Born to a merchant mother and a soldier father, Morndell was the second youngest out of four children of the Avon family. At a very young age, he had shown a strong inclination to follow after his father's footsteps, something the Avon patriarch encouraged since the rest of Morndell's siblings chose their mother's trade.
Growing up, Morndell attended the same military school his father went to study at and would serve as a Marine offworld immediately after graduating, going where his company was needed and helping defend the rights of the innocents. Through his hardwork, strong moral compass, and ferocity in battle even in the face of adversity, Morndell rose steadily among the ranks until he was given the rank of commander. He would almost receive the rank of general had his commanding troops not fallen in the hands of a group of terrorists, wielding the mysterious Force and armed with red sabers of light.
The mission given to Morndell that time was simple, and combat was least expected during a humanitiarian effort on the far reaches of the galaxy. What was supposed to be a peaceful relief effort on Morak turned into a bloody massacre, Morndell's company viciously and mercilessly attacked by hooded individuals. The cause for the ambush was never identified even after a lengthy investigation. The commander, along with his two young aides Ramone and Edmund, were the only survivors in the incident – rescued, even at the last moment where he lay almost dying, by robed individuals who wielded green, blue, and yellow lightsabers.
Wandering Jedi Knights have come to save the three military men, one of them healing Morndell's injuries with the use of the Force.
What was to be the mission's success would have ensured Morndell's promotion, but given the circumstances and despite earning the title still for fighting tooth and nail to defend his troops, he refused to accept the promotion and would choose to return to Chalacta with his aide-de-camp and captain.
The bombing on the Ranger Headquarters on Corsucant had given Morndell the identity of his troops' murderers: the Sith, enemy to the Jedi Order. Having learned from childhood that the Jedi were protectors of the peace, Morndell endeavored to support their Order and would send letters to the Senator of his homeworld, imploring to give the peacemakers their planet's support.
His letters were left unheeded.
Completely dissatisfied and utterly disappointed and angered with the turn of events, Morndell decided to run for the office during the election. Despite not being knowledgeable about the realm of politics, he had earned the support of the people by giving open and heartfelt speeches about securing the peace for their planet – his words cemented and given power by his outstanding military career, the massacre he had survived on Morak only gaining the masses' sympathy. A staunch supporter of the Jedi Order, Morndell spoke openly and defiantly against the Sith and the chaos they have wrought across the galaxy.
With the results of the election coming in favor of the would-have-been general, Morndell Avon had become the newest Senator of Chalacta and his homeworld's representative to the New Republic.
Personality
Behind the gruff exterior however lies an understanding and caring man, more so for those who seek guidance and a helping hand. Morndell is a compassionate man, only guarding his soft heart because he knows firsthand the harshness of life.
Skills
Military Strategist – Morndell's experience as a Marine has given him an ample knowledge of combat and warfare strategies.
Voice of Vengeance – given his passionate and fiery nature, Morndell does not shy in delivering short but meaningful public speeches which he hopes to touch peoples and beings and possibly, hopefully, sway them into supporting his cause to fight for justice and peace.
The Fiery Senator – Morndell's military career has made him a capable fighter, both in swordplay and marksmanship. He chooses to fight defensively, however, knowing that in his age he can easily be overpowered by capable opponents.
Reluctant Diplomat – whenever in the presence of his close aides (Ramone and Edmund), Morndell adopts a more pacified behavior and will rather settle disputes through diplomacy instead of violence. He's got to set a standard for his

• He has designed his and his aides' uniforms so they can stand out from everyone else. Such a flashy Single Dad™.
• The PC is heavily inspired and influenced by one of the writer's favorite Philippine National Heroes, General Antonio Luna.
• The name of Morndell's ship is taken from General Luna's pen name, Taga-Ilog (lit. river dweller)
