DESCRIPTION
The Munifex-class frigate is a capital ship originally manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards for the Trade Federation in the decades prior to the Clone Wars. Although not as iconic or powerful as the corporation's gigantic Lucrehulk-class bulk freighter/warships, the Munifex was more numerous. After the formation of Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Munifex was integrated into the larger fleet, many serving with distinction until the CIS' defeat.

After the destruction of the Confederacy, the remaining Munifex frigates were taken over by the Galactic Empire, who - unlike with many other CIS capital ship classes - was happy to integrate the type into its fleet. Munifex frigates were typically seen in low-priority systems and rear areas during the Galactic Civil War. In this way, many survived the death of the Empire and were taken on by the New Republic Navy, who basically put them to the same tasks as before.

As warships of its era go, the Munifex isn't bad, mounting heavy turbolasers, ion cannons and tractor beams. It also has a crew of 580, can carry 200 passengers, has 500 tons of cargo space and 2 months worth of consumables. Though not as flexible as some later designs, the Munifex is a sturdy ship, and is likely to see much continued service. For now, most examples are part of various independent system fleets, or are in mothball fleets across the Galaxy. Pirates and mercenaries use them widely as well.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Munifex-class frigates are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
To bring a vessel from Legends into our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
Munifex-class frigates are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. They may be used as a faction asset, however.
