As the rain fell hard, J’ai Uhndhalla stood beneath an awning outside of his tiny home on Coruscant. It wasn’t much to speak of, but it gave him a safe place to rest his head. Stepping through the threshold, he removes his duster and tosses it on a chair sitting by the one table he owned. Table, chair, bed. J’ai kept things simple in the even of having to torch the place and run. His ties with the Five Syndicates were coming to their end. Sighing as he sits on the side of his bed, J’ai strips off his durasteel chest plate and set his A-180 blaster next to the bed. “Well then, back at it tomorrow,” he says as he lays back and rolls to his side.
But something was off. He could smell it in the air. It was almost as though he wasn’t alone. J’ai sits up quickly, only to be met with a figure in the dark.
“J’ai Uhndhalla?” The shape asked, as if he was confirming he had the right person, as if J’ai was a bounty.
“And if I happen to be?” J’ai replied, staring down where the eyes of the figure should have been.
“The Syndicates send their regards.”
J’ai’s eyes grew wide as he turned quickly and reached for his blaster, which was the only thing that saved his life. As he started to move - BLAST! The figure pulled the trigger of his blaster, shooting what should have been J’ai’s head, but clipped his shoulder. J’ai threw his body back to indicate he was dead and never moved during the night in case the figure was still there. The next morning, he had to leave.
