DESCRIPTION
The N2 Warpod is a pinnace-type combat spacecraft manufactured by Ulig Abaha Limited. Considered obsolete in concept, the Warpod has nevertheless been a relatively steady seller for its manufacturer, who market it primarily to the system defense forces of less developed planets. The type has also proven popular with both law enforcement agencies and pirates.Reminiscent in form of some designs by Koensayr Manufacturing, the N2 Warpod is approximately 20 meters in length. Its sole armament consists of a pair of independently rotating single-barrel medium laser turret, 1 dorsal and 1 ventral, each controlled by a separate gunner. The rest of the crew consists of the pilot and copilot, the latter also being tasked with operating the high-intensity plasma torch mounted on the Warpod's ventral hull. This device is used to cut holes in the hulls of starships, over which can be fitted the Warpod's retractable docking bridge. This allows the Warpod's compliment of 6 passengers - usually marines - to board other ships. Afterward, the Warpod can hall away up to a standard ton of cargo.
The N2 Warpod's utility to pirate operations should of course be obvious. In addition to hostile boarding actions, the ship is capable of taking on less advanced starfighters and gunships, with decent maneuverability and a flexible armament making up for its only mediocre speed. It is, of course, not really meant to go up against more modern fighters, and these will give it a hard time.
