Tell me if this is new or not. I swear this is new.

Read the fine print.

Internet price includes 150GB of data/mo. Additional $10 charge per each 50GB of data usage in excess of data plan. U-verse Internet price includes 250GB of data/mo. For more information, go to www.att.com/internet-usage.

This is for HOME internet! Is this the shape of things to come? Gamers, Chromecasters, and YouTube users beware! Even browsing gifs on Tumblr is going to be expensive!

That's not new. When I had U-verse a few years back they had that extra 50 GB/$10 policy, too. That was in 2011-2012ish.

Yeah, I remember being surprised at the time, but I don't think I ever came close to the cap.

I think, like cell carriers, you can call and ask them to text/phone/e-mail you an alert if you get close, too. But maybe that's just me bein' optimistic and misremembering.

Nop, they do that. I used to have U-Verse as well, and can vouch that I too never came close to going over the limit. Their service actually wasn't too bad, irrc.

My service is shitty, but my roommate probably logs a few dozen hours of Destiny every month and I haven't hit the cap yet, so....
