Moving On, Unforunately

So, I’m leaving. I guess you could tell that by the title though.

Not that it matters. I’ve only been here for three weeks, and most of you avoid me like the I’m the plague. And that’s why I’m going. It’s become clear to me that I don’t really vibe with your group, or mesh with you guys, or what have you.

Between the struggle to get any sort of meaningful threads going, the lack of any form of engagement even on Discord server, and the engagement I do get generally being luke-warm at best (like being accused of fishing for compliments, when I’m just trying to figure out what it is about my writing that turns people off from RPing with me), I’ve found that I’m growing increasingly frustrated with this place, in a way I haven’t experienced with an RP forum before.

And this is supposed to be fun.

But I accept that this is my fault. I put the wrong foot forward, made bad jokes, and generally just didn’t contribute much to the conversations being had by my fellow members. If the things I say are largely ignored, then it’s because I made myself not fit in here, and that’s fine.

That isn’t to say there haven’t been any good parts of being here. Before I go, I do want to thank Gaba and Sreeya for trying to involve me more in their circle. Same goes to Lizzie, and of course Lilith.

And I want to apologize to the thread partners I do have. I know I’m leaving you hanging. And that one is on me.

I hope this place is fruitful for the rest of you.

Sorry to hear. People are definitely very sarcastic here, but it's never intentionally malicious or anything. Sometimes that doesn't come through very well in text. Hope you give us another chance in the future, but regardless, we'll be here and enjoyed having you! Wishing you all the best.

'Meaningful threads' is an iffy term in my book because I view every roleplay thread as meaningful. I think one problem people may have is that you have to be as impactful as the next person, whether ranking up your character or launching an invasion, but you really don't.

I'm not presuming upon your context, of course, just offering my own. Ultimately, you have to get enjoyment out of this game and if trying to yields no results then moving on is what might work. That said, the door is open for you to come back. We were in a few threads so far and personally I enjoyed them!

I can't speak to OOC engagements, I don't dabble too much in those, but I can speak to your writing not putting me off. I'm surely not alone. Coincidentally I sometimes wonder the same thing with my own writing though so maybe I can relate. You're not alone either! But writing is just the medium of the greater game and having fun is what really matters.

Well, whatever comes next, I hope you find green grass to settle down on. If not, hit me up on those hanging threads and we'll tie 'em up.
