DESCRIPTION​

Initially developed as the Royal Yacht for the incumbent Monarch of Naboo back during the period of history known as 'The Clone Wars', the design has been revamped and its specifications bought up to modern levels by the Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering group, and is now available on the open market for those who pass the companies checks. Equipped with long range communication suites, life support and luxurious cabins, the ship is designed for long range diplomatic missions, serving as a home-away-from-home for the Galaxies political and diplomatic elite. Traditionally the ship runs with a modest crew, and accomodates a fire team of security personnel, as well as a complement of astromech units for inflight repairs.

With the supply reserves able to keep the ship running for up to six months in good comfort, it is quite simply a must have for the busy politician. Designed for royals and ambassadors alike, it has meeting rooms, private chambers and excellently high standards of furnishings. All of this is accessable via a boarding ramp, and commanded from a secure yet sparse cockpit. Lacking weapons, the ship relies on escorts, speed and the good will of its host for secuity.

Like other ships made by the same manufacturer it can carry a large amount of cargo, making it able to support relief missions. It is uncommon to see these ships outside the control of planetary Governments, Noble families or the business elite.

This ship is entirely legal to own, but it would be illegal to class it as a diplomatic vessel without government authorisation.

The Royal Naboo Security Forces, otherwise known as the Royal Security Forces, or abbreviated to RNSF and RSF, were the planetary defence forces of Naboo. Officially a 'Security Force' as opposed to military, the RSF was mostly focused on the protection of civilians, Government officials and the airspace of Naboo. One of the oldest continuously active units in the known galaxy, the RSF has existed since the days of the Old Republic and it is considered to be an honour to volunteer to serve within its ranks.

Due to Naboo being a member of the Independent Systems Constortium, the RSF exists within the command structure of the ISC Army.

History

Established millennia ago, during the formation of the human Government on Naboo by its first settlers, the RSF was initially set up as the personal bodyguard detachment of the Monarch of the Naboo, and as the years went on, became a wider spanning 'Civic Policing & Security' organisation. As the centuries went on, the RSFs role as a peacekeeping and security organisation was further cemented, through acts of the Monarchy, and the involvement of the Naboo Upper-Classes, who often volunteered their children to join up.

Perhaps the most notable use of the RSF on the galactic stage would occur during the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, during which time the Trade Federation carried out an occupation of Naboo. Enabling the evacuation of Queen Amidala, who headed to the Core to rally support for her homeworld, the RSF engaged in ground combat with the droid legions of the federation. Whilst the RSF was defeated, and many of its members detained, some would go on to form a resistance against the occupation, laying the foundations for the recapture of Naboo upon Queen Amidala's return some months later.

During the subsequent 'Imperial Era', the RSF supported the planet once more, gently resisting efforts by Imperial Governors to disband the group, and subject the world to Stormtrooper control. As such, throughout the Imperial Era, involvement from the Empire in the matter of Naboos security was minimal.

Following the collapse of the Empire, the RSF took a more active role in the security and peacekeeping efforts of the 'New Republic'.

In the modern-day, the RSF has remained true to its historic ideals and forms the Planterary Defence Force of Naboo, with a detachment of soldiers seconded to the ISC Army, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure Naboo meets its factional obligations.

Organisation

The RSF is divided into various operational units, including the Royal Security Police Force, the Royal Marine Regiment, the RSF Intelligence Division and the Naboo Planetary Defense. At anyone time, it is estimated that around 15,000.00 full time personel are serving with the RSF and many more as volunteers.

Consisting of professional service personnel, and a territorial group of volunteers, the RSF is split into a number of factions:

• Handmaidens: Effectively a secret service within the security forces, Handmaidens support the Monarch and members of the Government in a wide range of duties. Whilst many of their duties are mundane in nature, the Handmaidens double as a highly trained bodyguard detachment to the person they are charged to protect.
• Palace Guard: The most public arm of the RSF, with striking uniforms recognisable across the region, these individuals are station within the Theed Royal Palace, and act as ceremonial guards. Whilst they have a ceremonial function, however, they are the backbone of the RSF, and fulfil the role of bodyguards to the Royals, Nobles and Government representatives across Naboo. It is common to find them stationed at embassies across the Galaxy, protecting Naboo diplomatic representatives.
• Security Officers and Guards: With Officers serving as paid full-time staff, and guards as volunteers, this faction forms the main element of the day-to-day security staff across Naboo. Effectively a police force, they can most commonly be seen at spaceports, and in town centres, where their services are most needed.

Alongside this, the RSF boasts a small, but well-known and effective star-fighter force focused on the protection of Naboo Airspace. Made up of volunteers in the traditional style of Naboos long history of public service, this small but well-trained force is the first line of defence against hostile attacks against the planet.

Equipment and Loadout

• Royal Security Police Force: Made up of the below factions, the RSPF if the main arm of the the RSF, and makes use of Technical armed speeder for rapid troop deployment.
  • Handmaidens: Numbers not publically disclosed, estimated to be around one to two hundred. Equipment varies based on assignment.
  • Palace Guard: One Thousand Infantrymen, equipped with trooper armour, DH-17 Carbines and assorted comms equipment.
  • Security Officers: Four Thousands Officers, equipped with trooper armour, DH-17 Carbines and assorted comms equipment.
• Royal Marine Regiment: Currently on secondment to the ISC Army, this Regiment follows the same organisational and equipment rules as other ISC regiments.
• Naboo Planetary Defence: A volunteer force, making use of old equipment and basic flak vests, this group is mustered only in the event of an invasion.
• Naboo Royal Spacefighter Corp - Five Squadrons of Twenty-Four N-1 Starighters, and their crews.

Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps​

Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps (also known as Theed Hangers) was a small design firm located on Naboo, which manufactured vehicles solely for the people of Naboo and its Monarchy. The organisation was a dependent branch of the Royal Naboo Security Forces, acting as one of its main suppliers. Working closely with Nubia Star Drives, Incorporated, Theed Hangers was well regarded as a high-quality engineering studio, which produced high-end spacecraft and vehicles in a classical Nabooian design.

Located in the Theed Hangar building on the estate of the Theed Royal Palace, the corps had its main design hub here. With specific parts manufactured across Naboo and its moons, the Hangers brought in parts from Nubia where needed.

Whilst their designs were intended to be aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly (such as the N-1 starfighter, which boasted an elegant and economic design, alongside modified engines with reduced emission footprint) they were no less deadly and effective. Some of the most highly regarded engineers on Naboo would end up at the Corps, which was considered a great honour.

The incumbent Queen of Naboo served as 'patron' of the Corps, with her Government being the companies sole customer.
