Strength: Elikar's strength is above average but he is not ripped so not super strong

Dexterity: He is fairly quick on his feet.

Constitution: He is physically healthy and has a high pain tolerance. His emotional health can questionable at times primarily because he has a tendency bottle up negative feels and release them when frustrated or angry when he doesn’t have an appropriate outlet.

Intelligence: Although he never had a formal education, he is quite intelligent with good street smarts. He has always had an interest in Galactic history and maps.

Wisdom: One so young has little true wisdom but there is time enough to obtain some.

Charisma: While not necessarily charming he is well spoken and usually gets along well enough with patrons when he puts on his service “mask.” On the other hand, he has been reprimanded on many occasions for outburst at “difficult” guests.

Current Profession: A luxury cruise liner cabin steward, glorified servant as far as Elikar is concerned.

PERSONALITY
Elikar can maintain his for the guest façade but he doesn’t find it easy and his impatience and frustration often burns though when dealing with annoying, difficult, and especially entitled patrons. Other than those occasions he rarely shows emotions, rather he controls them as his father taught him. Elikar tends to be practical, logical, and is not one for small talk. He has always had a strong curiosity especially for Galactic history, galactic geography, and planetary cultures.

What is Destiny? The Galactic Dictionary defines it as “a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency.” How often do you hear it’s your destiny to this or that? Sure, I guess your destiny could be cleaning the refreshers of a Mos Eisley cantina or waiting on the fat, lazy, rich denizens of luxury lines with no thanks for your trouble; Bantha poodoo happens. Personally. I don’t believe in the whole destiny thing. It would leave no choice in your life. Where we end up in life is determined by our choice, experiences, bad luck, and lastly, who could forget, what we are born into.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 111 ABY in the midst of a period of peace the galaxy had not seen for over century, Elikar Bridhec was not born to a terribly exciting life. Although, even if he had been born in the middle of the Clone Wars, the chance of being born into an “exciting life” was slim. Elikar’s life was that of the average galactic citizen. His parents were crewers on a long-haul bulk freighter. Angrula Bridhec was a helmsman and her husband Velen was second in command of ship security.

Average. Maybe a little more than Average. Elikar’s mother was a good pilot and a decent mechanic in a pinch, his father an excellent combat instructor. Over the years Elikar learned that his father’s extraordinary skill came from his ability to predict his opponent’s movements and his speed which seemed almost inhuman in the heat of combat.

Elikar was born on the bulk freighter Jawa’s Pride with no knowledge of his ancestral homeworld, if there even was one; his parents never spoke of it. Life on the freighter wasn’t always dull and as he got older and more able Elikar took odd jobs making a small salary. During is spare time, far more prevalent in his younger years, Elikar learned from his parents. His mother taught him how to pilot ships, speeders, and perform basic repairs. Velen not only taught Elikar everything he knew about combat but also strange things that Elikar did not understand until years later.

Elikar’s father spent hours teach Elikar how to recognize, control, and use his individual emotions and passions. These teachings went beyond what most parents teach their children. Elikar was taught to use his emotions and passions in everyday life and especially during combat training. He learned his anger would make him stronger but at the expense of his focus and energy, a determent in the end. On the other hand, Velen taught Elikar that his passions and emotions, like love and joy, could be used to strengthen him as well and when properly controlled strengthened him beyond what his anger could. “Everything in moderation” was an oft repeated motto. Knowledge of the world around him was an important tenet as was respect for all beings.

Despite Velen’s teachings, Elikar was not immune to his mother’s cynicism and darker view of the world. Elikar could not fathom how his parents found happiness together; they were so a like yet so different. But they did find happiness. About the time Elikar turned 18, his parents retired to a small plot of land on Dantooine. Elikar continued working on the long-haul freight he had been born on. Life was quite dull, but it soon got a bit more exciting.

Free time was something Elikar had a lot less of so he did not have the time to devote to honing his martial skills. However, Elikar discovered something interesting about himself; he was force sensitive. He could manipulate objects and people with concentration and focus. Suddenly, many of the lessons his father taught him made sense. Elikar practiced every chance he could, applying the teachings of his father, but always in secret. Did his father know the truth? Why had he not told his son? Those are the questions Elikar asked himself. Questions he would get answers to next time he got the chance.

Soon after learning of his force sensitivity, Elikar moved on from the life of a long-haul freighter crew member to life serving on a luxury liner. Some called it a step up in life. Elikar did not…

SKILLS

Elikar is good pilot and can make various repairs in a pinch. He is more then proficient, in fact quite skilled, with various melee weapons including vibro swords and pole staffs, although he is an average shot with ranged weapons.

Martial skills are not the only ones Elikar possesses. He has a great memory for maps, events, and places, although names are another story.

EQUIPMENT
+ TM-357 Blaster Pistol
+ D-1001 Commlink
+ Portable Datapad (tech write up in progress)
+ Vibrosword, given to Elikar by his father. (a lightsaber will be hidden in the handle to be discovered by my character at a later date. A tech write up is in progress so it will just be a regular vibrosword until that is approved)

Guardians of the Whills write-up {WIP}

Guardians of the Whills

I Am One With the Force, the Force is With Me

History

THE BEGINNING

An ancient Order founded by Malen Imwe sooner after the Legion of Lettow split during the first Great Schism. The original members of the Guardians of the Whills left the Jedi with the Legion of Lettow but split from the Legion very soon after. Like the Legion of Lettow, the Guardians of the Whills believed in the larger view of the Force and opening oneself up to the full range of emotions to the point that splitting from the Jedi was the only choice. However, the Guardians did not believe in embracing the Dark Side.

After the split the Guardians of the Whills wandered the Galaxy for years before finally settling on the Moon of Jedha where they founded Jedha City and the Temple of the Whills, later to be known as the Temple of the Kyber. Over the years traders and other came to Jedah City and were welcomed with open arms by the Guardians, but always the Guardians kept their origins and abilities secret, content to be seen as merely a strange and mystic religion.

AND THE EONS PASSED

Over 1000 years after founding Jedha City the Guardians began to expand the Temple of the Whills to accommodate a growing congregation. During the expansion the Guardians discovered the first and largest kyber crystal. The continued discovery of kyber crystals brough the Jedi and others who along with the Guardians revered and worshiped the crystals which contained powerful Force signatures.

During the millennia that followed as Jedha City and the Temple of the Whills continued to grow the Guardians became more secretive. Still worshipping and guarding the Temple and City but now more mysterious than ever the Guardians of the Whills were all but forgotten. The Jedi took over the Temple and made it their own as was there want. To the Jedi the Guardians became just another religion that shared their Temple.

However, the Guardians of the Whills were much more than that. Always they protected Jedha City and the kyber crystals within. In keeping with their Jedi heritage, the Guardians also traveled abroad helping those at need. Often, they were mistaken for Jedi; unlike the Jedi the Guardians stayed out of galactic and even planetary or smaller local affairs. They preferred to help those of less notoriety but of no less misfortune.

Distance was no obstacle to the Guardians when it was time to make their pilgrimage to the Temple of Kyber. This pilgrimage was not made on an annual basis or at set times. It was made when a Guardian felt the need to return to regain a sense of balance and peace.

ARRIVAL OF THE GALACTIC EMPIRE

Order 66 and the Inquisitors wiped out the Jedi, including those on the Moon of Jedha. The Empire soon occupied the Moon and begun collecting Kyber crystal’s from the Temple. The Temple of the Kyber was sacred ground and the Guardians of the Whills could not stand by and watch the large precious crystals be removed. Over the years the Guardians had dwindled in number but those that were left on Jedha formed a resistance with other citizens to push the Empire out. The Guardians were ultimately unsuccessful and were nearly all wiped out along with the Temple of the Kyber when the first Death Star destroyed Jedha City. Those few Guardians who had not been killed in the destruction or during the insurgency went into hiding fearing the Empire and later the Knights of Ren and the First Order.

CIRCA 135 ABY

Most of the Guardians of the Whills are still scattered about the galaxy living a secret life, still biding their time. However, there are some who have begun to emerge forming small groups and actively, but slowly, working to reestablish the presence of the Guardians of the Whills in the galaxy.

Philosophy and Beliefs

The Guardians of the Whills believed in a balanced Force, both a light and dark existing together; there could not be one without the other. Unlike the ancient Jedi the Guardians did not believe the Sith or even Dark Siders should necessarily be destroyed. Although the destruction of the Jedi, as the Sith desired, was not in keeping with the Guardians beliefs either.

For the Guardians balance could not be obtained by suppressing or ignoring ones emotions completely, nor could it be obtained by giving into them completely, rather good emotions should be drawn upon freely and bad emotions like fear, anger, and hate should be recognized but controlled but not completely suppressed. However, if those emotions got to strong it was time for the Guardian to rebalance themselves by making the all-important pilgrimage to the Temple of the Kyber or a lesser shrine. There the Guardian could mediate amongst the crystals to regain their balance and prevent a fall to the darkside.

Peace is not alone, there is also Passion
Through Passion and Control I gain Balance
Through Balance Peace is Restored
Through Balance and Peace, I Am One With the Force

The Force is with Me.

A practitioner can only be truly one with the Force if there is balance, which automatically results in peace. That is why the Guardians of the Whills discourage the use of the dark side because it causes imbalance and destroys peace far quicker than a strict and monastic few of the light side. This could be seen in powershifts between the Jedi and Sith during wars over the millennia. One side always felt the other must be destroyed.

The Kyber Crystal is central to the beliefs of the Guardians of the Whills for many reasons. Not least among them the Guardians believe that the crystals provide an important connection to the Force for those that do not have the ability to make use of the Force but can still feel its presence.

Nearly all Force based “religions” understand that the Force is in all living things, however the Guardians understanding goes deeper than that. While those that are non “force sensitive” cannot make use of the Force the Gaurdians of the Whills believe that any who puts their mind to it can feel the Force and even others within it.One of the first objects a new Guardian learns to sense are Kyber crystals. The crystals have a natural reservoir of the Force that is stronger than most anything else making them ideal for such instruction.

I did an abbreviated write up for the Guardians of the Whills back when the Sixth Timeline broke but I couldn't come up with a decent motive at the time so I put the idea aside. I decided to bring it back as it seemed it might fit better in this TL, especially with Jedha gone. At the very least the motive could be to reestablish the Holy City and return as many of its Kyber Crystals as could be found. Of course, this could take place along with other missions. They could be allies with the Jedi, and thus under their umbrella, and give more mission and RP opportunities to the Order. At the same time, Members of the Order would not be members of the Guardians of the Whills and vise versa. At the very least, this would add to the Lore of this TL and another group that could be interacted with in RP settings.
