra? I think it's about time we beat some bad guys..."

First name basis? So she wasn’t one of those stuffy Jedi types. She either didn’t recognize him or downplayed it. Both were very much appreciated by Ezra who had far more celeb status than he enjoyed. Curiosity flashed in his eyes when she mentioned that they hadn’t tripped any security. He was briefly reminded of Berchest, when he and his friends walked right into a staged crime scene, “Could there be a possibility of someone working on the inside? Part of the family or a friend that was in on this?” They had to explore all avenues - a lot of times it wasn’t as cut and dry as the brazen claims made by a group.

Ezra started to walk with her, venturing deeper into the city. He gave her a sideways glance, realizing he hadn’t actually seen her anywhere in the Jedi socials or public events before. She must have been one of those types that spent almost all of her time on missions.

“That could be a starting place,” He jutted his chin towards a local cantina. It was a hole in the wall with cheap drinks and food. Ezra was terrible at pretending to be poor, so he let Sybella lead in hopes that he could simply be a discreet plus one. Of course he didn't know she came from a noble family and was probably equally worthless in that regard...

Stepping in would reveal a packed cantina with people on the lower end of the economical class. However, this was also where it was possible to glean some information if they listened.

Walking beside Ezra, Sybella would nod in thoughtful contemplation, "It appears we are of one mind. I have similar suspicions. The All-Seeing Sons, though the perpetrators, may not be solely responsible."

Though it was still too early to jump to such radical assumptions, the Jedi could not deny the alarming evidence. The Governor of Dantooine might have more than one threat to face; ones that were (unfortunately) closer to home. Betrayal amongst a family was, in her opinion, a great taboo. Bonds of blood ought to be binding. How could someone betray their kin? Such thoughts were beyond simple understanding.

For now, the pair would focus on the immediate task at hand: tracking down the radicals. Ezra's suggestion was a sound one. Cantinas were like watering holes; all walks of life flocked to them. The seedier they were, the better in fact. Having spent many a mission in the Out Rim, Sybella had undoubtedly learnt a thing or two when it came to gathering intel. The upfront and abrupt method of asking questions was a great way to get blasted. If they wanted information, they'd have to start subtle.

Upon entering the establishment, the Jedi would adjust her shroud; with most of her face now obscured, she gestured to the bar with a simple twitch of the head. Tapsters could be a remarkable resource, with the right prompting, of course. Ordering two (rather unappealing) drinks, Sybella would be discreet in the method of payment. She offered the right credits, yes, perhaps more than was needed, but she laid them on top of the note bearing the eye. Without words, and without risk, a question was asked. 'Seen this before?"

With a fleeting look, the bartender (a Nautolan) would give a shake of his tentacled head. There was no hesitation, nothing to make Sybella think he knew otherwise. Looks like they'd have to get their hands dirty and actually mingle with the rabble. But, in letting the barman keep the change as a tip, Sybella had gleamed at least some leverage. Beckoning her to lean in close, the aquatic humanoid offered only this, "Talk to Gerga. I remember the drinks, but her? She's the one who handles...trouble."

Glancing behind her, Sybella noted a Gamorrean sow standing off in the corner. The cantina's hired muscle, perhaps? It made sense; any self-respecting establishment, however dank, needed a bruiser or two.

"Ezra, time to put those charms of yours to use, I think."
Under the veil, the Jedi was admittedly trying to hold back a titter, "I'm sure she'll more than appreciate the...'attention'."

Ezra stared at the Gamorrean woman that appeared as if she could benchpress him. He looked at Sybella and scowled, “She looks like she’d be more interested in you,” He said dryly. However, he wouldn’t argue with his companion. He probably was the more charming person anyway. Ezra exhaled as he got up and walked over to the hired muscle.

“Evening,” He said with a smile, his gaze roaming over her form, “Another practitioner of the Thorne routine?”

The woman glared at him. However, her gaze changed a bit to where she stared at him. Her eyes widened, “You…you look just like a younger version of my husband!”

Ezra blinked, alarmed as he muttered under his breath, “I highly doubt that-”

“Just like him!” The woman practically screeched. Within seconds she burst into tears, “HE LEFT ME! FATE IS SO CRUEL! WHY! MY LOVE! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!”

Ezra was used to his father having obsessive fans, but this was on a whole new level. Soon enough, all of the patrons were looking over at the commotion. Ezra slowly took steps back. The Gamorrean wailed like a banshee, collapsing to the ground in despair and agony.

“GET OUTTA MY BAR!” The cantina owner shouted at Ezra and Sybella, who had arrived with him, “You’re both here to stir up trouble!” The Nautolan looked furious.

Ezra quickly scurried out of the cantina, hopefully with Sybella in tow. It wasn’t till he walked a few blocks away that he stopped to look at her. He still looked scandalized, unsure whether to laugh or lament, “Okay well..” He said as he ran his hand through his hair, “Do you have a Plan B?”

Roll for 'charming' gamorrean lady: 1/20...

"Well, that was certainly...'something'." Much like Ezra, Sybella was at a crossroads. Dare she give into temptation and utter a giggle, or was it best for her to remain stoic? Poor lad had tried; she couldn't fault him for that. Still, what were the odds?

Exhaling with a minor chortle, Sybella dropped the veil of the shroud. It appears they had encountered their first dead end. It was to be expected, unwelcome as it was. They could not afford the luxury of time, however. A new plan was needed: a new lead. If they All-Seeing Sons weren't frequenting the cantinas, then they might very well be congragating some place else.

Where to look next? That was the question.

The Force, it seemed, was ever on their side. Stopping mid-step, Sybella noticed something similar. The eye. Crudely carved, yes, but it was most definitely the same symbol left at the scene of crime. Was it a marker of some kind, denoting the radicals self proclaimed territory? Only one way to find out.

"Take heart, my intrepid friend." Nodding in the direction of their new discovery, Sybella patted at Ezra's shoulder, "The game is afoot."

Walking towards the icon, the Jedi would glance about, her eyes ever searching for the next proverbial breadcrumb. And she found it. Down an alley, off to the right. Yet another eye. Then another. With each passing moment, the Jedi would finds themselves venturing further afield; foot traffic became nonexistent and all that remained in their immediate sight was a collection of subterrain silos. From the looks of delacitated state, they had been abandoned long ago; left to fall into nothing but rot and ruin.

But the littering of graffiti eyes suggested otherwise. Within the darkness, and it confines, was the lair of the All-Seeing Sons. They could charge straight in, proverbial guns blazing but Sybella thought they should opt for something different. Something @Ezra Thorne had said had stuck with the shrouded knight; the snake could have two heads, meaning there was a double threat to consider. Could they afford to waste time chasing down one lead?

With that in mind, the lady Jedi made a decision. She instructed Ezra to follow up leads from within the family; he could investigate any traitorous kin whilst Sybella dealt with the fanatical accomplices. Still, it was dangerous, walking into the stronghold without any recourse or reconnaissance.

Luckily, Sybella knew someone that was willing to help. @Rahman Bahadir, acting as a retainer for the mission, was currently stationed on one of the planet’s patrol ships - one quick comm and the Orcolan would come running, especially since Sybella promised him the possibility of a fight.

Making do on his promise to lend Sybella support should she ever need it, the lumbering Orcolan didn't have to be asked twice to descend. Armed with his trusty lightsaber, there wasn't likely anything they had that could withstand a pair of trained knights. Of course, if Sybella wanted a more subtle approach, his fists made quite the formidable backup weapons even with one of the hands still dealing with a phantom pain.

Appearing at the coordinates she sent him, he quickly located his fellow Jedi and awaited her to fill him in on the lengthy and elaborate plan she must have devised for such a complex operation. "This the place?" he pointed vaguely, not to draw attention. Knowing Sybella, they wouldn't be standing around talking for much longer.

Whilst waiting for the Orcolan, Sybella was sure to keep an eye on the structure. She hadn’t seen much in the way of movement but, judging from the sounds within, the place was most definitely being occupied. Upon spotting @Rahman Bahadir, she waved him over and directed his gaze to entrance of the silo site.

“That symbol over there,” she pointed at the eye, painted over the door, “it was found at the scene of the abduction. We need to search the place and find the girl.” There didn’t seem to be any kind of security in place; no cameras or scouter droids. Apparently the fanatics were terribly funded. Perhaps for the best. If they were willing to risk the life of child, who knew what else they’d be capable of.

Motioning for the Orcolan to follow, the heiress crept over to the opening. The corridor connected to it seemed to be empty, but the enveloping darkness made it hard to confirm. Slowly, with cautious steps, Sybella advanced. When the sounds of voices became more apparent, she signalled for Rahman to halt just stop of the building’s main cavity. There was no telling what they could be walking to; though the governor had (thus far) kept the Jedi involvement a secret, the fanatics could very well be prepared for anything.

With a pat of the shoulder, the Jedi left her large companion behind her and continued forward. As she moved, however, he would find his colourfully robed friend slowly turning invisible! Using the Force to conceal her from sight, Sybella moved into the open space. She made sure to move with great caution; though she could bend rays of light around her, she hadn’t quite mastered the art of silencing he sound. Each step was agonising, especially as she found herself in the presence of six life forms.

Judging from their rather ratty attire, they were the gang. The ‘All-seeing Sons’ bore the mark of the ‘all-seeing eye’; some even had it tattooed across their face. They approved rather jovial, caveorting about as if they had just committed the crime of the century. One of them, the leader perhaps, and perched himself in front of a glitching holonet. From where Sybella was standing, she could see he had multiple cyber-robotic enhancements; hardly anything remotely human remained. It seemed he was watching the newsfeed, keeping tabs on the abduction and the police involved in the search for the governor’s missing daughter.

Off to the side, one of his goons sat with a blaster slung across his lap. It appeared he was guarding the door behind him. Chains had be cuddly slung about the locking mechanism, essentialist bolting the latch in place. If Sybella had to guess, the girl was there, trapped inside.

Six mediocre gang members shouldn’t be much of a challenge; still, airing on the side of caution, the knight returned to her Jedi friend, appearing in front of him and placing a hand over his mouth to ensure his silence. She hadn’t meant to startle him like that but time was of the essence.

Retracting her hand, Sybella held up her hands and indicated the number of enemies using her fingers. She also made the gesture of a gun, conveying the idea that most of them were armed with blasters. They needed to act quickly, strike whilst the gang was still unaware. Slamming her fist into her opposing hand, her choice of tactic was clear.

Blitz them. Total shock and awe.

Taking a peek at the symbol, he paused to sear it into memory. As expected, Sybella wasn't planning to sit around all day waiting for his lumbering butt to keep up, and instead went straight into action. This was great if they had caught the gang by surprise, but terrible if they couldn't improvise fast enough.

All he could do was wait by the door and watch as she disappeared, a cool little trick that he hadn't been taught, instead opting for the 'knock 'em on the head till they forget' approach of his youth. Startled by Sybella's sudden return and direct method of contact, Rahman only barely held back a scream as she started to explain what was ahead.

Nodding and mouthing his best impression of I got you covered, the Orcolan stepped forward toward the door as he planned to take the lead in this assault. Like a raging bull, Rahman was primed to race in and pummel them which would then allow Sybella an easy avenue to rescue the girl, all he needed was a little luck.

Ripping the door off its hinges, Rahman sprinted into the room with shock and awe a plenty. Unfortunately, none of the gangsters were close to the door, and his momentum continued forward without pause. Further in, he spotted the cybernetic monstrosity and redirected his charge toward taking him down. With a loud thud, the poor Orcolan simply bounced off the enhanced individual, flailing against the wall nearby with a painful whack.

Even with his failure, he hoped Sybella could still make sure of it.

Rahman's entry certainly surprised the gang. It surprised Sybella as well; taking advantage of the mayhem, the Jedi Knight moved under the cover of her Force cloak. With all eyes on the Orcolan, she hoped to secret herself through the door sighted earlier; the moment seemed perfect, with the ruffian on guard moving away in order to see what exactly was going on. The gang's leader, however, had managed to bounce Rahman back, by simply standing there in one place. It was clear now the true extent of his cybernetic enhancements; very little of him was made of flesh, with most of his structure instead being made up of metal and mechanics. The same went for the rest of his gang.

Artificial eyes scanned the Orcolan before multipurpose lenses focused and shifted to other areas; the gang leader was searching for heat signatures and he found an extra one (Sybella) just as she was making her way to the sealed-off room. The entirety of his hand folded back, revealing a canon-like weapon situated in his forearm; in fast succession, three stun grenades were launched high up, landing inches from Sybella and her position. She tried her best to evade them, jumping back. The crook, however, seemed to predict her movements and had launched one final grenade into the area in which she would land next.

Realising this too late, the Jedi attempted to shield herself through the Force. The concussive blast that followed shunted her into the nearby wall, causing her head to smack against it with an audible sound. Sybella saw spots appear within her line of sight. Three of the gang were now approaching her, all whilst the leader and his two supporting cronies moved in on @Rahman Bahadir.

The situation did not appear to be developing in their favour, with both knights taking heavy blows before it had even started. The shockingly powerful cybernetics had taken them off guard and proved to be more than a match for Rahman's brute force. What they did not account for, was that their opponents were in fact Jedi and could use the force to circumvent their physical disadvantages.

Blinking with a surge of pain racing through his torso, the Orcolan pushed himself up with a heavy grunt as the gang leader and two compatriots moved in for the kill. Fighting one on one would have been a much easier endeavour, but outnumbered made it all the harder. The first to attack swung a heavy rifle attachment as a club, directed at the knight's head. The second, followed suit but aiming for the torso instead while the leader stood back menacingly, switching to a vibroblade attachment.

Unfortunately for the first man, Rahman was quicker. The Jedi summoned his lightsaber, igniting it and slashing through the unprepared man. This however came at the cost of taking the second blow to the torso, sending the Orcolan back into the wall.

The battle had now begun, and they couldn't afford to lose it.

Staggering, Sybella tried her best to shake off the residual pain still clouding her senses. Three goons were closing in on her position. Summoning the Force, the knight expelled a wave of energy. It, however, wasn't that strong. If anything, it only pushed the three crooks back a few paces. She needed space, time to breathe. Hearing the faint ignition of a lightsaber, Sybella conceded now (more than ever) was time for melee confrontation.

Unsheathing her vibrant blue lightsaber, the Serennian made ready. The first of the trio charged at her with his enhanced cybernetic arm wound back; no doubt he was aiming to deliver a devastating blow. Despite her sluggishness, Sybella's instincts kicked in. With a deft movement, she sidestepped the attack, evading the decisive strike. In a swift counter, she directed her lightsaber towards her primary attacker, aiming for his mechanical limb. With a well-placed slash, the blade sliced through the arm, rendering it little more than a useless, smouldering piece of junk. The look on the gangster's face was quite priceless, especially since Sybella booted the metal appendage straight into the offender's gut; it might not have been enough to injure him, but it certainly left him winded. Doubled over, the ruffian made for the perfect stepping point; with her returning nimbleness, Sybella jumped and used the back of her fallen foe to give her that extra lift. Whilst he was stomped further into the ground, she gained some distance by vaulting over the remaining two attackers.

Enraged by the Jedi's antics, the second criminal unleashed a barrage of blaster fire from her cybernetic-enhanced arm. Sybella relied on her agility, gracefully dodging each incoming shot. She deflected some bolts with her lightsaber, the brilliant blue blade expertly redirecting the attacks back towards their source. The other crook, a hulking Zabrak, decided to try his luck and charge forward whilst the knight's back was turned. With his brute strength, he hoped to ram the Jedi into a nearby pile of crates.

Sensing his aggressive approach, Sybella utilized a different tactic. Summoning the Force once more, she began to manipulate her surroundings. With a wave of her hand, debris from the warehouse flew towards the Zabrak, distracting him momentarily. It wasn't enough to hurt him, but being pummeled with scrap certainly meant he had to keep his distance.

With a heavy smack, Rahman felt the blow send shockwaves through his body. A painful revelation and hard-earned lesson would not halt his own attacks, but merely cause delays. His blue eyes stared up toward his aggressor, vile and venomously vaunting in his direction. Had Rahman not known any better, they might assume the gangsters held supreme confidence in their ability, with their ill-gotten equipment proving quite the match.

Such glaring weakness might have worked against the average person on the street, but certainly not against two trained Jedi knights. A little groan escaped his lips as the bulked Orocolan threw himself back onto his feet and against his opponent once more. The clash was quick and full of bright colors and sparks, but in the end, another had fallen at his feet.

The boss now glared at the man who had cut down his minions with absolute despise. Pulling his blade up defensively, the knight attempted to prepare himself for the battle ahead.

Sybella found herself in a precarious situation as she faced off against the two remaining gangsters. Her focused gaze scanned the dimly lit room all whilst her lightsabers hummed softly at at the ready. Composing herself once again, she prepared to engage the pair of them once more.

The first of the frantics, a cunning and relentless woman, wielded a blaster with deadly precision. When she took aim, the Jedi Knight quickly stepped aside and narrowly avoided the incoming blaster bolts. With reflexes and speed enhanced by the Force, her movements were a little more than a blur as she deflected the energy projectiles back towards her assailant, forcing the gangster to take cover.

All for the best as the second attacker stepped forward once again; a robust Zabrak male. He had an imposing stature and his sheer strength made him quite a formidable. With a menacing grin, the horn headed hooligan charged at Sybella once again, his muscular arms ready to deliver devastating blows. From the looks of it, the brute wanted to literally crush her to death.

Anticipating this, the Jedi remained determine to stay out of reach; with some swift footwork, Sybella gradually outmanoeuvred him, making the Zabrak grow ever hot with frustration. Just when he thought he had her cornered, she would leap right over him - leaving his unfortunate friend to take the blow. They had been knocked completely unconscious, their blaster now skidding discarded on the floor.

Though not Sybella’s usually choice if weapon, she was willing to adapt. Grasping it, with the setting out to stun, she fired on the Zabrak and gave him a few good zaps just for extra measure. He was, after all, a hulking big boy. Like a tree, he fell with a mighty thud, leaving now just Rahman and his contending adversaries.

The battle had boiled down to the two Jedi versus the big bad boss of the gang. Taking him down was a requisite for completing the mission, but if the fight thus far was any indication, he wasn't simply going to be an easy mark. Rahman dashed to the left to avoid an incoming blow that came thundering down near his shoulder. With a flick of his wrist, the knight pulled his saber up and across, only to find it meeting the vibro sword attachment midway.

The pair continued to trade blows for some time, with a steady, slow retreat being beat into the Orcolan. Inch by inch and step by step, the simple mass against mass proved who the greater foe was. This brute display proved difficult to hold, causing Rahman to have to consider changing up his tactic if they hoped to win. As he lifted his saber to block as he had done before, the boss shifted its weight and brought it down upon its victim with a heavy thud.

The sudden pain jolted through the Orcolan's arm as the blade etched through sinew and fiber. His arm was visibly mauled, still barely attached, but a horrendous wound no doubt. Rahman could only hope that Sybella would be able to dispatch him before the next strike came....

“Rahman!”

Rushing to the aid of her fellow Jedi, Sybella sent forth a powerful wave of energy. It was enough to send the bionic boss back a good few paces but stubbornly, he remained standing. Still, it created a fair amount of distance between him and the wounded Orcolan. Jumping in between the two, the shrouded knight readied for the final confrontation. The criminal cyborg before her was a towering figure, boasting numerous cybernetic enhancements that were the main source of his fearsome advantage. His metallic limbs glisten in the flickering lights, and a menacing glow emanated from his electronic eyes. He was taking her measure, just as she was doing the same.

With a swift leap, Sybella launched herself towards her adversary, employing her usual acrobatic to close the distance. Annoyingly, the crook's cybernetic reflexes allowed him to dodge her initial strikes; he narrowly avoided the deadly humming blades, within a hair’s breath. Undeterred, Sybella switched between her array of aggressive and defensive manoeuvres; a flurry of rapid strikes and precise parries soon followed. The blue and green blades danced through the air, their trails forming mesmerizing arcs of light.

However, the criminal’s metallic limbs granted him immense strength; time and again, he thwarted the worst of Sybella’s slashes, and in returned, retaliated with powerful blows of his own. He hoped to disable her through sheer brute strength. The knight’s reflexes were pushed to their limits as she narrowly evaded the crushing force of her opponent's punches and strikes. Naturally, Sybella had to lean hard on the Force, drawing on its power to enhance her speed and agility. No normal human could keep up with the animatron’s artificial pace. She twisted and spun, utilizing her lightsabers to create an impenetrable wall of defense. The vibrant blades deflect the criminal's attacks, their humming energy crackling through the air. It appeared at least parts of the criminal’s metallic body were made from a lightsaber-resistant material. An expensive commodity. How could such a low level gangsters obtain such luxury. Questions for later, for now, Sybella pushed forward.

Anticipating her adversary's next movements, the Jedi began the next phase in her assault. She would aim to disable his cybernetic enhancements via targeting the vulnerable joints and exposed components. The gang’s criminal boss seemed to recognise this and became more desperate; blades emerged once again from his cybernetic limbs, and projectiles shot out from hidden compartments. Sybella deftly dodged and deflected most of them, even going so far as to create a wall of Force energy, just to ensure her comrade Rahman also remained untouched.

Stray remnants explosive components caused several crates to catch alight. Using this to her advantage, Sybella called forth on the flames; they warped and whirled, forming steady streams of coiled like snakes around the gangster. The Jedi, not wanted to cook the criminal alive, focused on his extremities more than anything else. Though his outer surfaces might have some resistance to heat, the wiring and mechanisms instead certainly didn’t; with each passing moment, the temperature increased, growing more intense by the second. He tried to extinguish the flames, failing about in pointless futility until his movements became completely laboured and stiff. With a grasp of her fist, the blaze extinguished itself, revealing a partly melted mess and an overheating cyborg man.

Sybella didn’t give him a further passing glance. Her focus, instead, fell on Rahman and his injuries. Rushing to his side, she quickly assessed the extent of his injuries. “Collecting battle scars again, my Orcolan friend? Whatever shall I do with you?”

Naturally, she was going to help him. She couldn’t very well leave him in such a state. So, closing her eyes, Sybella began to tap into the vast energy of the Force. With each breath, she drew in the Force's healing essence, allowing it to flow through her and into her injured friend. She sensed the intricate balance within their body, the ebb and flow of life force, and directed her intentions toward restoring the broken flesh. Concentrating, a gentle aura of bluish light enveloped her hands. The radiant energy, an extension of the Force, flowed like a river and sought out the most severe wounds within Rahman’s body. With delicate precision, she directed the healing energy, mending broken bones, sealing lacerations, and soothing damaged tissue.

Whilst not quite the level of a master, Sybella’s expertise in healing had slowly developed (thanks to the teachings of her fellow Jedi). The wound wouldn’t be completely restored, but the most severe damage was treated at least.

“How does that feel? Unfortunately, it’s all I could manage…” The fights they had endured had been rather draining. They also had the girl to save.

The mighty battle had been short and decisive, with Sybella proving herself to be both the hero and healer that Rahman and those they had come to rescue, needed. Betwixt the agonising pain and the delightful sight of seeing his comrade in arms victorious, the vicious fight had sapped his energy, and thus he could only utter in short supply.

"I'm...sorry." He pushed out painfully. In truth, the fight had gone sideways almost from the start and while it wasn't entirely his fault with luck not going the Orc's way, he still felt the sting of defeat. Although perhaps that was more the latest battle wound he had scored. "Go, save her. I'll be fine." his voice was strained, but she would definitely sense an improvement after her healing. Once she had secured the girl, they'd be able to leave and find the bumbling knight an extra tall bacta tank for good measure.

It was her time to shine.

“Oh, hush,” Sybella wouldn’t hear of it, not from Rahman. “There is nothing for you to apologise for…”

Sensing the Orcolan was more or less out of the proverbial woods, the shrouded knight would give him a reassuring pat. It was a hard encounter and their foes had been more of a handful than originally anticipated. The Force was with them, however, and as Sybella cut through the doors shackled door, she felt relieved to find a very frightened.

“It’s okay…we’re here to help.” Holding out her hand, the knight offered the fearful girl some comfort. “Your father sent us…”

It seemed to be enough to settle her nerves. Picking the child up, and holding her up in the crook of her arm, Sybella stepped out to meet back up with Rahman. She made sure, however, to shield the child from the sight that was the aftermath of the fight.

“Time to leave, I think…” Making sure the Orcolan was fit to walk (all be it, at a slower pace) the three of them exited the gang’s improvised lair. Sybella made note of the location. Authorities would be need to be notified, and the criminals detained.

Still carrying the child, the Knight then used her coms to contact @Ezra Thorne. “Ezra? We have the girl and our making our way back now. Did you find much during your own investigations?”
