Tabloid New Republic Admiralty Shake Up

Interesting news has appeared overnight from Coruscant and the Department of Naval Affairs. Grand Admiral Horun, the Commander of the 5th Fleet has been removed from his post and replaced with Vice Admiral Kantan originally of the 7th Fleet. A joint official statement from the Department as well as the Office of the Supreme Chancellor has been released this morning.

“The Office of the Supreme Chancellor and the wider Republic Military and Peoples, thanks Admiral Horun for his exemplary service throughout the years within the New Republic Navy. However with the constantly changing atmosphere within the Galaxy, we believe it is time for a change of leadership within the 5th Fleet and the Admiralty Board. We wish Admiral Horun a long and happy retirement.”

Our sources have claimed that Admiral Horun was a staunch advocate for the Jedi Order and the Free World Alliances continued conflict against the Sith Order and often butted heads with the Supreme Chancellor and members of his Cabinet on their stance to the war. Although he has been quiet since the later’s ceasefire, the recent attack by the Sith Empire on the Independent Systems Consortium may have caused the Department to act before we had another repeat of Llanic.

Vice Admiral Kantan is a rising star within the New Republic Military, earning recognition and invitation to a private dinner with the Supreme Chancellor and other Senior Officials within the Republic.
