Moridin was the alias used by a Force Sensitive male who was once a Legionnaire in the service of the Eternal. Assumed lost while on a mission to the Unknown Regions, he returned years later with his mind shattered, his face forever hidden behind a mask, and a new name to call his own. Claiming to have discovered a truth that had helped him survive his ordeals, he declared himself to be a disciple of Ren, acting as an agent of the shadow, no longer bound by the limitations that had almost lead to his death.

Biography

Born Pedron Niall, Moridin was a young acolyte of middling ability who grew up in a family of similar standing within the followers of the Eternal. He served without much distinction, and almost his entire life before his disappearance was about as unremarkable as was possible. But while on a mission to the Unknown Regions to track down a possible ally, he vanished for a little over three years.

His ship crashed on an uncharted, unnamed planet, only identified on the navigational charts by a simple alphanumerical code. He did find the ally he was sent to find, finding instead a crazed fanatic, his mind ruined by centuries of uncontrolled usage of the shadow. Stranded on the planet with the crazy old man as his only company, Pedron would spend each day trying to fix his ship, before returning to the old man'd hut at night to rest. Over time a friendship was born between the two, so much so that Pedron started getting careless. The old man attacked him one night, and though he survived, the fight changed him, killing whatever softness was left within him and giving him the push he needed to rise above his limitations. After killing the old man, and having given up on his ship, he began exploring the old man's possessions. He discovered books that spoke about the Knights of Ren and their philosophy. He spent years in that hut, studying the texts, learning, growing, and reforging himself. One day he stumbled upon a secret stash in a nearby cave system that the old man must have hidden at some time. Within it was the mask he now wears, and a datapad with the location of the ship the old man had first used to reach the world. He finally had a means to leave, but he left as a changed man. He did not know if isolation had driven him crazy, or cured him of the madness that had plagued him all his life.

He returned to the Galaxy at large, and the followers of the Eternal, a changed man. Calling himself Moridin, he is driven by a corrupted understanding of the ways of the Sith and the Knights of Ren. The Dark Side had saved him once, now it was his duty to save the Galaxy by opening their eyes to the true nature of the Dark Side.


Personality and Traits

There is one rule, above all others. Whatever comes, face it on your feet.​

As Pedron he was a cautious, self-aware, and patient man. Moridin is a different entity. Pragmatic, with a dark sense of humor, an amoral view of the world, and a distinct lack of lines that he is not willing to cross. He is a firm believer of the tenet that the ends, as long as they are the right ends, do justify the means. But he is also a man blessed with restraint, and a surprising control over his emotions. He is neither sadistic nor a violent person, but a supremely driven one, happy to and great at performing acts that can be both extremely sadistic and exceedingly violent if they serve to further the Sith cause.


Powers and Abilities

Trained since he was a child to be a warrior, Pedron was very well versed with the more combative usage of the Force. As a duelist, he had tried his hand at various forms before settling on a style that bears the greatest resembles to Soresu. An energy efficient defense that focuses on economy of motion, he would bide his time by wasting as little energy as possible while maintaining a strong defense. But as Moridin he has changed his fighting style completely. Using a more aggressive and expansive style inspired by Juyo, he relies on quick, unpredictable movements and powerful parries and jabs. He also uses the Force in unique and creative ways, like pulling on an opponents clothes or smacking mud on them to distract them during a fight.
