The A-Z-Z-3 is 24 meters in length, capable of carrying up to 60 tons of cargo, 2 months of consumables and 8 passengers. The ship is crewed by up to 4 personnel, including a pilot, copilot and 2 gunners, each operating one of the remote-controlled dorsal laser turrets, which are arranged in a superfiring configuration which allows both turrets to fire on the same target directly ahead. Like most Mon Calamari designs, the A-Z-Z-3 has decent performance, a 50 MGLT top sublight speed coupled with a class 1 hyperdrive. The ship also has a typically Mon Calamari shield projector, which is robust and quick to recharge after being depleted.

Notably, the A-Z-Z-3's 4 individual cargo bays can be easily configured to carry a variety of materials. Though normally used for conventional freight, they can be sealed to carry liquids or pressurized gas as well. The ship is also rated to perform water landings.

Overall, the A-Z-Z-3 is an excellent vessel, seen primarily in the Outer Rim. It is used by any number of independent operators, as well as by several fleet operations.
