Thread Prefix: Canon planet

Name: Mydasos

Coordinates: Located in the Dalicron sector, between the Corellian Trade Spine and the Hydian Way

Hyperlane: Unknown

Climate: Unknown (There is not much info in the wiki. Possibly the same as deep jungle climate and swamp marsh: Longer rain seasons, and heat seasons; thunderstorms, earthquakes; maybe even tornadoes. It doesn't seem to conceive four seasons as it is described. Or even if it has any ice on the poles but that's probably the case for the generic planet weather cycles. If so it might have icycle storms in the north and south regions but those are unknown)

Terrain: The planet was home to marshlands, continent-spanning forests, and craggy mountains jutting out of those forests. It is home to varieties of flora and fauna. (Probably ice on poles but is not confirmed by canon)

Rotation: Unknown

Inhabitants: Mydasos was home to the symbiotic Phydolon species (It is unknown if they are the dominant species of the planet but the only sentience known so far by canon), although the fungal reign seems to be the predominant species in getting the most evolutionary development

Resources: Unknown (For instance you could presume some diversity in the known resources that might be found on the planet. However as this planet is canon, there is a chance according to these guidelines to find rare elements in it

Government: This world is canonically known for being home of one sentient species alone, and they do not live in an advanced society, but in communities. Even so it could be possible to visit this communities to agree an alliance or allow the presence and influence to the Jedi order and galaxy trading

Culture: The Phydolon species who are the only sentient beings don't worship any known belief, but they do have a deep bond with the living things (Their society might be native as much). However, even when there is no wiki info about that, the wiki also says that at least one Jedi was from this race in the past [Now I am]. It would be worth to develop through roleplay into that matter, on how much it was influenced by the galaxy)

Technology: Unknown (With low access to technology like engines and other low grade machines)

Satellites: Unknown satellites and other planetary phenomenon (Wiki does not say much more about it)

History: Unknown (Wiki does not say much about it either. However it is mentioned in a game of the franchise. And I'll watch the gameplays to see if I find any more info concerning to its history)

Intent: My character is a Jedi Knight from this planet, and I would not be coherent to say that he doesn't care what happens to his world but the opposite. In fact, due to his relative proximity to Mustafar's system, I can say my character is very interested in getting his homeworld protected from evil, if the Jedi can help to be intermediaries for the Republic or the Free world alliance. It is more plausible to think the Phydolon would accept the Jedi guidance instead of high technological alignments but… this is like church vs technology, and everything is possible, as there are many communities of them. Trade agreements and bases, mines, open for trading and factories could be home to this world too. Since it is a canon planet, the big plus is the chance of being able to find something rare in it, but that's not of my interest. My only concern is the character's will towards his people, also leaving room for other players to find any worth from experiencing the history and roleplay. Finally is to say that I have no intent to propose this planet as an element to interfere with the main plots (Of which I'm not fully aware yet), this is just another planet of the galaxy with open and canonical possibilities

Final notes: I don't want to be taken as a lazy writer, however, I do not own cannon planets and because of this, it would be unfair to set all the planetary aspects by myself. For that sake I ask for your patience and it would be good if we can build this planet lore in depth together, in talks OOC and then IC, or in any way the administration determines

If I had to ask for something is that no matter the plot and interest you all may have over this planet, if we can keep it woody and green so we don't have an Earth planet 2.0 consumed by oil exploits, mercury enviromental dissasters due to illegal mining, and those stuff gray stuff we hate about reality. But you don't have to take my word for serious, this is just my wish

Hello there

If you are expanding a canon planet, which it is you appear to be doing, then you are going to have to actually expand it with the write-up. I understand that canon info on this world is lacking, but putting 'Unknown' in a field is not expanding on the world. You are going to have to come up with a definite section for it. All the commentary in the parenthesis through out the write-up needs to be absent from the write-up as well.

If a field is unknown in either canon or legends, such as rotation for example, decide on something.

Here is an example of a fine write-up that has both no info in canon and in legends. I see that you are new here, so this would be a good idea to take a look at the other approved planets, how they put their information, what their intents sections look like .etc It may help.

Another clarification, the author of a given planetary write-up isn't given automatic ownership of the world. These write-ups are just to create lore for the shared site canon we are participate in for all to use for our stories. For canon worlds, it expands on them.

If your objective is to build the planet lore in depth together through out the roleplay, it may be best for us to have this submission moved to the workshop and then steadily edit as you do roleplay it out. Then submit it once you feel it's complete. Because at the moment this write-up isn't complete.

Think of it this way: A good planetary write-up should give any roleplay who wishes to roleplay on it a clear setting a clear picture of what the planet should be. As it stands, we only have 'probably this, and maybe that'.

Let me know what you want to do or if you have any questions

@Senna

Hello! I will take your first proposal. I'll be editing the thread to be more neutral, providing basic planetary data.

Is it possible to make this world appear in the labels? I wish to actively roleplay in his homeworld.

you mean like prefixes in the Story section?

Typically only major canon worlds have prefixes. There are way too many planets in the star wars universe for every planet to have a prefix there

But you can still roleplay on this world regardless. There are many many planets that have been roleplayed on that lack the prefix.

That changes everything! Thanks! I'll be editing the thread.
