This is the sign up thread for the upcoming November Galactic Senate. Events relevant here include those mentioned in the October newsletter and those occurring after. The senate session will be taking place on Onderon.

As per usual, the Galactic Senate consists of Free Worlds, New Republic, and ISC representatives/senators/governors (and a small group of Jedi, if they attend). The Galactic Senate roster seats 100 representatives: 30 from the NR, 30 from the FWA, 30 from the ISC, and 10 from the JO. Anyone with a political character is welcome to submit agenda ideas and participate in the upcoming Senate thread.

NOTE: The Galactic Senate functions similarly to that of the real life United Nations and does not have the executive power of the American Congress or British Parliament, for example. Keep this in mind when submitting items.

If this is an agenda item solely focus on combating Sith, it's not relevant to ISC. We need agenda items that cover all governing bodies. Can you add more of a description?

More like this rather than a Sith specific thing. Member worlds or bodies would voluntarily contribute resources and such. The UDF (or some other better name) could then be used to provide humanitarian aid to worlds effected by the AMS virus, civil unrest, crime, etc etc assuming it was requested or approved by the Galactic Senate.

I considered the Outreach Act as a funding proposal where the UDF would be the actual boots on the ground. We can totally combine them or treat them as similar.

Agenda Item: Galactic Senate cannot pass sweeping trade sanctions or military/foreign policies to be enforced universally across all bodies of government. Only individual governing bodies may decide if sanctions and policies are implemented and executed within their borders. Any sanction proposals will be tossed out before they can be brought to the galactic senate pursuant to this clause.

Hey! As this thread, which will definitely change Mon Cala's opinion on the bill, is still in-progress, could we withdraw Mon Cala's Anti-Syndicate legislation? If anyone else wants to run with it, they're welcome to, but just don't think it will continue to make sense to have it on there as-is! :)

(also just don't want to have two people in Senate at the same time lol)

Made a brand new Senator who's primarily focused on his homeworld, Ord Mantell. I think he'd be very interested in the United Defense Force not to fight off the Sith but to fend against Black Sun and the 5S. He's not currently worried about the Sith so he could argue that the idea of a GAR related militia could be totally beneficial for a planet like Ord Mantell that suffers from mainly crime and poverty- not just some Sith "tyranny" but just tyrannical insurrection/terrorism/organized crime in general. Phineas has no current quarrel with the Sith.

If that's his agenda then def have him say something when the item gets brought up in the Senate!

Agenda Item: Questioning the presence of the Jedi Order in the Galactic Senate in the light of growing anti-Force protests across the Galaxy and specifically in the Core, establishing rules regarding the of separation of religion and state, and establishing grounds for the expulsion of the Jedi.
