Thread happening after the Senate assembly. Open to representatives of the NR, FWA, ISC or anyone rich enough to watch an opera
Hanna City, the capital of the planet of Chandrila and at the moment the location of the Galactic Senate. The city was also the place of an opera house, which today was presenting the famous ballet Squid Lake, the favourite of the Senator of Brentaal. Sibyl arrived sometime before the presentation, knowing that many politicians and members of the high society would arrive early with the intention of socializing. It was customary for patrons of opera houses to stand out from the crowd, by using their more extravagant clothing. Also following this philosophy, the Senator was wearing an extravagant gold lace long dress and white evening gloves.

She was accompanied by her protocol droid, Dongwa, and by heir aide Tristodd. Usually she would never bring the boy to an event like this, but he was acting so weird since the Senate’s assembly. At first she thought he was remorseful for making her embarrassed. However, hours after it Tristodd was still acting erratically, barely talking, not paying attention and being clumsy. The young man could be many things, from an idealist fool to an irritatingly cheerful boy, but he was never quiet. Sibyl knew very well how talkative her aide could be, with it being one of the many things that she hates in him.

Fearing that something bad was happening with him, the Senator decided to bring Tristodd for the opera, this way she could watch him and call a doctor if he started to have a seizure or something worse. Sibyl may sometimes want to get rid of the young Brentaalan, but if something really happened to Tristodd while he was with her, his parents would destroy her career. She just hoped that he wouldn't cause any embarrassment there with his newfound lack of attention. At least he was well dressed for the occasion, with a blue jacquard tailcoat with silver embroidery.

While they entered the Opera House, Sibyl started to explain the ballet that they were going to watch, in an attempt to make him speak. However, Tristodd wasn't paying attention. His mind was a chaos, being divided between reflecting on the possibility of being a Force user and in thinking about his crush on President Thorne. The one thinking about the crush is winning so far. It was his first crush and he feels so stupid! Tristodd never had time to think about relationships that weren’t related to politics, romances are a new concept for him. He didn't even have real friends, most of his acquaintances were old classmates or sycophants from other noble houses. Since he was little he only did one thing in his life: study to be the best politician that House Brentioch has ever had, this way making his parents proud.

After all, the Brentaalan nobility held efficiency and personal skill as great values. Because of this, his parents were always so strict with him and his brother Reegian. Tristodd remembers that when he was a child and wanted a break from his studies after hours doing it, they would tell that members of House Brentioch were studious and not lazy, only losers were lazy. His fear of disappointing them would renew his strength to study. The Brentaalan man also remembers how sometimes he would wake up at night after a nightmare where he was being expelled from home with nothing but his clothes while his parents and his brother were screaming at him for being a great failure. This is why he sacrificed his childhood and adolescence to study, he feared disappointing his parents.

Regarding his apparent ability with the Force, when he was alone in his room, Tristodd tried to make his exercise balls fly to his hand again, but they barely moved. Perhaps he should ask someone to teach him, but who? The young man was afraid of what would happen if everyone discovered that he can use the Force. In fact he was more scared of what would happen if his family found out. Just thinking about it made him feel an anxiety attack coming. The man touched his pocket, feeling his exercise balls there. Tristodd knew that Senator Lassiter hated when he used it in public, but he really needed it to stay calm. Talking with Reegian also used to help, but he seemed to be becoming more like their father everyday. They used to be best friends before their father sent Tristodd to study in Chandrila.

Tristodd, are you paying attention?” Sibyl turned to her aide after giving a big speech about the story behind the Squid Lake. He nodded to her , but she could see by his stupid face and vague eyes that he didn't heard anything. Sibyl sighed, controlling herself to not slap him. “Come. I want to talk with some friends before the presentation.” she walked through the corridors of the opera, with Tristodd following her while thinking what he should do with his life. He wouldn't admit it, but a part of him hoped that President Thorne would be there.

The Senator from Kuat arrived at the Opera House not too long after, sporting a tactfully refined and intricately-beaded pale pink gown complete with matching opera gloves. Her hair, quite a bit darker than her dress but still a complementary shade of pink, had been fashioned into a waterfallof curls whose only purpose seemed to be to frame her sharp facial features and striking make-up, sprigs of tiny white flowers having been placed almost haphazardly throughout the odd-yet-attractive do to further make her stand out from the crowd.

Escorting her, as always, was her sharply-dressed and endearingly reliable Telbun, Vilkinar. With one of her slender arms curled around his, the pair would make their rounds of the foyer, chatting up the various politicians and wealthy patrons they crossed paths with, all while procuring themselves a program for tonight's Opera somewhere along the way. It wasn't well-known by those outside her inner circle, but Eumi wasn't truly a philanthropist. Not in the area of the arts, that is. The truth of the matter was that one of her many duties as a Senator of the New Republic was to make public appearances. She was to be seen with the rich and powerful of any world she visited, and she was to steer them in the direction of her own humble home planet - and their famous Drive Yards. Stock prices always jumped when the young Senator made a public appearance, and the Principal Director had made certain she would attend several events while visiting Chandrila.

It would have been a waste otherwise.

Stopping to introduce herself to one such rich patron, Eumi would play up the image of a young and naïve Senator still trying her best to do what she thought was right for the people of the Galaxy. In reality, she had no clue what was right or wrong for the 'people'. She just knew what was good for Kuat. What was good for the Principal Director. She was playing a part, and the young woman only hoped she could remember her lines.

It felt like it had been an eternity since Tiamat had returned to the core; it was everything that brought a sense of familiarity and comfort that she had not felt in years. It was more than just nostalgia for her, but what she could actually call her home regardless where she had settled in the Outer Rim. An opportunity rose which is why she had returned under a new identity to protect herself and possibly anyone else who dared to cause trouble. When she arrived at the opera house, she could feel her inner child and ballerina swell with elation to be present and to see the upcoming performance. It had been so long that she had wondered if much of the discomfort she had felt was just because she was homesick.

Regardless, here she was to do more than watch a performance and hoped to begin networking with others who held similar interests (but watching the show would become priority when it started of course...). Tiamat strolled through the entrance lobby, checking in her coat before heading into the hall where others were gathered to drink and mingle before the show started. Her red locks were replaced with flaxen ones, soft curls fell along her cheeks and shoulders as she weaved her way through the pockets of beings in conversation. Her dress was modest, but spoke of elegance, her clutch tucked under her arm as she begun to recognize some faces in the room.

Her blue eyes drifted upward to the décor that lined the walls, probably as old as some of the artifacts she had examine within the Sith. She paused though to look through the skylight, catching the brightest stars that were just starting to shine through the early night sky. Though in her awe, she would brush the shoulder of a pink haired senator (@Tess) and Tia quickly looked down, apologizing for any interruption.

Amongst all the hustle and fanfare a simple taxi-speeder tried to slip down to the entrance of the opera, only to be blocked by the security. It wasn't the first time they had to turn away someone very much not on the invite list. But this time they let the cab through, looks of surprise on their faces as the cab moved on towards the entrance. Similar looks were shared by the paparazzi waiting at the entrance, the few strays who had spotted the cab quickly drawing the attention of their peers as they noticed the man emerging from the cab.

Such was their shock that he was almost halfway up the steps to the building's main entrance. "Senator Drast!" One of them finally called out as he gathered his wits about him, the Coruscanti Senator turning to acknowledge the reporter with a smile. "Who are you wearing?" The question, one that had been asked to many a attendee to have walked in before Drast, was the first thing that had come to the flustered reporter's mind. "This?" Caliban replied as he looked at the simple suit he wore, "Galactic Apparel Providers, clearance rack, 49.99. Quiet a steal, non?" He left the reporter behind with that and continued up the stairs, making his way into the building proper. In his wake he left a mass of ecstatic reporters. A Senator wearing a suit from the GAP to the Hanna Opera? This was definitely a scoop worthy of page three.

True to his word, Caliban had donated everything he owned, including the fancy suits that he had been forced to buy at the begining of his tenure, and was living a life similar to his early days out of the military. That meant simple clothing, simple housing, and simple travel. Which did mean he might stand out a little, though his aide had made sure he wouldn't stand out too much. Cheap though his suit might be, she had ensured that it was tailored to fit him well, his military discipline that ensured he was as fit as he had been when he left the service had also helped. As he entered the building, taking note of the architecture and the people gathered there, he couldn't help but notice that he might be very much alone in this idealistic crusade of his. Still, as he walked through the crowd, spotting faces he knew, he couldn't deny that they did know how to dress up when the occasion called for it.

Truth be told, Emryc had very little desire to attend this. While he normally appreciated the arts, he had been in back to back diplomatic sessions for the past few weeks. Emryc didn’t spend too much time in the Core, and when he did, he tended to do all his public appearances in a sequence before leaving for the Outer Rim again. Though he attempted to return early, his advisors and aides strongly suggested taking the time to attend the opera and mingle with the other Senators. This was especially because there were some new faces he hadn’t formally met before.

President Thorne was never known to be theatrical in how he dressed, and the same was true tonight. He was dressed in a stylish, but tame three-piece suit and tie. His hair was perfectly coiffed, and he wore a platinum chrono on his left wrist. As usual, he also wore a brand name cologne that had a mixture of earthy cedars with a hint of spiced herbs.

The half Sephi didn’t greet anyone immediately, having arrived early. He was seated at the bar, a cigarra languidly resting between two fingers while he sipped from a glass of whiskey. While he sampled many drinks around the galaxy, he was still partial to the Core whiskeys. Silver gaze scanned the audience briefly, catching a few familiar faces from the Galactic Senate session.

Emryc’s attention was drawn to a far too familiar presence, his eyes following the woman in the elegant black dress (@GABA). The hair didn’t match, but… The half Sephi didn’t linger too much on it, blowing out a cloud of smoke before focusing back on his drink. He almost dreaded walking out into the crowd because of the potential media questions on why the President of the ISC had arrived tonight without a date.

Korre loved parties. Her job included a lot of desk and paper work, and if she wasn't in her office she was hunched over a microscope in a lab coat. While she enjoyed both (perhaps the latter more than the former), there wasn't much time for socializing in fancy gowns with a glass of something strong in her hand. So when the woman had the chance to attend such an event, she was often the first through the door.

It was, however, a little difficult for her to be first through the door when reporters surrounded her and peppered her with questions before she could slip inside. The Belascan was no stranger to being asked questions, but it was usually in a structured environment on subjects she was knowledgeable about. The inquiries being thrown at her by men and women in dark suits and flashing cameras ranged from "Who are you wearing tonight?" to "When did you and Dr. Morata decide to collaborate on the Global Health Organization?" to "What are your opinions on Senator X, Governor Y, or Representative Z?" to "Is there anyone 'special' back at home?" By the time Korre actually made it through the doors, after doing her best to answer relevant questions quickly, she looked a bit frazzled. But, seeing that drinks had already begun to be made and others were already socializing, she smoothed down her dress and made her way further in.

The FWA Senator was wearing an elegant silver gown which hugged her curves and featured a very deep neckline. A necklace made of sparkling gems hung down nearly as far as the plunge, and the same pattern was copied on the mesh sleeve. She felt absolutely radiant in the dress, and the red-headed woman's confidence grew with every step she took into the opera house. Now that she was away from the nagging reporters, she had a moment to observe and think.

'Who all is here tonight?' It seemed like she was the only FWA to arrive, which was unsurprising. The ISC president was lounging by the bar, and a slew of New Republic senators were standing about. There was a blonde women Korre didn't recognize from the Senate room as well. 'I wonder if they too were bothered with questions about their love lives and their clothing?' It was so absurd that one of the reporters had thrown a mic in her face and questioned her about her romantic life. She almost wanted to shake her head and laugh. 'Is this what happens when I speak up in the Senate?' She might need to make a quieter entrance next time if this would become normal.

Desiring a drink, Korre made her way toward the bar. Her heels made muffled taps against the carpeted floor, but the sound ceased when she reached her destination. The woman stopped somewhere to the left of Emyrc and signaled the bartender over her way.

"What can I get you, miss?" inquired the bartender.

"What do you suggest?" Korre asked this as she sat down on one of the bar stools.

"We have an aged Corellian bourbon that is quite popular."

"I'll take the bourbon then, please." Korre crossed her legs and drummed her fingers against the hard surface of the bar, then accepted her glass with a smile once he poured it. She turned around on the stool to face the greater room, her blue eyes surveying the space again as she took a sip of her whiskey. Her interest was peaked by the lady in black, but she was across the room. Korre's gaze lingered on the disguised Tiamat for a moment or two before moving on. There was another very interesting person much closer to Korre at the moment. She turned to face Emyrc who was seated nearby.

"I've never actually tasted a Corellian whiskey before," she mused as she brought the drink down from her lips. "I feel as if I may have been missing out." Korre had no idea how to start a conversation with the man, but she wouldn't be discouraged by such a small thing. They both seemed to be drinking whiskey, so why not? They were strangers, but between Governor Galek's party and the Senate Assembly, they had enough interactions that Korre felt comfortable enough. If she had any bit of hesitation to talk to the man, it was hidden by the smile that always seemed to somewhere on her person.

"Have you seen Squid Lake before?" Korre hadn't. It really wasn't what she wanted to talk about either, but she would guess he might be tired of politics. She could always thank him for his support later on.

"Five men would be fine." Julias clipped tones cut across the holo call "A simple extraction, minimal casualties. Run it by Carrick, and then secure sign off for mission launch." she waved her hand, turning the holo off, before standing and getting changed. After a hectic session at the Senate building, Julia had called her yacht around and headed to the opera - following an invite from a colleague of hers.

She was adorned in a smart dress, understated, but one that projected confidence, much like Julia herself.

"Contact Carricks office," she called through to her secretary droid in the other room "...I need thirty minutes of his time, I cannot keep asking his departments permission to deploy security. I need some flexibility myself." Julia added, more to herself than anyone else. She collected herself, as the ship touched down.

Within a few moments, she was headed into the opera itself. Walking past the assembled press, she stopped to wave at the cameras - giving them their picture if nothing else - before heading inside. Julia was not a massive fan of these events, dominated as they often were by the great, the good, and the oftentimes useless. However, it was part of her job; so here she was.

Spotting the President, she smiled, and raised her glass to him, before focusing her attention elsewhere. After all - President Thorne and her had things to do, even here, and spending the entire evening talking to each other, was not one of them.

Walking up to Senator Lassiter, who was in conversation with her young aide, Julia introduced herself "Senator Lassiter, I certainly hope I'm interrupting something?" she did not laugh "And Mr Brentioch, a pleasure. How did you find the session?"

Sibyl was quizzing Tristodd on why he was acting so absentmindedly today, when she noticed the Governor of Lahsbane approaching “Governor Hipori, it’s a pleasure to meet you in person.” the Senator looked to the young man out of the corner of her eye. He escaped for now. “You didn't interrupt anything important, we were going to the bar. Will you follow us?"

Tristodd was grateful for the arrival of the Governor. Senator Lassiter was pressuring him to explain why he was acting this way. The young Brentaalan was nearly confessing everything, Sibyl can be frighteningly persuasive sometimes. Relieved, he turned to Hipori with one of his best cheerful smiles “It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Governor. I think this session was very revealing. ”indeed it was, he developed a crush and discovered that was a Force user in a timespan of minutesGovernor Hipori, I need to say that I admire you and your career.” then he started to talk excitedly to the Governor, asking questions about the ISC and trying to make parallels between it and the New Republic. His crush and fears forgotten, for now.

While she walked to the bar, Sibyl spotted Senator Korre Belasi and President Emryc Thorne. She approached them. “Senator Belasi! President Thorne! It’s a pleasure to meet you both in person. This is my aide, Tristodd Brentioch.” she turned to the young man, but what the Brentaalan Senator saw made her become confused. Tristodd had suddenly stopped talking with Governor Hipori and his face became red. He started to approach the bar but tripped on his own feet, nearly falling with his face on the floor. By this point Sibyl was furious.

Stupid!Stupid!Stupid!Stupid! His mind repeated constantly. He was embarrassing Senator Lassiter in front of everyone. Worst! He is embarrassing himself in front of President Thorne. If his parents were there they would say how he was embarrassing House Brentioch and that the etiquette lessons were a waste of time and money as he seems to be unable to learn anything. You are worthless. Tristodd mind said while he recovered from the nearly fall.

H-Hello! I-It’s a p-pleasure to m-meet y-you both.” The young aide said, looking at the Senator of Belasco, while avoiding looking directly at the President. However, he made the fatal error of looking at Emryc. The man was even more gorgeous when seen up close. The suit showed his muscles so well. His hair was so perfect. His pointed ears were so cute. And his eyes! Tristodd felt lost looking at them “I like you. What in all hells did I just say?I-I mean. I-I like y-your career, President T-Thorne. I really admire y-you for e-everything t-that y-you did as the P-President of the I-ISC. Y-You are a g-great i-inspiration to me.” He smiled nervously and bowed in respect, but the movement made one of the exercise balls fall out of his pocket and roll through the floor. “E-Excuse me, I-I need to c-catch that.” The young Brentalaan muttered while he went to hunt it. Meanwhile, Sibyl stared at him with murderous intent in her eyes.

The ball stopped at the feet of a woman with flaxen hair (@GABA). Tristodd was approaching it, his hand open. He was nervous and afraid, his mind constantly repeating the word “stupid”. Then the ball flew to him, like how it happened during the Assembly. He used the Force, again. He looked at the woman in front of him “Hello.” he muttered with a nervous smile, hoping that she hadn't saw what he had done.

Even when he was in the FWA military Covax was never a big fan of the core worlds. To clean, to many rules. To that end, he never wanted or had to opportunity to visit Chandrila. Let alone it's capital, Hanna City. However after a finishing up a "diplomatic" mission on Hoth for Chancellor Ro. The human mercenary was gifted a health amount of unmarked credits, as well as a ticket to Squid Lake.

So that evening, ticket in his pocket. Covax made his way to the event. Having a few credits to burn, Covax hired a Ryd-Lux speeder service. Even managed to find a suit that fit his imposing frame, and even had a pocket to fit his holdout weapon. The speeder rolling up behind a taxi of some poor politician's aid. The poor sob looked like he walked out of the public defender's office of level 1313 (@Wit ).

As the reporters distracted themselves with the Drast wannabe. Covax made his way inside. Having a good idea of what was to come, he knew he needed a drink. So approaching the bar, he heard the ravishing looking redhead ask about the bourbon (@lizziie ). Approaching beside and slightly behind her, he lifted a couple of fingers to gesture to the bartender and get his attention.

"Make that two."

Clackclackclackclackclack

Claudias gave a pensive glance at his wrist. Even with his cab pilot going well past Chandrila's speed limits, he was barely going to make it on time at this rate. Out of habit, the ambassador began to tap the floor of the cab with the tip of his cane, chewing on his lip. As his neck twisted from an unexpected twitch, he bit down hard, drawing blood.

Suppressing a cry of pain, the noble let his cane fall to the side, reaching into his pocket for a handkerchief. Habits like these had cultivated a man that had to prepare for a variety of often random, trivial injuries. Taking the handkerchief to his lips, he began wiping up his accident. He kept his lips shut the entire time, not even saying his traditional "thank you" to the cab pilot as he handed him a tip. Hobbling out, he hurried inside.

Clack. Clack. Clack, thump. Thump. Thump.

The man's cane transitioned from a distinct clacking against the metal landing pad, to the long, carpeted interior of the operahouse' main hall. The bleeding had stopped, though the throbbing pain in his lip was still great. He'd make his way to the nearest refresher, Claudias tried to wash out his mouth. Feeling only slightly better, and already five minutes late, Claudias headed towards the seating block he'd purchased tickets for. Once there, he began surveying the group that had arrived... and he was impressed.

He recognized a number of faces. He'd already known that Sibyl would be there, so seeing her was unsurprising. But along with her were several senators, who he could hardly believe were in the same place. Between Caliban Drast and Korre Belasi, he didn't think the people he'd be sitting with could be any more prestigious. Yet, almost instantly proven wrong, Claudias mouth hung agape as he saw none other than Emryc Thorne standing near Senator Belasi, and a woman in a black dress that he couldn't recognize at all.

And who else was speaking to him but his beloved nephew? Claudias had heard the boy fall, and was absolutely horrified at the sight. By the time he'd hobbled over to the boy, he'd been stammering harder than he did. Talking to the President, Claudias watched in confusion. Was the boy simply awestruck at how he was standing before such an imposing and important man? Yes, that would be it. The only other alternative source from the look on Tristodd's face were those of his brother's mistresses, and that wouldn't make any sense.

Watching the boy walk off in a hurry, Claudias would manage to catch up to him.
"B-by the force, my boy, wh-what's gotten into you?!" He exclaimed, grabbing his young nephew by the shoulder. He let out a sigh, before adding, "I-I understand y-y-you're a bit overwhelmed... but try t-t-to enjoy yourself. This-is-is a rare opp-pp-pportunity to witness art of the h-h-HHggh--highest caliber, and f-fraternize with those who've already m-m-made their m-marks on history." He went on, smiling at the young man.

Claudias' outfit was distinct, but humble in it's own right. His father's beliefs had failed to transfer down to him in near every capacity, but one thing they'd both appreciated was tradition. Claudias was wrapped in the ancient, gold gilded,
red and white robes of Brentaal's venerable democratic assembly. It wasn't exactly fashionable, but it looked well on a meek, middle aged public servant.

Glancing at the flaxen haired woman, Claudias gave her a nod, adding,
"You'll h-have to forgive my nephew. His run-in with the p-president seems to have left him emb-b-barassed." He stated, glancing at the young man. There was a metal ball in his hand that, seconds earlier, hadn't been. The politician glanced at his nephew with confusion, before turning and finding himself face to face with a young, pink haired woman.

Blinking a few times, Claudias exclaimed,
"Oh! M-my, we all s-seem to hav-v-ve bunched up together f-for no g-g-good reason." He finished, attempting to make the series of shuffling and bumping a bit humorous. The foyer was large enough for dozens of people at the very least, but it seems everyone had congregated together in the middle, for really no reason at all. "How convenient." He thought to himself, though not entirely sure of what to do next.

Emryc didn’t miss Hipori arriving on the scene, and he returned her smile with a nod in greeting. He noticed the Senator of Belasco approaching and he promptly killed his cigarra, a casual wave of his hand dispersing the smoke. He had briefly met the woman up close on Indupar, but hadn’t seen her since. He said nothing initially, quietly sipping from his whiskey as she addressed him. Her ensemble did wonders for her, accenting her lithe frame and especially her vibrant eyes and hair. However, it was her impeccable mind that Emryc found most intriguing. While not feeling particularly social, Emryc was inwardly pleased it was someone like her that approached him instead of the usual overly loquacious types.

“You have been,” Emryc stated simply to her comment about whiskey, “Though I have been impressed with some aged samples from Gamorr of all places,” He grinned faintly, “If you don’t mind arm wrestling some Gamorreans for it.”

The half Sephi wasn’t the type to usually attend operas. It seemed like one of those things Morgan would drag him to and he would sit and tolerate without ever admitting that he didn’t mind it. Emryc looked around himself before answering.

“I haven’t,” Emryc admitted, “Quite frankly, I’m hoping to duck out early to visit the history museum down a few blocks before it closes. Evidently it contains samples and recordings from Princess Leia, Chancellor Mothma and also original models of starfighters and personal documents,” He sipped from his whiskey, his interests clearly far away from the opera itself, “Have you?” He remembered to ask her, having temporarily gotten lost in thoughts of burying himself in history.

Belasi was given a few moments to answer before the Senator of Brentaal and her attendant joined them. Emryc turned to regard the woman first, lifting his glass, “Senator Lassiter,” He said with a smile before silvers flicked over to the aide that began to speak. The half Sephi eyed him with mild curiosity as he stumbled over his words, casually taking sips from his whiskey as the man took an obnoxiously long time to get his words out. It was obvious Emryc had quite a bit of patience.

“Thank you, Mr. Brentioch,” Emryc said calmly, “I like me too,” He gave the man a playful wink before taking a sip from his whiskey, “You asked some critical questions during the Senate session. I hope we see more of you,” Before Tristodd could respond, he fumbled and began to chase after something he dropped, promptly joined by what was likely a relative.

Emryc focused his attention back on Lassiter and Belasi when he sensed Force use nearby. Just like in the Senate chambers, because this caught him so completely off guard, his ears twitched once more. His face tilted towards that direction, glancing for a moment at Tristodd and the blond haired - Oh. It finally registered who that woman was. Emryc’s gaze lingered there for a few quiet beats before he focused back on the ladies in front of him.

Despite all that had happened and what would be to come, Amariel could not say no to an invitation with so many high-ranking people present. Most of whom she could recognize quite easily by now; the swell of emotions that lingered through the room was like a malodorous perfume, wrapping around her senses and already making her want to escape the room. But she was here for one last step in the spheres of politics; she wasn't sure she would miss it, either.

The Doctor arrived just as the presence of the Force began to rise in the room. Stopping short for just a moment, she regarded the room, amber eyes glinting once in blank-faced stoic attitude.. and then she stepped in. Clad in a simple white slip of a dress, each step that rippled the fabric gave off glints of smoky blue and gold; long white hair was plaited back over each ear and gathered in a low ponytail, wrapped in gold, her mechanical arm the same plain white as before. And as usual, she didn't bother hiding it.

For the moment, she would slowly approach Caliban, full lips tilted into a slight smile.

He was still a handsome man, even with the air of scandal that wreathed around him. And the sight of Korre warmed her heart; she still owed the woman a date on Belasco. But beside her... amber eyes widened for a moment, before resuming their natural expression of cool. Was that Shane beside her? For a moment, she was tempted to change trajectory, but instead, decided to wait. Would he recognize her now, in this crush of people? Would he want to? And, naturally... President Thorne. Emryc. A man full of secrets... and a wall that even now made her curious, and cautious.

Approaching Drast, she took a moment to appreciate him. Even in clothes that weren't reeking of galactic credits, he was still a handsome man. She inclined her head once, then merely stood beside him, also observing the crowd.
"Is it in poor taste for me to say I'm glad to meet you here?" she asked quietly, tilting her head slightly to give him a glance. "Good evening, Senator."

Tiamat felt something bump her foot and the woman glanced down, seeing a small toy ball on the floor. Her brow furrowed in confusion, uncertain if she recalled seeing a child in the area; she begun to kneel down when the toy snapped back to a young man who seemed terribly awkward and distraught. Her blue eyes flicked from where her hand hovered, to the ball and then to his gaze, her brow narrowed in her own confusion. Did she...or did he...? Or was her mind playing tricks?

Nah, she was certain it was not her, but the woman didn't press it when he spoke, greeting her. "Hello." she grinned and held out her hand, "I'm Anat Asteria." Tiamat introduced herself using her pseudonym and avoiding her real name as well as her Sith name; she didn't feel like going back to high security republic prison and Emryc breaking her out, "You look familiar," she tilted her head slightly as though she were trying to pin him to someone she had seen previously. Though Tia really knew he was an aide if her memory served her correctly, but the man was awkward, perhaps nervous and she was just looking for someone to talk to and not be so awkward herself in a room full of talkative beings.

The young senator barely even felt the blonde's touch when she brushed against her, but turned to offer her ( @GABA ) a warm smile and a polite dip of her head as the woman apologized for the accident. “There's no need to apologize. It is quite crowded tonight, isn't it?”

She was about to say more when a young man ( @LouJoVi ) in a striking blue tailcoat came trotting over to the trio in pursuit of a small ball of some kind. How odd. She certainly recognized him from the senate chamber though, the young aide of Senator Lassiter, wasn't he? What was he up to with that thing? He seemed much too old for such toys. When he finally got up the courage to speak, she'd offer him a polite smile. “Hello there, you man. Are you well?”

As fate would have it, yet another person would wander into their little group not a moment later - as the flaxen-haired woman introduced herself to the aide. It was getting more and more crowded by the minute, it seemed. He was an older man ( @Tom ) with a cane, dressed in more traditional clothing, and he seemed to know the young aide and was quite concerned for him. Perhaps family? He didn't even seem to register the senator's existence until he turned and nearly ran into her. Eumi stiffened instinctively, expecting to be bumped, though thankfully he stopped just short of it. She smiled again. It was a defense mechanism at this point. “I believe we're all a little overwhelmed tonight, what with the beauty of the opera house and the chaos of the paparazzi asking us a million banal questions.” She'd reach out with a hand in a friendly gesture. “I think it would be only polite to introduce ourselves, seeing as we almost kissed.” She joked, taking in his humorous overtones and complimenting them with her own. “Eumi Redrish, current Senator of Kuat. And you are?”

Korre smiled as Emyrc spoke, taking a sip every few seconds or so. 'Gamorrean whiskey, huh?' Korre had never been to Gamorr, let alone even met a Gamorrean. She couldn't say she had a particular interest in visiting them and their homeworld. From her knowledge, they were often employed by the Hutts. The Belascan wanted little to do with anyone or anything associated with the Five Syndicates. If the whiskey was as good as he said, she would keep an eye out for it.

Alas, he had not yet seen Squid Lake. Korre would rate it a 6/10. It wasn't the worst opera she'd seen, but she wasn't really a big opera person. Nor was she a big movie person, for that matter. 'How old was I? 18? 19?' The woman had watched the production for the first time at some point in her teens. If she had to watch something she would much rather it either be a series of things she could waste a quick twenty to thirty minutes on, or some sort of documentary. Her own mother used to call her boring when she requested the holotv channel be turned to the science or history ones. Korre had little time to dedicate to television now; she wasn't too upset about it.

"There's a museum?" Korre interest was peaked and the entirety of her body language changed. Her eyes widened, she leaned a bit forward, and she quickly flicked her gaze towards the exit. Part of her wished he hadn't mentioned it, because there was no way she wanted to see an opera when there was a museum nearby. The surprise disappeared off her freckled features when he turned her question back on her.

"Oh, yes, some years ago. It's good, but I'm not really an opera-person," Korre answered. She didn't have time to add anything else before the senator of Brentaal appeared in her black and gold gown with her aid in tow. The red-headed woman gave both a big smile and a nod. She might've returned to pleasantries, but Tristodd proceeded to get into a fit of stutters before she could. Her blue eyes passed back and forth between him, Sibyl, and Emyrc while her expression remained as a polite smile. 'What in the world?' Korre wasn't the most adept at gauging the feelings of others, but it seemed a bit obvious to even her that the aid was a bit intimidated by the ISC president. 'Or in awe, perhaps. Definitely flustered.' Did Tristodd have a bit of a crush? Her gaze moved away from the boy as he ran away to catch something he'd dropped and toward Sibyl and Emyrc.

"Wonderful to make your acquaintance, Senator- " “Senator Lassiter." "-Lassiter." It was a quick catch. Korre was unfamiliar with the woman. She was older than Korre and certainly more established. She was also quite beautiful. Her dress fit her well; the gold and black was very elegant on the woman, giving her an air of regality. That being said, Emyrc wasn't bad looking either. Korre moved her gaze to the man to her right. He had the tall, dark and handsome look to him with his black hair and olive-toned complexion. Unfortunately, to her knowledge, neither were remotely close to her type. Give them a pair of glasses and a degree in something other than politics, then maybe.

Korre decided, due to Sibyl's obvious embarrassment over Tristodd, not to comment on him. When Emyrc glanced away, her eyes followed and found the blonde woman again. She also spotted Ilana and smiled when she caught sight of the alabaster doctor. She would make a point to say hello later.

"You said the museum had exhibits for Princess Leia and Chancellor Mothma?" The Belascan woman redirected the conversation back to what had originally peaked her interest. "Is it a museum dedicated to the years of the Empire and Rebellion, or...?"

Covax took up his glass of bourbon as soon as it was set before him. Carefully ease dropping on the conversations around him as he took a quiet sip of the liquor. It was as smooth as he expected. The rich and powerful knew their whiskey, especially the ISC president it seemed.

Covax would make a mental note to look into the stuff coming out of Gamorr. The towering human thought he might even jump in on the conversation of whiskeys, however the a blue gold shimmer from the corner of his eye caught his attention. He turned to see what it was, and was a little dumb struck. "Doc?" He said, more to himself. Both surprised and confused. As she was perhaps the second to last person he would expect to see here. But then what did he know?

He knew it was her though, the image of her warm amber eyes was burned into his brain. He could recognize them even in this crowd. Not that the rest of her wasn't as equally breath taking in that dress. But those eyes. He thought to himself as his own seeming locked with hers. The crack in her normal icy expression told him as much. However the fleeting moment passed, and he could tell she was looking around for another.

"You're just another number Covax." whispering to himself before taking another drink, this time finishing the glass this time. Then waving the empty glass to the bartender. "I'll have another." he asked. Suddenly wanted to be anywhere but in this room.

When the senator put on an automated smile, he assumed the worst. ( @Tess For whatever reason, well dressed women with positions in power didn't seem to like him. His fears were dashed to pieces at her words though, causing him to silently breathe a sigh of relief. The first person he'd talked to besides the cab pilot and his nephew, and she wasn't terrible. "Quite a nice start, just don't spittle all over her." He warned himself, visibly gulping before he stood up as straight as he could, neck still twitching every few seconds.

He brushed off her offer of an introduction with a quick laugh and a cheeky grin.
"I t-trust it was an accident; such is the only situation where I would rec-c-ceive such aff-f-fections." He joked, the eloquent words describing a rather crude jab at himself. His right hand came up to take hers, and he shook it with a surprising level of strength, though not enough to appear forceful. "I should ap-p-pologize, and I would agree with your ass-s-s-sessment... apart from the p-p-p-p...paparazzi. They have no interest in me."

Well... nobody was giving him dirty looks yet, which was good. A few minutes after arrival was usually the point when people started whispering, and a few minutes after that came giggling. He'd been expecting the worst due to his late arrival and due to how obscenely powerful most of the people there were, but the force had decided to take pity on him. "I could use a reprieve after the spat with Andy a few weeks back." He thought, head twitching a bit to the left.

Referring back to the young woman, he nodded, even as his neck twitched a bit to the right.
"I am C-c-Claudias, Tannaras, Pterygas, at Cormondas... thi-this, that, and the other. I am amb-b-bassador of Brentaal." He said, nodding as he heard the woman's own name and position. "I h-haven't had the p-pleasure of t-t-traveling to y-y-y-your system since I received this position. I shall h-have to put it on my schedule... forgive me if that t-takes to long. My assembly has me meeting with all sorts of p-people these days, and over the most m-m-minute of d-details."

He turned to see that his nephew was speaking to a blonde woman (@GABA ) he hadn't met before. She seemed to have almost bumped into the senator from Kuat as well, and he couldn't help but find amusement in the chaos. Here were these titans, these corporate CEO's, politicians and rulers... and they were all bumping into each other like fools. For once, he wasn't the only one bumbling around. In a setting marked by it's exclusivity to the wealthy elite, they had all been made equal... at least in being spatially unaware.

"This is my n-nephew, Tristodd B-B...Brr... Brentioch. Tristodd Brentioch. Aide to the illustrious s-senator of my h-homeworld, Sibyl Llll---ll---Lassiter." He struggled to introduce the still flustered young man to the two women. Frustrated that he hadn't even been able to get his last name out, he'd clenched his jaw so hard that it actually started to hurt. That, on top of his earlier lip incident, caused him to begin doing lip exercises for a few seconds. It was... odd, but it was obvious through the twitching and stuttering that this was an odd man standing before them.

Sibyl was furious with what Tristodd did. The young man embarrassed her in front of the Senator of Belasco and of President Thorne, one of the most powerful people in the Galaxy. If she'd known this was going to happen, she wouldn't have invited him to the opera. The Brentaalan woman would rather find his corpse when she got back from the event than have to go through this embarrassment. At least now the idiot was Claudias’ problem. Sibyl would tell what happened today to Tristodd’s parents and, knowing how Caledan was, the boy would be punished for embarassing House Brentioch in front of the leader of the ISC.

I’m really sorry.” the Senator said to Korre and President Thorne, in an attempt to save the situation “I don't know what happened to him. Tristodd was never this way, he started acting strangely since the assembly.” then she adressed Emryc directly " I really hope that what he said didn't offend you, President Thorne."

She heard the Senator of Belasco ask the President about a museum. Wanting to forget what happened, Sibyl decided to join the conversation “Senator Belasi, are you interested in history? I particularly like Art history, so much that I have some rare and historical paintings and sculptures in my house in Brentaal. Including some made by Janyor of Bith.” then the Senator continued to describe the historical context behind the works of art that she possessed.

Meanwhile, Tristodd was looking at the flaxen-haired woman before him. Since he discovered his crush, the young man started to see the people around him with other eyes. He started to notice that the men were far more attractive than women. However, Tristodd needed to agree that the woman, who identified herself as Anat Asteria, was very beautiful. He was also certain that she saw him use the Force “M-My name is Tristodd Brentioch.” he said, still a bit nervous. Then the man picked her hand and gave it a hand-kiss, the proper way of a Brentaalan nobleman to greet a lady. At least now you remember the etiquette, useless.I-It’s a p-pleasure to meet you Ms. Asteria. I-I’m sorry if I d-disturbed you, but one of my exercise balls fell and I needed to get it b-back.

He turned to Senator Redrishi of Kuat, his stutter had diminished “I-I’m, ma’am. Thank you for your concern. A-As my uncle said, I was a bit overwhelmed with meeting the President of the ISC in person.” Indeed, everything in Emryc Thorne overwhelmed Tristodd. His muscles, his cute pointed ears, his eyes, even the smell of his cologne. It was deliciously intoxicating. The aide could have discovered his attraction to other men, but so far he hadn't seen one that could be compared to the President.

Uncle Claudias! I’m happy that you came to the opera” Tristodd hugged his favourite uncle “I’ll tell you what happened another time. Thank you for being here for me.” he whispered to Claudias during the hug. By now his stutter disappeared.

While Claudias was speaking to Senator Redrishi, the young man turned to Anat with one of his best smiles “Ms. Asteria, I’m really sorry for disturbing you. As an apology, I would like to invite you for a drink. I will pay for any that you want.” Tristodd pointed to some tables nearby, where opera patrons were asking droid waiters to bring them drinks. He knew that Anat saw him using the Force, after all she was going to pick the ball when it flew to his hand. If she accepted to go with him, Tristodd would beg her not to say anything she saw to anyone. The Brentaalan man chose the tables because they were away from the bar, thus away of Emryc’s overwhelming presence.

The older man's demeanor and humility shifted Eumi's smile from one of obligation to one of a more authentic nature. He reminded her of her mother's Telbun, a sweet man who always treated those he spoke with as if they were the most important person in the world. She loved that about him, and she loved seeing that trait in others. When he finally managed to explain who he was to her, her dark brows would rise in interest. “There's nothing to apologize for Claudias... oh my. You're the Ambassador of Brentaal? And the paparazzi has no interest in you? However could that be? I would assume that, after the Senator, you would be their next biggest target.”

As it turned out, the stuttering didn't seem to bother her at all, the young woman waiting patiently each time the Ambassador raised his voice to speak and seeming genuinely interested in what he was saying. Her gloved hands soon moved to rest in front of her as they spoke, clasping her clutch gently as Vilkinar stepped away without interrupting them to procure them all something to drink. “I would be more than happy to welcome you to my planet for a visit, Ambassador. I have to admit I've never been to your system either. Not personally, anyway. I believe you might've given me a good excuse to remedy that oversight.”

At his comments about schedules and assemblies, Eumi would give a light sigh. “They do enjoy keeping us busy, do they not? If anyone ever alleges that we do little more than sit and talk, we should let them see our datebooks, don't you agree?” She mused lightheartedly, letting out a soft little laugh that almost seemed akin to a young girl's giggle. It was short-lived though, as Vilkinar soon returned with three glasses of sweet dessert wine and offered one to each of them.

Eumi lifted hers with her left hand and took a sip, savoring the flavor before turning to smile and nod at the young man being introduced to her. “I saw you on the floor earlier with the Senator. A pleasure, young man. I'm certain you're going places.”

The 'lip exercises' the Ambassador soon engaged himself in were certainly new, she had to admit. She'd never seen someone move their mouth the manner the Ambassador seemed to be and she, not having the same verbal difficulties nor any knowledge of how they were treated, found herself a bit confused as to how to respond to them. She may have pursed her lips for a moment or two reflexively before settling them back into place again as she watched the young man move to hug his uncle.

It was heartwarming.

“If I were the paparazzi, I believe this would be the picture I'd like to take. Though then again, considering it would likely not interest many people because it isn't loaded with sensational drama... well, perhaps that's why I'm not a paparazzi.”

Tiamat watched curiously at the young man struggled with his nerves, introducing himself as Tristodd and his explanation as to why he had bothered her with his toy. Another Senator started speaking next to her and the blonde woman glanced to him as he added more information about the young man. She learned they were related, his nephew, and from the man's homeworld. Tiamat glanced from him to Tristodd, and then to Senator Lassiter who remained at the bar with others.

"Its a pleasure," she gave a gentle bow of her head acknowledging them both. The one senator turned his attention back to the pink-haired woman and she was drawn back to Tristodd as he offered her a drink. Normally, Tiamat had her rules about strange men offering her drinks, but she was curious as to what she saw earlier, wondering if there were other hints to the young man's secret.

"Sure, I should have one before the show starts." she said, letting him lead her to one of the tables were other senators were being served their drinks. As they walked, Tiamat continued with conversation, "Are you excited to see the Opera tonight?" she asked him.
