The Jedi Order
Monastery on Tython

Tython was a shining gem located in a historically dangerous part of the galaxy: the Deep Core. Few traveled to the Tython system and its eleven planets; at the center of the Deep Core was a massive black hole surrounded by antimatter and massive clusters of stars only a fraction of a light year apart. The close proximity sometimes caused stars to collide, ripping their cores from each other. Hyperspace and light speed were difficult, if not often outright impossible.

It was for this very reason that the Jedi Councils of old chose to set up a monastery on the planet; by some accounts, Tython was the birth place of the Jedi Order. Its location in the Deep Core afforded the monastery a great deal of protection from potential enemies who may not have been inclined to venture into the hostile region of space to seek out the Jedi there. The possibility for collateral damage gave most enemies pause for concern.

The monastery itself was tucked in a pristine area of the planet, settled between the outskirts of one of its largest villages and the lush green forests that Tython was known for. Because the Jedi had been settled on the planet for thousands of years and the dark side never reached it, the influence of the light gave the planet a peaceful and serene aurora, something any Jedi on the planet would take note of and be influenced by.
