The skies of Alsakan glowed dimly orange as the district’s businesses prepared for the busy nightlife to commence. Ocelot had never been one for big cities, especially not ones that covered the surface of a planet. A grunt down the end of the alleyway signalled the departure of a disgruntled looking spice dealer. Obviously he didn't much like the look of Ocelot or his very millitary-looking combat armor, despite the lieutenant’s best efforts to not draw attention to himself.

Illegal or not, he wasn't here for small-fry. A group of sith sympathisers, cultists even, were active in this area according to Republic intel. Ocelot had decided that his usual eye enhancement was unneeded on this occasion and had opted for the usual eyepatch. This being one of the more shady districts would only mean he would've attracted more unneeded attention to himself anyway. This was a solo mission, usually more suited to agents than a commando like him. But a possible sith thread on a core world was serious business. Exiting the alleyway, Ocelot took a right turn down the busying walkway overlooking the planet's cityscape. He was near his destination.

Giana had come to Alsakan today, to just get away from her usual boring, stressful life. A few kids attacked her the day before, so the young Kiffar had knife marks all over. There were marks on her face and all over the rest of her arms, legs and back. So with a heavy heart, she decided to get on the move once more and spend another few weeks by herself. She just wished that she had her friend by her side instead of being alone. Her most best and only friend she really had was more considered a sister to her and without her, she felt very lonely.

Being lost in so much thought made her not even realize where she was going. Right now, she just needed a good cup of coffee and a sweet pastry of some sorts. She was unable to find a cafe so far though. But she did find a human being who she seemed to run right into. Looking up surprised, she saw an older man in front of her.

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't mean it.. please forgive me!"

she said, not really wanting to pick another fight at the moment. She was still hurting from her last one and knew a few scars would probably open up if she got involved with a fight.

The trashy looking building up ahead of Ocelot seemed to fit the description of his target. A once polished metallic exterior had been worn down over the years, the two floors of windows either smashed or hanging off their hinges. The building descended downwards below the suspended walkway for at least another ten stories, a blot on the otherwise scenic landscape. Ocelot picked up his pace a little. A contract killer was something that he wasn't, but it was likely these insurgents wouldn't go down without a fight. Fifty metres away from the door, Ocelot- A young woman, a girl even, had run straight into him. She was apologising to him profusely, wounds on her arms showing she'd been in another fight recently.

Ocelot sighed with an annoyed tone. "It's fine. Republic business. Move along."

Giana wasn't exactly sure of what just happened except for the fact that she ran into someone and apologized. That was the part that got her. She apologized. That was the rarest sound to ever come from her. Giana never apologized to anyone, so why now? Anyway, all she heard him say was Republic business and it definitely caught her attention.

"Republic? Now that's a word I've not heard in a while. It's all mainly been Sith this and Sith that. Ya know?"

She said in response. Giana then studied him for a few seconds while she waited to see if the man would respond to her. It had been a while since she had actually truly been around people without being on a mission of any sorts, except for the kids who beat her up. She was still forming revenge on that one. It was really awkward, to be honest. Though she still had her sabers and blasters with her.

Ocelot frowned. He had a mission to be getting on with and this girl didn't seem to know what "move along" meant. "Yes. This is a core world after all." The soldier didn't feel as though this was an occasion to be talking to civilians. Continuing towards the apartment block, Ocelot briefly listened to someone on his comlink before replying back. "Of course. I'm nearing the target destination." Pausing, Ocelot looked back at the girl with a change in demeanor. "Say... you haven't actually seen any Sith recently?" He asked, not many people around here were keen to talk about such a threatening group. Ocelot put one hand nearer to the rifle on his hip, just in case...

Giana sensed a little bit of his irritation, but it seemed to change rather quick after a little bit. She knew what "move along" meant, just at times, she felt it didn't apply to her. Basically an attitude her best friend gave her. The two of them together could create more damage than one of those disrupters. She heard him saying that this was one of the core worlds. She knew that, but it wasn't the first thing she thought of. She was about to turn and move on when he spoke to her, stopping her before she started moving.

"Yes actually. I myself have been attacked by them numerous times. Coming past that building gave me the creeps. All I sensed in there was cold and darkness. I know for sure I saw two back there when I went past."

she responded. When she mentioned the building, she pointed towards the one he was targeting. Giana saw as his hand went towards his gun. Calmly, she put her hands on her hips, which pulled her jacket back to reveal two lightsabers on her belt. Hopefully showing him those, didn't make him think she was a Sith. It was true though, a bulk of her scars came from being captured by them multiple times and a few other fights she found herself in between different kids.

This girl seemed very sure of herself. Ocelot had seen this kind of attitude in most younger people at some point, including himself. But if she'd survived one attack from the Sith, let alone several, then she could prove useful. As Ocelot's hand rested on his weapon, he noticed she was carrying two lightsabers. She obviously wasn't on good terms with any of the Sith brotherhood if what she said was true, but she didn't look like a Jedi either. Unaligned force users were more and more common in these times and increasingly dangerous. He would have to keep his guard up.

Frowning again slightly, Ocelot grumbled "Sith this deep in Republic space. Unusual. I doubt they're fully-fledged force users, probably members of the Sacred Band." Even if they were just cultists from the Sacred Band, he knew these were not people to take lightly. The girl definitely seemed to think there was something off about the place, despite it being quite similar to others in the area. Carrying on towards the dilapidated building, Ocelot beckoned at the girl. "You can follow me if you want to, but it's not my fault if things go south in there."

Giana couldn't have been more sure of herself. She had survived how many attacks from the Sith not to mention all the times getting in trouble and captured by them. Giana wished she was a Jedi, but she knew they wouldn't accept her. She was definitely no Jedi.. especially with how she acted. Either way, she paved her own path and hated the Sith no matter what she did. Giana had run into a few bounty hunters who had tricked her for someone else, so seeing this man reminded her of some of the hunters she'd run into. She'd just have to be careful and ready if this man was not who he was portraying himself to be.

Giana listened to what he was saying and thought for a second.. "Sacred band? That sounds familiar.. Hope no one recognizes me when we go in there.." she thought to herself. Most of the Sith she dealt with were from Sacred Band, but others were other branches.

"If things do go South, don't think too much about it. I can help."

she responded. Giana would then cover her lightsabers again and follow him.

"I'm Giana by the way.."

she said, trying to make things a little different between them.

Ocelot nodded at Giana. "Ocelot. Be ready for a fight." He spoke more sternly now, ducking into the alleyway next to the hideout. The sun had set by now, providing good cover for a raid. Speaking quietly and briefly into his comlink, Ocelot unclipped the rifle from his hip and took out a plasma cutter. "Intel says there's a back entrance. Civilians aren't allowed on operations, but this whole thing never happened in the eyes of the public." Circling around the tower block, the aging lieutenant approached the door. Nodding to Giana with a grunt, he slowly cut the door open.

The noise of the cutter was audible inside the room, made obvious by the five Sith inside staring at the door. The room was a mess, weapons laid out in pieces on tables against the opposite wall, a few chairs and cabinets hasily tipped over to form barricades. Ocelot stepped inside the doorway levelled his rifle at the first one before he could draw his own blaster, firing two shots into his chest. Ducking back out and covering behind the outside wall, he looked over at Giana, shouting over the shots being fired at them from inside. "There's five of them! Blasters! If you can fight, now would be a good time!" Briefly stepping into the entryway and firing more shots into the room, another of the combatants went down.

Heading towards the building, Giana's usual self seemed to kick in and she felt the adrenaline rising as her usual attitude kicked in. This was probably going to be the mission shed asked for in a long time. Hearing him telling her to be ready for a fight, fueled her even more. She heard his name and a long smirk came across her face. Looking up at him, Giana gave a short nod of her head and continued towards the building.

Once they got to the door and Ocelot pulled out his rifle, Giana unholstered her WESTAR-35s and got them ready for whatever would happen inside. As he started cutting with the plasma cutter, it seemed as if Giana's heart had come up to her throat as she held her breath. When the door fell, Giana looked inside to see a messy building with parts of artillery everywhere. Then her eyes came to five dark siders. One presence of which seemed familiar and he was staring at her. He was the one on the very end on the left and when Giana made eye contact, the fighting started. Using the wall as her shield, she ducked in every few seconds, firing off a few shots. Then she growled to herself asking what she was doing when she was the force wielder. Turning and walking inside, she avoided the blaster bolts and pulled the sabers from her belt, igniting the white blades and turning them into the reverse style.

Rhythmically, Giana started blocking blaster bolts and hit two more of the Sith, taking them down. At this point, the other Sith jumped out from behind the barricade and in one motion, pulled out a red blade, attacking the young girl.

"Going somewhere, little Gi? You can't escape me this time. Your parents were just the start. Now you're the end, you little Jedi."

he taunted. Giana glared at him, pushing back on his lightsaber.

"Im no Jedi.."

she said in response. With that, there were multiple attacks between the two. It had gotten so fast, that he had sliced, catching the middle of her bicep and left a scratch across her cheek. With that, she force pushed him backwards and laid some strikes upon him that battered his defenses to the point where she made two death enabling blows that killed him then and there. She then deactivated her sabers, placing them on her belt and her fingers wet across the new scar on her face and shoulder. She then walked out like nothing happened and she looked to Ocelot, giving a small smirk.

"Sorry for taking the show in there. If I hadn't you'd probably still be fighting."

she said. She knew that the Sith had been involved with the killing of her parents and she had gotten her revenge on him for it.

Ocelot peered into the room with a surprised expression on his face. The girl, Giana, could obviously fight. The remaining three enemies lay dead on the floor, a demonstration of how deadly a force wielder could be. "Nice job, kid." He said as Giana left the building. She had indeed shown skill, but an unaligned force wielder was, in Ocelot's eyes, one of the most dangerous kinds. Scanning the room, it looked like the man with the lightsaber was a full-blown Sith, but the others were thugs from the Sacred Band. What on Alderaan were they doing here?

Reporting back to his XO, Ocelot kept the girl's part in the affair a secret. Picking up the Site's saber, he tucked it into his belt and left the building. Giana was waiting outside. "You know, you'd be much more useful as a Jedi than whatever you're doing now. The Republic doesn't look kindly on unaligned force sensitives running around."

When Giana had turned around to look at Ocelot, she was surprised to see the look of surprise on his face. She was a force wielder and had proper training, she just never really used her skills except for a good mind trick or when she was assigned on a mission. Giana knew the Sith inside. Yes, she knew him for being part of the death of her parents, but he'd also captured her a few times and scarred her up real well. Hearing Ocelot's compliment, Giana gave a nod.

"Thanks.. I've been wanting to put an end to him for a while. These two new scars are just a new addition to what he did to me before."

she replied. Once she was outside the building she could hear Ocelot talking about the mission. Giana leaned against the wall with her arms crossed and her right foot on the wall. Once Ocelot came out, she pulled herself from the wall and listened to what he was saying.

"The Jedi won't have me.. I have no choice. I would be with the Jedi, they just decided they don't want me around. Then if I were to join the Sith, I'd be killed in a day with the amount of them who know about my bounty."

Giana responded with a small sigh. She wanted to be a Jedi, they just didn't like who she was.

"I whole-heartedly recommend that you never go to the Sith for help, though by the looks of the men in there you wouldn't anyway." Ocelot thought about what he could do with this girl. She obviously couldn't carry on like this, it was his duty as a soldier to make sure of it. Hmm. His past with the mercenary corps meant he knew of a few groups for her to go to. "Giana, have you heard of the Accord? They've allied themselves with the Republic recently and I'm sure they accept force users." It was true, the Accord could always use more fighters. They'd be doing good work from what he'd heard. Passing her a card with a series of coordinates printed on it, Ocelot spoke again. "Everything you've seen and heard here today never happened, you understand? But keep those people in mind. They can help you and the outer rim always needs cleaning up."

"Well, of course. I'd never be able to bring myself to do such thing. Like I said, I wouldn't live for even a day if they saw me."

She responded. Giana then heard him ask if she had heard of the Accord. She thought for a second. It sounded familiar, but she realized what he was doing. He was suggesting groups for her to join. She flew solo, but the Accord seemed to be legit. Giana loved fighting on her own, but sometimes it got lonely and it wouldn't be bad to join something and finally have a life rather than jumping from planet to planet.

"I believe I have.. didn't the Fireflies just join them recently??"

she asked. She knew her best friend, Leira was apart of that, she just didn't know much. When he handed her a card, she realized that it had the coordinates on it to the Accord. She also heard what he had said and nodded, giving the smallest of smiles. A smile in which she hadn't done in a long time.

"I understand. Plus I will. I think I'll be heading that way next. Uh.. before I leave though.. would you care for a quick drink? I'll pay.."

she suggested. Giana didn't know if she'd see this man again. She knew he was older, but he seemed to be a familiar sort of figure.. One she hadn't known for a very long time.

"A drink? I, uh, I've got to report back." Ocelot was startled by such a request. He enjoyed a trip to a bar, but only usually in the company of his own thoughts. He looked at the girl. She didn't seem to be showing any ill intent towards him. Ocelot's mood changed to a less stern one as he spoke. "Hmm. I suppose one drink wouldn't hurt. Let's not find somewhere in this neighbourhood though, there are much better establishments elsewhere." The aging man relaxed a little, beckoning for Giana to follow him. After a short walk to a transport stop, they boarded a shuttle headed for a few districts away.

The buildings climbed higher as the craft approached the more up market area of the planet. The shuttle slowed to a stop and the pair exited onto the busy streets of the financial district. Despite the name, this area was less for business and more for the enjoyment of businessmen with too many credits on their hands. Ocelot had been here a few times, although he had been alone. Neon lights illuminated the busy crowd of beings walking down the wide, expensive looking rows of shops and restaurants. Grinning at Giana, he spoke. "Pick somewhere. If we're going for a drink we may as well drink at the best."

When Giana was met by Ocelot's surprised response, saying that he had to get back, she gave a sad smile and started to turn to walk away. He then surprised her though when he spoke up, saying that he wouldn't mind something to drink. She looked over her shoulder, stopping with a smile on her face. She had only taken three steps before he stopped her. She then walked back over to him as he motioned for her to follow him. After they boarded a shuttle, she watched out the window as they were transported to the other side of town.

Once they arrived, it was noticeable to see that this part of the planet had a better market and was much nicer than where they had left. She could tell already that the people on this side of town were a little more well mannered than the other side. Her eyes widened a little in surprise to be able to finally see a better side of the planets. It had been a while since she'd seen a place as fancy as this. When Ocelot told her to pick a place, she nodded with a smile and looked around, until she found a nice place that seemed a little fancy, but she recognized it. She remembered going there years ago the last time she ran off to a planet.

"There.. if I remember correctly, it's a really nice place with cheap prices and good quality."

she responded, pointing to the building.

"Well, price isn't really an issue, but this place looks nice enough." Ocelot said to the girl, examining the building she was pointing at. "I don't have too long, I need to at least be at the Republic outpost in this district in a few hours." The place did indeed look nice enough, an interior of mostly polished chrome being an interesting design choice. Walking in, he picked out a stool at the bar with the girl. The smell of booze and the odd notion of food wafted around the place, a drastic change from the musky air outside. Sentients from all over the galaxy either sat at tables or the bar, making idle conversation with one another and a fair amount of noise. The bartender, a tall Togruta woman, circled around behind the bar to serve the pair. "A tall glass of Narkoma, please." Ocelot turned to Giana. "And for you, Giana?"

"I understand.. we can make it quick if need be.."

she responded. Giana followed him into the bar and sat down on the bar stool next to him. She had eaten her at least once before when she was younger, but she hadn't been back in quite the long time. The place at least smelled better than it did outside and it made a huge difference from all the musty fumes. After sitting down, she looked up to see a Togruta woman come around the bar to serve them. She what Ocelot ordered and gave a slight nod before responding.

"May I have a Corellian Beer please?"

Ocelot and Giana engaged in friendly chatter for a while as the night drew on, various sentients coming and going from the busy establishment. Ocelot had mentioned that he'd only been in the military for a few years but tended to keep his past less talked about. A drink or two later a realisation struck him, he didn't actually know why she was on Alsakan. "So, what actually brought you to this place." He gestured towards the front of the bar. "This planet, I mean."
