Kaisa had never realized just how much help the galaxy at large needed. It was easy to focus on the micro before she'd been promoted. Only worried about the issues in the places she happened to be, not having to consider every issue occurring the galaxy at once and how to prioritize them. Honestly, once she had gained access to the shared "Somebody Please Help Us" inbox, it sort of made her brain hurt trying to figure out a way to help.

So she'd sort of come up with a process. Keywords that would give certain things priority over others. Murder got pushed higher up on the list than lost pet, for instance. Kidnapping pushed hire than burglary. It was because of this system that Kaisa's eyes were drawn to a very recent aide request from the planet Lantilles.

There had been an a recent string of murders that were all carried out by droids. But not just any droids.. droids that were far beyond just metal men made of shiny durasteel. These droids had synthskin and to the naked eye looked entirely and utterly human. Even more strangely, it wasn't just random rogue AI committing these crimes. In most cases, it was people that the victims had known for years. Spouses friends and neighbors suddenly exposed as murderous synthetic beings.

The whole thing was just too strange to ignore. Deciding not to undergo this investigation alone, Kaisa had invited two padawans to join her: Gnost Rumaar and Maura Skywalk.

We need to remain inconspicuous during our investigation, Kaisa said to the two padawans as their ship landed. If we are too overt, whoever is perpetrating these crimes may bury the lead where we will never find it.

Kaisa would give Gnost and Maura little time to get themselves ready to depart before she slid from the pilot's seat and started walking to the loading ramp and headed outside. Their destination was a local police office, the place that had put in the distress call in the first place.

It is likely we will uncover some rather.. nefarious things during this investigation. Things some would say kids should be shielded from, but I think it is important to understand the realities of the galaxy we live in. I know you have seen combat, Maura, but Gnost is by far less experienced. Kaisa said as they walked before pausing for a moment.

Turning her gaze to them both, but hovering on Gnost a little bit longer than Maura, Kaisa sighed heavily.

If you don't think you can handle it, this will be your last time to let me know.

Maura was super excited to be on this mission with Kaisa and Gnost. Not only was she getting to tag along under the instruction of the new council member, but she was also getting to go along with a padawan she'd never met before. He was her age too! The girl was in desperate want of a friend, and though she and Layla were definitely solid buddies, the Togruta had the audacity to leave the Order and go hang out with an ex-Jedi. Though the two still chatted over holocomms, Maura was pretty sure Clovedidn't like her, so her hopes for a potential future sleepover felt slim.

Anyways, case in point, she hoped the other padawan would be cool. Unfortunately - or fortunately for Kaisa - Maura had slept for most of the trip.

"Inconspicuous?" Maura repeated as she crossed her eyes looking up at the uneven bangs swooping across her forehead. She immediately threw her hands up into her hair and a hat and an elastic later, the colorful was tamed into a ponytail and contained under her favorite blue baseball hat. "Gotcha!"

She happily followed Kaisa down the ship's ramp, her hands tucked under her cloak and resting on either side of her utility belt. The woman began talking again, warning about the nature of the mission, but Maura's didn't seem phased by it. Instead, her chest puffed out a bit when Kaisa mentioned that the girl had seen combat.

"We can handle it!" she assured the woman, grouping Gnost in with her. There was no way she was gonna let him chicken out either.

Patience started to run thin concerning the now 18 year old Padawan. Due to her pacifism, she was never assigned to missions that could potentially involve violence, however, her constant Knight trial failures have brought her here. Most of the other padawans she use to train with are full blown knights, and yet Issyl has to continue with the kiddie group. She's watched the rainbow-haired girl, Maura, grow from just a small child to a teen.

Issyl followed Maura and the Councillor. She was glad to see Maura's childish joyful charm when throwing her hat up. It helped ease her mind while Kaisa discussed the nature of the mission. Issyl couldn't help but feel guilty due to her complete lack of combat experience. She opened her mouth to respond to the Councillor before it was too late "Master Vanloa, I don't think I can-" but she was quickly cut off by Maura. Issyl looked down at her a bit surprised: 'Was that on purpose?" she thought. It was too late to say anything now, and thus she decided to go along. "What she said!"
