Ranger Mead tensed up slightly as Quin explained that he had heard some of the enemy coming and he quickly reached down to help haul Laeonas upright. If the Jedi needed to lean on someone for the first few steps then he was fine with being the one to lean on but his urgency was apparent to all of the Jedi present.

"Plant monsters, right?" he asked Laeonas, "They're gone, don't worry but other people are coming. Fecking shinies - Stormtroopers. The most dedicated of the dedicated from the beginning of the Empire."

Ushering the group to follow, he would head down the corridor he had dropped down into initially, keeping his blaster at the ready as he led the Jedi deeper into the facility, the floor beneath their feet sloping gradually ever downward. At this point the humans in the party would begin to feel their ears "pop" as the pressure began to mount.

"Spores are bad - they come from large flowers and from corpses so steer clear. Unfortunately some of the corpses aren't all dead and we'll need to put them down with a stunner or two." he warned Quin and Elidan specifically, "The doc says that both the troopers and the plants are from some of Palpatine's experiments with 'Force artefacts' or something. Something to do with old Jedi artefacts promoting life resulting in plants? I skipped ancient Force history in college."

Was always more of a huttball player in college anyway.

Reaching a fork in the tunnels, Mead cursed a little bit before slowing down. To the right the tunnel seemed to become significantly colder and the ever-present plant-life seemed to have avoided growing there. To the left, the tunnel was even more overgrown than was becoming typical for the underground complex.

"Doc said she was focusing on the plants - so that'd be left. But the troopers? From what I've seen from the vents they'd be down on the right. Pick our poison, Jedi... I'm just a cop out of his depth here."

As he was speaking the overgrown plant life rustled once before a barrage of poisoned barbs were sent rocketing in the direct of the group. Mead himself grunted as he was hit by one of the darts, cursing as his vision swam and he felt himself suddenly feeling lethargic.

"Feckin' plants...!"

Ruzaan calmed down a little as Laeo regained consciousness, the older Padawan apparently in his right mind again after his bout with the evil spores. Although the Togruta had heard rumors about Laeo that often painted the man in a less-than-flattering light, seeing the oldest member of their group recovering helped put Ruzaan at ease.

The news from Ranger Mead was a mixed bag, and Ruzaan did his best to sort through the information without getting distracted by Quin's claim that they were being followed. Ruzaan hated feeling like he was being hunted, especially when he was in confined spaces like this one. To make matters worse, there were things called 'Feckin plants' that were out to get them, too.

As he considered the option of whether to go left or right, the Togruta kept his senses sharp for threats and was immediately glad that he did when a sudden barrage of poison darts raced through the air towards the group. Ruzaan sidestepped out of the barbs' path, his montrals subconsciously calculating the projectiles' trajectories. "I see them!" he exclaimed, "There's four of the Feckin plants!"

If these Feckin plants were like the others they'd encountered, they would be fragile; so Ruzaan reached out with the Force to try and pull the launching appendage of the plants apart- One! Two! Three! Four! - but before he could discern his success, his brain processed other important information. "I hear machinery down the right path, like the freezer units back at the temple, but less consistent and more... tired." He wasn't exactly certain how to describe the labored sounds of refrigerating units far down the right path; maybe Elidan, with his sharp hearing from his Annfyn side, might be able to help. "Also, I think only three Stormtroopers are following us, they must've split up."

Being more of a follower than a leader, Ruzaan would keep his lightsaber handy while preparing himself to go down whichever path the group decided. Ranger Mead looked to be in pain; maybe the "Doc" could help with that?

Laeonas seemed to be back with them, and Quin was more than glad to see it. Wherever they were going, they would need him. At Mead’s answer to the older Padawan’s question, Quin went through a moment of disbelief.

“Stormtroopers? But the Empire was… so long ago!” Quin frowned. With the massive influence of the Empire in the past, he wouldn’t have been surprised to find some remnants of it here and there in the form of ships, weapons, or observatories like this one. But stormtroopers? Then he recalled the dead man they’d seen with the spores growing out of him clad in the armor. Yep, Ranger Mead had to be telling the truth.

He made to follow the others down the tunnels, hoping that whoever was following them(or just passing by, hopefully) was gone. But that was the least of his worries at the moment, with a flurry of barbs raining down on the group and one even hitting Ranger Mead.

“What the-” Caught by surprise, he was barely able to dodge out of the way, narrowly missing one that cut through the fabric of his upper right sleeve. Fortunately, it hadn’t touched his skin, but now he was hearing a weird humming sound in the back of his head. Was he imagining it? With Ruzaan’s observations, probably not.

“That might be what I’m hearing. There’s some kind of humming.” At the other Padawan’s remark about three stormtroopers following them, Quin figured that it was better than six. At least they weren’t outnumbered?

Either way, they would have to keep moving. Far too rattled to make any decision as to where they were going to go, Quin settled with letting the others decide as he moved to help Ranger Mead up.

Laeonas let out a groan as he was hauled to his feet, giving the newcomer that was helping him a look of confusion. As if on cue, he immediately answered the man's second question. There was a hint of an accent not to dissimilar from his own, and the Brentaalan would regard this apparent comrade as he further explained the situation. Ofcourse, the man didn't understand anything he was saying-- and even if he were struggling to form a coherent thought, he still might struggle.

As the man started talking, Laeonas would pull away from the ranger, taking a few steps forward and trying to balance himself. He chewed his lip, dug his nails into his palms, smacked his cheeks-- everything he knew that'd help get him going again. When he was done hopping and pinching and stretching, the man would finally feel somewhat steady again, although his lungs still burned slightly. He ran through all the man had said now that he was coherent, and replied, "So you're telling me some soldiers... who should've died a hundred years ago... are still running around missing every shot?"

But above that fantastical claim was the mention of a Jedi artefact-- and the notion that it was responsible for this. "If there's an artifact run amok, we need to take it back with us and put it under lock and key." He declared. Their mission had been to find out what had caused this, but if what the ranger had said was true, their priorities had just shifted. Allowing a Jedi artefact that had apparently been manipulated by the former emperor to unbalance the natural environment simply wasn't possible.

As the ranger further explained the situation and the fork in the path before them, Laeonas would consider both the challenges that were before him. Fighting reanimated stormtroopers sounded quite unpleasant, but so did fighting writhing, hostile plant. Before he could ponder his chances however, the group would be accosted by another attack by the plants-- this time existing outside the man's own head. The man would immediately tuck and roll, avoiding most with ease-- but one barb would fly just centimeters from burrowing itself in his shoulder.

"Find cover!" He exclaimed, resting his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Elidan was relieved that Laeonas had woken up and wasn’t delirious anymore. This meant that Ranger Mead was right, someone affected by the spores could really recover if they were stunned by a blaster. It was something useful to know if any of them ended up contaminated by the plants too.

While they prepared to flee to somewhere safe after Quin’s warning, Mead said that what was coming were Stormtroopers of the Empire. This confused the half-Annfyn. How could they still be alive? It had been centuries since the Empire and the First Order were defeated. No one else had seen Stormtroopers since then. Maybe the Ranger was confusing them with soldiers of the Sith Empire.

With Laeonas now being able to walk, the group started to move down a corridor that went deep inside the facility. Mead was guiding the Padawans and Elidan was carefully watching his movements. The man could have helped them so far, but they should be careful with him. What if he was guiding the group to a trap? He was still a stranger after all.

At some point, Elidan felt his ears pop. If the pressure was really strong to make it, then this could only mean that they were really deep underground. This made him even more uneasy with the possibility of what they were going to find down there.

While they walked, the Ranger answered their questions. The auburn-haired boy was interested by the possibility of the abnormal growth of these plants having been caused by some type of Jedi artifact. If they could stop it and then bring it to the Temple, the Masters could be able to see how it could work properly. Such an object would be useful to terraform planets that were devoid of vegetation, this way giving a better life to the people that live there.

Then they arrived at a fork in the tunnels. Elidan stared at the one that was devoid of plants. While it was tempting to go there, if no vegetation grew there this meant that the source of this green chaos wasn’t coming from there. If they wanted to stop what was happening in this place, they should go to the one that was full of green.

Before anyone could decide where they should go, Elidan heard something moving. He turned in time to see some very suspicious plants releasing something. Without much time to think, the half-Annfyn used the Force to increase his agility in time to avoid the barbs that were sent toward him.

Once he was safe, Elidan turned to see Ruzaan using the Force to rip the plants apart. Suddenly, the Togruta started to say that he had heard some type of machinery that reminded him from the freezer unit of the Temple coming from the corridor without life. Quin also confirmed the same thing.

This gave the auburn-haired boy an idea, one that perhaps could even help the group deal with the Stormtroopers that were following them.

While the others went to see how Mead was after he was hit by the barbs, Elidan would project his thoughts to Ruzaan. "If what you heard is really a freezer, maybe we can find a way to make it get the entire complex cold. It could deal with the plants, and maybe even with the Stormtroopers if they are really some type of botanical zombie. Tell it to the others and say to them that we should go to the cold corridor."

With all but the Ranger evading the babrs, and Ruzaan making quick work of them, the party had a brief moment to think of their next move but it was, indeed, rather brief. Footsteps down the corridor the way they had come before could be heard by everyone at this point. Seemingly coming to a decision as his legs wobbled underneath him and the areas around the points of impact of the barbs, Ranger Mead placed a hand on Quin's shoulder and gently pushed the Jedi off of him with a bitter grin.

"Alright sounds like you guys got a plan - promise me you'll go back for the doc in the plant section when you've gotten the freezer working, alright?"

He drew his blaster pistol.

"Get going - I'll keep them busy."

There was a grim determination that surrounded the Ranger as he staggered back the way they had come. He would push his way past any of the Jedi who tried to stop him with a grunt before picking up the pace and jogging back up the corridor. In the distance the Jedi would hear the distinctive scratchy audio of a Stormtrooper speaking through his helmet.

"Hey there he is - blast him!"

And Mead roaring back.

"For the Republic!"

If the Jedi party followed the corridor without plant-life they would immediately know that they were heading in the direction of the freezer-like machinery. The air around them would become bitingly cold almost immediately and ahead of them, at the end of the corridor was another turning in their path. Worryingly, though, there also seemed to be a thin layer of ice and frost on the ground beneath their feet.

With no other direction aside from back the way they came, the Jedi party would need to press on and turn the corner - to see a blast-door covered in a light film of frost with three Stormtroopers in arctic gear standing guard. Standing guard being a relative term as one of them was in the middle of telling the other two a rather engaging story about a wamp rat, a twi'lek dancer woman and a Naboo starfighter.

"Towards the freezer we go" Ruzaan agreed, once again glad that he'd chosen to wear boots on this mission. Bare feet and freezing temperatures didn't mix. "See you soon" he said to the Ranger, confident in the man's abilities; the one thing he remembered about stormtroopers was that they were so inaccurate that they missed their own birthdays every year.

The plan of action in place, Ruzaan led the way down the corridor, noting that the temperature seemed to drop the further they went down the corridor until he could barely make out the soft crunch of his boots on a thin layer of frost. A quick glance around a corner provided visuals on three distracted stormtroopers engaged in casual conversation.

Ruzaan ducked back around the corner and shared the information with his friends. "Does anyone have a plan?" he asked, hoping that one of the others would be able to come up with something quickly. His own plans tended to be poorly thought out, sp he decided to let others do the thinking and translate for Elidan as needed.

“We will, sir. Good luck,” Quin said, reluctantly stepping aside to let the Ranger move toward the stormtroopers in the corridor behind them. He didn’t feel as optimistic as Ruzaan about how it would go for Mead, but he hoped for the best. Whatever his fate would be, they would have to push on. Both Elidan and Mead seemed to think it was the best idea, and Quin didn’t see any other option.

Soon, Ruzaan came back from the corner, and the news he brought got him thinking. It was a wild idea… but an idea nonetheless.

“We could make some noise here, throw something against the wall. They’d probably come to investigate,” Quin suggested. “If we ambush them from here, it would be four on three. They might even have something to access the door and let us in the freezer if we find a way to knock them out.”

Once the others agreed to go toward the freezer, Elidan moved to help the Ranger. After Mead was hit by the barbs of the plants, he didn’t seem to be in a good shape. If they wanted to walk through the corridor, the man would need their help. The Padawan doubted that he would be able to do that alone.

However, before he could offer his help, the Ranger decided to stay behind to maintain the stormtroopers busy. Elidan was unsure if it would be a good idea, Mead could barely stay on his legs. There were great chances of him being killed. However, the Padawan decided to respect his decision.

When the Ranger asked them to promise that they would go after the doctor, Elidan nodded to show that he agreed with it. The auburn-haired boy would follow the others toward the freezer, looking at Mead one last time. He hoped that the man would survive long enough until they returned to help him.

They moved through the corridor until Ruzaan suddenly stopped. Elidan felt frustrated for the stormtroopers also being here. Looking around, there was no other path that they could use to avoid them. If they wanted to continue with their plan to reach the freezer, they would need to deal with the soldiers.

I agree with Quin, we could use an ambush to knock them out without needing to have a larger fight.” Elidan said to Ruzaan through their telepathic bond. “If we try to attack them directly, they can even call reinforcements. An ambush is really our best option.

The man's distress over the plants turned out to be a bit overblown, as was made evident when Ruzaan immediately destroyed the plant that was shooting at them. Laeonas fear and concern evaporated almost immediately, replaced by a distinct sense that he'd greatly overreacted to the threat. "...uh, nice job." He called, glancing over at the crushed plantlife. Clearly these things were a lot easier to kill in the profane world than in his own drug addled mind.

The ranger made sure to request that they check on his ally when they went down to the freezer. If Laeonas were capable of such feelings, he might have guessed that there was more than comradery that fueled the man's interest, but no such thoughts entered his mind. "Good luck." Was all he said to the man who'd interrupted his madness from earlier. Bright aquamarines would turn to look down the descending hallway that was the only other direction they could head.

As they made their descent, it wasn't long before they came across their first human adversaries, dressed in costumes that came straight out of the history books Ephiny expected him to read. "Well, shit." he muttered. "Out'f all the things I thought I might face when I joined the Jedi, living stormtroopers were probably at the bottom of my list." He confessed. Honestly, he hadn’t the slightest clue how they were even here.

As Quin laid out a plan of ambush, Laeonas would follow along, before frowning. “One of us can distract them while the others encircle them.” He suggested. “Keeping their attention drawn away will make it easier to bring them down without killing them.” The man explained. His internal reasoning was wholly pragmatic, but if less people had to die than they ought not to.

Ruzaan's eyes flashed up to meet Elidan's as they Jedi closed in on a plan to deal with the stormtroopers, a grin spreading across his face. Distractions were the Togruta's specialty, and he knew exactly what needed to happen; even if his idea required two people and not one.

"Elidan" he said, hoping his friend would agree, "let's do 'Get Help!'"

Once they agreed with the plan of making a distraction, the Padawans needed to think in one that would be good enough to make the stormtroopers fall for it. Elidan knew that Ruzaan was good with it. Even if most of time he would get in trouble and end up in the medical bay, his distractions were good enough to confuse their foes.

He wasn’t surprised when it was the Togruta who ended up proposing the strategy for the distraction. "Are you really going to use something that you saw in a movie?" Elidan stared at Ruzaan. This could only be a joke. They had watched a movie some days ago were two characters did it. His friend couldn’t be planning to do the same.

However, he could see by Ruzaan’s expression that he was being deadly serious. "Fine." they had so much together and the Togruta always showed the capability of escaping from problems, even if a bit hurt. Elidan trusted his judge and would help him with this distraction.

The half-Annfyn moved to put his arm around his friend's, as if he was hurt. Then, the two would walk together toward the stormtroopers. Elidan would lean in Ruzaan and limp a bit, everything as an attempt to make the scene more convincing. If it was like the movie that they watched some days ago, Ruzaan should start to scream "Get help" constantly

Quin nodded at Laeonas’ idea of having a distraction first. Their goal was to find out what was causing all this, not needlessly ending lives, and a distraction would give them the best chance of getting past the stormtroopers without killing them.

Ruzaan’s idea for how to go about it, however, was lost on Quin. Ranger Mead was still dealing with the stormtroopers behind them and it didn’t look like they had any reinforcements here to receive any assistance.

“‘Get help?’ I might be missing something… but what does that mean?” The Padawan knit his brows in confusion, and as he saw Elidan slung his arm over Ruzaan’s shoulder and the pair started down the hall right for the guards, the former in a limp, Quin’s eyes widened as he realized what their plan was.

“I hope this works,” he whispered to Laeonas, his hands gripping the hilt of his lightsaber in case something went wrong.

Laeonas quietly waited for the reaction of his comrades. It seemed that the Togruta agreed with his idea; in fact, he seemed enthusiastic about it. When he turned to the knife eared boy-- Elidan-- Laeonas would watch as a grin spread across his face. "Oh, shite." He thought to himself, aquamarines widening. "...alright, do what you want to do, but be careful-- we'll be ready to help." He declared, glancing over at the other human with visible concern on his face.

When Quin asked his question, Laeonas would simply shrug. "Aidunno, but th'at look 'e's got on 'is face 'as got me worried." He declared, not even bothering to enunciate as he whispered. Granted, it might be hard for the other Padawan to understand him, talking in such a thick accent at such low volume, but frankly Laeonas didn't care. If his tensed up body language and visibly concerned expression didn't tell Quin how he felt, than not even the force could give him the context clues he needed.

Laeonas, to, would grip the hilt of his weapon, pulling it out of the sheathe by a few inches. Even if the Padawans succeeded in their distraction, the two of them would probably need help knocking out several storm troopers. Although Laeonas should've had greater qualms about it, he... really didn't find killing the stormtroopers that terrible of a crime. After all, Luke Skywalker killed-- what, a million when he blew up the death star? At worst he'd be ending the lives of less than half a dozen men guarding god knows what while supporting the perversion of natural law.

Ofcourse, he would still try to exhaust every option outside of killing the stormtroopers first. There were plenty of ways he could bring a man down without ending their life. He could force push them into a wall so hard it knocked them out, break their wrists with the force before they could fire a shot, or just dismember them the old fashioned way. Everything was on the table as the two younger padawans approached the door.

Unfortunately for the Jedi Padawans (And Ranger Mead), the Stormtroopers had been diluted over time to be less effective. The troopers that they were facing today were not so diluted as they were from the beginning of the Empire, back when they could afford to be far more discerning when it came to quality. In those days there were even some clones within the ranks who had still be absolutely onboard with the 'Republic' they had served in the Clone Wars.

Worse still for the Jedi, one of the troopers manning the door had actually tested into a different branch of the Imperial military before finding himself within this special project... something called the Purge Trooper Program. So when the Jedi moved round the corner, asking for help, he spotted their lightsabers and immediately knew what to do.

"Die Jedi Scum!"

The purge trooper and one of his allies spun round to face the newcomers, both of them opening fire on fully automatic. Their E-11 blaster rifles made a massive, stream of noise as they opened fire, filling the hallway with five shots each within the space of a second. A combination of their training and equipment saw more than a few of the blaster bolts finding their marks as Elidan and Ruzaan were entwined as part of Get Help.

Four of the bolts screamed forward as Ruzaan would angle his body to place himself in the way of Elidan. The first bolt slammed into his upper chest, burning through the armour plating there but not searing into his body fully. However the force of the bolt broke his defensive stance, spinning him enough that three more of the blasts also hammered home into his torso, one being semi-absorbed by the armour plates before they broke, leaving the last two shots to hit fully. One burned deeply into his gut, breaking the skin open in the typical explosive fashion of a blaster, leaving him with a gushing gut-wound. The second hit him in the left side of the chest and was accompanied by a loud crack - and an accompanying feeling as though he couldn't quite catch his breath.

Elidan came off better in some ways as Ruzaan had moved the two of them to take the brunt of the attack but a stray blaster bolt struck true, catching the Jedi in the hand that was wrapped around Ruzaan's shoulder. His left hand, entirely unarmoured, would suffer massively as the blast hit it nearly dead centre. The hand itself would be blasted and burned badly enough that Elidan would note it hurt a lot less than it likely should have done - as the nerve damage set in. He would be able to see, however, that he was now missing three digits from his left hand; leaving him with only his pinky finger and thumb.

The initial hail of bolts would cease and two of the troopers would stay at the door while the purge trooper grinned and drew an electrostaff as he advanced.

"Gonna enjoy caving in your skulls traitors...!"

Ruzaan tried hard not to giggle as he reminisced the many times he and his fellow tribemates employed "Get Help" to prank others; usually, he was the one being thrown. [I've done it before back on Shili] he reassured Elidan, curious which movie the half-Annfyn was referencing. They would have to watch it together, but at least Elidan knew what the plan was. Moreover, Laeo and Quin didn't seem completely against it, which in Ruzaan's opinion counted as an affirmative. And so, arms over shoulders, the two Padawans rounded the corner and began their performance; things went wrong almost immediately.

Ruzaan didn't even have time to begin the spiel before the stormtroopers opened fire- apparently, they were the kind to shoot first and ask questions later. The Togruta flinched and instinctively moved himself in front of Elidan. As if he was watching himself on a monitor, Ruzaan registered the shots hitting his body.

One; more or less absorbed by the light armor of his chestplate, it still felt uncomfortably hot against his skin. You've been shot, a small part of his brain informed him, helpfully. The surprising impact of the blaster bolt spun him around, leaving him even more vulnerable.

Two; this one also hitting his light armor, and feeling even hotter than the last one. Briefly, Ruzaan wondered why all his missions with Elidan ended up with him getting hurt... no, this hadn't been Elidan's idea. The armor plating gave way under the force of the second bolt, and Ruzaan gasped as the heat bled through and licked his skin.

Three, four; Ruzaan collapsed to the ground, arms clutching at his torso as he curled into a fetal position. He wanted to breathe, he needed to breathe, but each breath seemed to give him less air and more pain than the last. There was also a strange wetness where the third bolt had impacted in his gut area, and it was all Ruzaan could do to stay conscious as his vision swam. He was vaguely aware that he was gasping something in between cries of pain...

"Get help!"

“Oh no.” The whisper slipped out of Quin’s mouth when he heard the shout from the stormtrooper. The screams of blaster bolts came soon afterwards, and the only thought in his mind was about how he had to get Ruzaan and Elidan out of there. He could feel their presence in the hall, and right now, they were the only ones that mattered. Whether or not Laeonas would think that this was a good idea or not, he would go ahead with it.

His mind clouded with nothing but desperation, Quin stepped out from behind the safety of the corner and extended both his arms, reaching out with the Force toward Elidan and Ruzaan. His utter terror for his friends somehow made him feel both their presences with a sharp clarity, and soon he had wrapped both of them in the Force. When he felt that he had a solid grip, he clenched his fists and drew his arms back, bringing Ruzaan and Elidan with them. He didn’t even notice the blaster bolts flying past him. Yet, perhaps the stormtroopers couldn’t aim, the Force was with him, or through sheer luck, he somehow managed to drag them back to the corner and get all three of them out of the line of fire.

When they were in a relatively safe position behind the wall, Quin released his Force grip on his friends and got to a knee beside them. This is not the time for this! he tried to tell himself as he did it, but he had to make sure they were stable before he could do anything else.

“Ruzaan? Elidan? Can you hear me?”

The man would watch, and it wouldn't be long before his worry was replaced with genuine horror. He might've moved immediately, had the scene that played out not be one of such callous brutality. Aquamarines were widened as the two padawans-- the two boys, were gunned down without a second thought. He watched as Ruzaan rasped out for help, as Elidan mutely fell as his fingers were destroyed.

He was struck with the most terrible case of Deja vu. Images of police raids on gang hideouts, boys and girls, young and old gunned down. Not for their crimes, no no-- but for their bosses' lack of payment to the precinct office to do nothing. He'd watched, sometimes felt the brutal reprisals of the law. The breaking of his bones, searing of his flesh. Now he watched that same scene happen again, to two boys-- who'd committed no crimes, who'd joined no gangs, who, more than anyone else, didn't deserve what was happening.

His vision was clouded, a red haze at the edge as the force flew from him. An ear piercing, blood curdling scream ripped through the man's throat as he ran forward. The two nearest troopers were hit square in the chest, thrown back and disoriented. The purge trooper, standing with his staff raised to crush Ruz's skull had barely turned his head when Laeonas' vibrosword cut across his chest. He staggered back, the superficial wound being just that-- and he immediately brought the staff up to stop the blow that would've bisected him from brains to balls.

"YA EVIL FUCKIN' BASTARDS!" Screeched the Brentaalan, aquamarines bloodshot as he tried to break through the trooper's defenses. He'd had thoughts about capture, about interrogation. Those thoughts had been shattered the moment Ruz and Elidan's bodies hit the ground. Noone-- noone harmed fellow Jedi. Noone harmed people who were barely more than children. Not unless they were ready to bring down a furious Brentaalan who had no qualms with orphaning the children and widowing the spouses of the monsters who'd do such a thing.

Either these men died, or he would.

When he agreed with Ruzaan’s plan, Elidan had believed that it was going to work. After all, he trusted in the Togruta. During their investigation in Yavin IV, his ideas proved to be good for them to discover clues. There was no reason for the half-Annfyn to fear anything. Even if it didn’t work, his friend would still be there to help him.

However, everything went wrong when the two appeared in front of the Stormtroopers. Ruzaan didn’t even start to scream for help when the Imperials opened fire against them. Elidan tried to take cover, but a shot hit his left hand making him feel so much pain that he completely lost the notion of what was happening around him.

He heard the sound of others shots, but his mind didn’t register that they had hit Ruz. By this point Elidan had let go of the Togruta and kneeled on the floor. He was holding what remained of his left hand while tears rolled down his cheeks. His hand was destroyed and it was all due to this stupid plan. His friend was going to hear from him later.

The half-Annfyn was so distracted by the pain on his hand that he didn’t even notice Quin moving them out of the firing range of the stormtroopers and how Laeonas was attacking the Imperials. Elidan only curled in a ball and continued crying, hoping that the pain on his hand would pass soon.

The purge trooper reacted badly to Quin using the Force to pull the two injured Jedi out of the way of his rampage, growing as he tried to storm forward to continue his attack. Behind him the two regular troopers readied their aim as more enemies appeared and made ready to be just as effective as they had been before.

Unfortunately for them, Laeonas was surprising.

Not only in that his shout was actually distracting but his Push flew through the hall with enough strength to rock them in place, throwing off their aim as they tried. The same Push momentarily distracted the purge trooper, allowing Laeonas' first strike to land somewhat against him before he could muster a proper defense.

"Damn you, traitorous whelp!"

With his vibrostaff, the purge trooper would attempt a swing up from the bottom, aiming to strike Laeonas in the right knee. Such a weapon would cause untold disorientation and pain upon even brief contact - hence it's use as an anti-Jedi weapon.

"The Galaxy will soon be rid of you!"
