As per the usual for our observations thread, anything and everything that's going on and worth our discussion.

Woah, I haven't tried to murder anyone in like 48 hours.

Observation#1, looks like everyone wants to know if the Shadow are going to be a thing again.

As far as I'm concerned, no, they are not.

But this might be interesting conversation ( that we'll discuss IC at our Council meeting ) ... we need to be a bit more offensive.

Set up operations with the Sith. Figure out ways that we can get some activity by setting up conflicts with them on worlds they control and then disappearing at the end of the battle, won or lost. Shadow-y, but for everyone. And not sketchy, like Von, but real good old stories of conflict.

We have to get back onto the galactic scene a bit. The galaxy is moving, and it is moving without the Jedi.

Also, we will be having serious conversations about what it means to be a Jedi, what it means to be a master. Larik is pretty old school, and he will expect the best out of the Masters. Again, i think it'll be a good IC conversation for our Council thread.

I've literally done my best to avoid answering that question, but it's a good thing I was already implying "No."

In all seriousness, with how Von ICly would view the Order's role, restarting the Shadow wouldn't be a thing for her. Plus I'm not sure she'd trust anyone these days enough for it to be effective. More a "the burden is mine to bear" rather than "you're going to betray us".

yyyeaaaahhhhhhh Von really needs rehumanizing ;)

Also, I am equally anti-Shadow. I think Ruthie had it right when she said it's kinda an across-the-board thing right now for all Jedi to be sneaky.

The main things we need to address IMO are:

1. Getting ourselves back on our own two feet: this means ships, backing, training, Von not being a psycho
2. Wot iz Jedii: We should do this in the council meeting, figure out what it means for each of our characters to be a Jedi, and then actually do something about it IC
3. Put ourselves out der: we needz to be doing stuff, as we sayz. I had some stuff going with Weiss a while back that I could re-enquire about. Von and Orlaan could tag team up to do some heavy hitting, Larik can sabotage some shit, Murielle can spy and shit, Hal can perform a pan-galactic dance show to wow and distract the sith with all his Powers of Pizzazz.

SO had this discussion with Rom long ago, think it could be useful now as well. I present to you the Great River.

Tl;dr version: "the Great River network was a series of hidden routes and strongholds where Jedi and their allies could meet and take refuge from the persecuting Yuuzhan Vong fleets. Important locales for the River included Shelter, a space station owned by Lando Calrissian in the heart of the Maw, and Eclipse Station, an uncharted planet in the Deep Core that temporarily housed the leading members of the New Jedi Order."

So what I was thinking is we could have Jedi search for new, or old and forgotten, hyperspace routes which would grant us a much improved freedom of movement. Maybe we could trade favours with the remnants of the IK to get them to share some secret Imperial hyperspace routes with us, infiltrate smuggling rings to discover secret smuggling routes.

We could get a number of missions out of just discovering new routes, setting up safe houses along them and setting up supply lines and such. And once that is done we can use said routes to start hitting the Sith, we could move about inside Imperial territory, sneak in rebel troops, if it clicks then we could do a great many things with this.

The deep core and the maw would be excellent choices. We'd be hidden under the radar in the last place expected to search. They'd probably think we'd try and get further away from the Empire, not inside it.

The closer we are to danger the farther we are from it!

I think that sounds like a very intriguing idea.

A balance between expanding but still playing in the shadows, where we are safe.

Bring it up IC during our Council meeting. If you want to work on some ideas and post them in a thread in the private chambers, we can see if there's enough to go off to make it a mission pack or a faction event. It'll create more dialogue about who the jedi are and where we're going - I'm liking it so far.

i dont see why he cant start exploring. This is a multi-day process, lots to consider.

If we're starting our IC Council meeting this weekend, which is my plan, we'll be talking about everything very soon.

The Process of Promotion

Congratulations!​

You have studied, trained and worked hard. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and you have been called in front of the Council to discuss your promotion. If unsure about the prerequisites for promotions, please be sure to read over the training guidelines.

We could maybe have a list of scenarios which would push a Jedi to their limits, how we have the trials IC we have these scenarios OOC. Applicants have to post IC samples for how their character would respond to said scenarios. Alongside their threads we could get a good idea of how ready they are for a promotion.

I'd like to include

And maybe specify that they use completed or at least near-complete threads.

It just kinda irritates me when someone throws a bunch of incompletes at the Leadership and expects it to mean something greater.

As for specific questions...I like this. It requires us to build a bit more of a relationship too with the RPer.

"What flaws does your character have? What mistakes have they made?"

-insert answers-

"And have they fixed (answer)? Have they learned from it?"

I am 100% for tightening up the screws on the promotion process, and I think the above are some ace ways to do it.
