The nurse pushed passed, clearly over dealing with her stubborn patient. Nick, not wanting to get caught in the nurse's wrath, quickly moved aside and let her pass. He stepped inside, seeing Thalia scramble to escape. When she saw him, she scrambled to pull the back of the hospital gown closed which made Nick laugh, a real laugh. It felt good to be passed this thing.

He crossed his arm. "Get back in bad." he said in a tone as if he was dealing with a child. "You won't make it 10 feet out the door in your condition." he said taking another step in the room and taking a seat.

"I'd threaten to handcuff you to bed, but you managed to break mine. I guess we can just deduct that from your pay."
he said pulling out a bag of credits from inside his jacket. "5000 credits for providing information that led to the arrest of a wanted criminal." he said, before putting the bag back in his pocket. "And you will get these when you are discharged from the hospital." he said with a grin.

"I also had the crime scene team set aside anything that resembled a relic. We can go recover yours after you get out of here." he offered as he looked back up at her.

She narrowed her eyes, "I am perfectly..." she paused feeling the room wobble and she closed her eyes, waiting for it to pass. Her instincts told her the only safe thing to do was to keep moving, but nothing really prepared her for something like this.

"Fine..." she sighed knowing he was right, "I would make it eleven feet." she pointed and then set down her clothes back on the chair. He threatened to cuff her again but reminded how she broke his cuffs from earlier and Thalia smiled, though she wasn't sure if she was smiling from his cuffs comment, or the fact he just pulled five thousand credits from his pocket. Maybe it was both.

The terms and conditions though included she followed the doctor's orders and get back into the bed. Thalia scowled and sat down on the edge of the bed, watching Nick from his chair in the corner of the room.

"So you did get that worm?" Thalia smiled as he told her they set aside any recovered relics for her to see if the item was in Roz's possession. She let out a long sigh, seemingly satisfied at the thought. Thalia slid back, letting the headboard of the bed prop her up, "You think she'll get out though? I'm sure she has buried assets and favors somewhere...you'll be the first she goes after if she ever leaves. Or she'll send someone outside to get you while she is on the inside." Thalia frowned.

"You should have probably picked better enemies, Officer Nick." she gave him a serious look, trying to keep herself from grinning at her jest.

"We did." he said with a nod. "It definitely will put a damper on crimes in the district for a while the various players fight with one another." he continued.

He listened to her concerns, they were valid, and always a potential for anyone in Law Enforcement. "I suppose its possible. We are moving her off-world, away from her power base, so that should make things much more difficult for her," he said with a shrug.

"Usually I am told I should choose my friends more carefully. " he said with a grin.

His face grew a bit more serious, and maybe a bit uncomfortable. "Look." he said as he looked down at the floor. "I came by to say thanks. None of this would have been possible without you." he admitted. He wasn't good at these sorts of things, and it clearly made him uncomfortable.

He pulled two cards out of a jacket pocket. "Here, take these." he said placing the cards on the table next to her bed. "One is my card. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call. I owe you one." he said as he placed the second card down. "This is for a Sector Ranger recruiter I know. She could help get you started if you were looking for work. The pay is shit but you get to do some good. Anyways, just give it some thought." he said. They were always on the lookout for new recruits. It wasn't an easy path to take but there was some potential there.

"Well, you should get some rest."
he said as he stood. "Let me know if you need anything." he said as he started to leave.

He did not seemed concerned about acquiring enemies and Thalia seemed satisfied with his response, not pushing it further. However, when he mentioned being warned about choosing friends more quickly, she starred at him with puzzlement, as though her brain was taking longer to process what exactly it was he was trying to communicate. The gears were clearly turning too slowly, she blamed the hit in the head and decided to let that thought go. Most certain she would probably not even recall this conversation, she was having a hard just remembering the moments prior to when the speeder crashed.

Nick's tone then turned more serious as he thanked for the help Thalia had loaned him. As much as Nick was not used to such conversations, Thalia was not used to receiving such compliments. She was generally on the defense of grievances, wanting to already defend herself, but all she felt was the discomfort of unfamiliarity. Nervously, she glanced down at her hands, picking at the dirt under her thumb nail, mumbling something about not being a big deal. She looked up when he stood and walked over to her bed, handing her two cards, one with his name and another of a recruiter.

Thalia looked carefully at both of them and nodded before setting them aside. The nurse who had been fighting with Thalia prior had returned and the girl frowned, looking back at Nick, who offered to let her get some rest.

"Thank you, Nick." Thalia smiled, "Just don't forget to leave the credits." her grin widened.
