“Ladies and gentlemen, this is Ami Kavin reporting from Galactic News Network HQ on Corellia,” A blue Twi’lek in a business suit spoke from behind a desk, “After much excitement and anticipation, we are thrilled to report that MorataCorp has been selected as the pharmaceutical company to spearhead the AMS vaccination and prevention efforts.”

The camera panned to the new facility in Thyferra they would be working out of, along with images and videos of the MorataCorp logo and existing labs, “As we all know, this was a very competitive selection process where millions of companies vied for the coveted spot to lead the research for the rest of the galaxy. MorataCorp, a small but innovative company led by Doctor Ilana Morata, has come out on top and is personally backed by funding from the ISC.”

The videos then cut to an older interview with Emryc Thorne, who was presently out of the spotlight. It displayed a very clean shaven Emryc who still very much had his sight.

“President Thorne, it is curious that with the funding you and the ISC received from the Galactic Senate, you have chosen MorataCorp. Are you not on the board of Blackwell Technologies?”

“I am, yes,” Emryc stated, nodding in agreement, “But I recognize talent based on where it is suited best. Blackwell has made a tremendous effort in the defensive posture for combating AMS. There are droids that specialize in the protection of civilians and the cleanup and removal of the infected. MorataCorp specializes very much in the research and medical branch. I have full confidence that Doctor Morata and her team will not only succeed in this endeavor, but will partner with other firms to leverage their focus areas to help combat this problem. The AMS issue is a crisis afflicting the whole galaxy. We will only succeed if we can set aside competition and differences.”

“Well said, President Thorne and what a strong endorsement for both Blackwell and MorataCorp!”

The camera then went to another reporter male.

“This is Ky Dovin reporting from here in Thyferra in front of the AMS research facility where MorataCorp is operating,” He gestured to the woman beside him, “I have with me Doctor Ilana Morata herself. Doctor, can you tell us a little bit about how you feel about MorataCorp suddenly coming into the spotlight of the entire galaxy? What progress have you been able to make so far? What can you tell us, if anything, about a potential vaccine?”

The Arkanian woman stood tall, directly addressing the cam before her with a calm, amber-eyed stare, her voice a light rasp. "I am very proud of MorataCorp and the research we commit ourselves to, both as a medical aid provider and a research company. We have, in fact, been researching this virus for some time now; in working with others, I have full confidence we will develop a functioning vaccine to aid those trapped in infected cities and bring an end to this horrific disease." She paused, bowing her head once. "As we speak, MorataCorp is researching a plausible genetic code that could prevent those bitten to contract the virus."

"As for our progress..."
She flicked her eyes to the male reporter for a moment, assessing his expression. "We have been able to trace and track the mutations and possible alternate strains this disease has. We thank those who have given their lives protecting the citizens of their governments, and the faith they put in us. We hope to pay it in kind very soon, especially since trials for the vaccine have already begun their initial testing phase."

The man looked at the camera, "There you have it, Ami! At long last, we are finally seeing some progress towards a cure. Doctor Morata, the galaxy eagerly awaits the result of your work and what you will release next! Back to you, Ami."

Preef Callo was looking down on the protected streets of Nar Shaddaa from the large floor-to-ceiling windows in his penthouse when he heard the broadcast start. It took him a moment, but then realization struck him. Wasn't MorataCorp the company that sold his spice in the Galactic Core? Had they not made a deal that they would continue to do so until they discovered a new drug? The rodian smiled and turned away from the skyline to watch the screen and he sure did recognize the doctor herself.

"Shere!" the rodian shouted and shortly after a Cathar appeared. "Prepare the paperwork! We'll be owning half of this AMS vaccine patent," he smiled at the older Cathar who, once he, too, saw the broadcast and made the connection and returned the smile with a grin. "Excellent worrk, boss."

Truthfully, the rodian couldn't believe his luck. With the patent being shared fifty-fifty between him and MorataCorp he could avoid a lengthy war between the Five Syndicates. After all, who wouldn't want to be friends with the people who could manufacture and distribute the vaccine to save the highly infected Hutt Space? This would solidify his position at the very top of the Five Syndicate foodchain and make him very wealthy, too, and in a legal way at that.

Sevrin was on a ship but he still received long range Holonews that transmitted across the galaxy. Any updates about AMS would be broadcasted everywhere far and wide. The Sephi always had news playing in the background while he traveled and he was currently preparing for landing.

He didn’t look over until he heard a familiar name before the screen cut to an interview with President Thorne. Sevrin stared for a moment, wondering why several people had told him he looked similar to the other man. The Sephi didn’t see it at all and felt far superior in the looks department than a mere half Sephi or whatever he was. Sevrin focused back on his work until the interview cut to Il- no, Amariel.

Sevrin watched her for a moment as he grabbed his saber and clipped it to his belt, tightening the braces on his arms. He wondered if she were prepared for this, to have the eyes of the entire galaxy on her. She certainly looked more lively than she had when he had first met her. Sevrin thought about the infected grandma head he had given her that likely helped some of this research.

A faint smile graced his lips as he flexed his fingers from the bracers before he watched the rest of the Holo. It was a subtle gesture he only allowed himself in private. He kept looking that way even after it was done, a faraway look on his face before he finally turned and moved to the cockpit as the alarms began to sound for exiting hyperspace.

Sevrin took manual control as he spoke into his comms, “About to enter the atmosphere, Counci- er.. Hans. What’s your position?”

Within moments his ship was hovering over the dead and volcanic surface of the Sith planet Sullust.
