DESCRIPTION​

The Nella 342 is a light freighter designed and manufactured by the SoroSuub Corporation some time prior to the Clone Wars. Though a modest hit in its day, the 342 was eclipsed by advanced designs from the Corellian Engineering Corporation such as the YT-1300, the debut of which drastically cut into the 342's sales. In the present day, Nella 342s are fairly rare, although they can occasionally still be found in service in backrocket regions of the Galaxy. The type was known in its day for its durability, reliability and better-than-average speed.

The Nella 342 is typical of "pre-YT" freighters, with mostly unimpressive specs compared to later models. The type is 29.7 meters in length, with an oval-shaped fuselage and a single forward mandible tipped with an oblong cockpit pod. The ship's cargo capacity is about 50 standard tons, plus up to 5 passengers. The crew consists of only 1 individual, a pilot. The 342 carries no armament, and has only light defensive shields. Stock top speed is a respectable 60 MGLT, with a class 2 hyperdrive.
