Ord Radama sat on the edges of Imperial Space, it was the closest a Sith could come to their old homeworld without being killed at first sight. It was an easy meeting place for Wodan to see an old friend off, in the hustle and bustle of the giant cities, both he and Carellion would blend into the crowd and apart from some perhaps tense engagements none would look twice at them.

The new Lord Commander had wondered if any of his friends who had chosen to side with the new ‘Darth Tempest’ would reach out, perhaps for clemency from the Imperial regime, or perhaps to try and win his loyalty. Wodan was unsure which of these, if any, had caused the Annfyn to reach out to him.

Wodan sat outside a simple food stall, a cold half-eaten lunch sat on the table in front of him. He was casually dressed like any other traveller walking about the great city. Although underneath his jacket were a pair of Imperial legal lightsaber’s, one he found and one he had recently created back on Raxus in the new Imperial Knights redoubt. A thick head wrap covered the left side of his face obscuring all of the scarring from view of the passing public.

While he walked toward the meeting place, Caerllion thought about everything that had happened in these past weeks. The Sith being expelled from the Empire, Vahliri becoming the Dark Lord of the Sith and the fact that Wodan decided to join the joke that were the Imperial Knights.

He couldn’t understand why his friend had decided to submit to that, since he always seemed to be ambitious. It was among the things that he wanted to ask to the Firrerreo. However, this meeting was a risk for him.

Even though he had chosen a neutral planet for this meeting, the Annfyn was very aware that seeing the other was a risk, because he wasn’t sure if the other didn’t want to capture him. Caerllion didn’t know if the other was going to have his lightsaber, but he suspected that Wodan would have. If he was at the Firrerreo’s place, he would have.

The Annfyn arrived at the meeting place, a food stall, dressed completely different from his normal style. His hair was dyed blue and he was wearing common clothes, while sunglasses covered his eyes with green lenses. He recognized his friend due to the bandages covering his face. An injury that the other received after the catastrophic invasion of Corellian.

Hello.” Caerllion said, before sitting next to the Firrerreo in the table. “What do you indicate?” he asked, while looking at the menu.

Wodan didn’t recognise Caerllion at first, his elaborate costume was both very not Caerllion but also very Caerllion at the same time. Others would have just worn some casual clothes to blend into the crowd, but the blue hair and large green lens sunglasses stood out amongst the seas of browns and beiges most people wore. Wodan gave the man a smile as he sat opposite him, before rolling his eyes at his comment.

“Really.” He said, putting down the can of Emryc Energy he was drinking. “After all this time, ‘What do you indicate?’ is the only thing you can say.” Wodan continued, annoyance evident in his voice.

The Annfyn needed to agree with Wodan. ‘What do you indicate’ was really a terrible way of starting a conversation. “Sorry.” he muttered, while slowly sitting. “I was trying to remain in character.” at the moment he was with the fake ID of a tourist, so he wanted to maintain that persona. However, he could still have said something better.

How are you?” he tried again, this time looking sadly at Wodan’s face. The Annfyn still remembers how his friend was before losing his eye. “I should have been here after it happened.” when the invasion of Corellia failed, Caerllion was deeply involved in his studies of magick and alchemy. Due to it, he only received the news about the Firrerreo late.

However, the Champion wasn’t sure if he would have stopped his studies to run to help the other. Increasing his knowledge about the Dark Side would give him more power as a Sith and it was important, but wasn’t their friendship also important?

We never talked after that happened. When we were summoned, I thought that you would have been here with the rest. I even thought that it had been you who sent the message.” at the time, Caerllion had the small hope that it would have been Wodan the one to take the title of Dark Lord of Sith. The Firrerreo was always ambitious and courageous, perhaps it was because of it that he had developed some feelings for the other. However, now the other man seemed to be so diminished.

He rolled his eyes as Caerllion spoke about staying in character. There were a million planets and trillions of people in the galaxy, the Empire and its Sith hating fanatics couldn’t keep an eye on all of them. Plus they were on an independent planet, even if they were being spied on they could do nothing here. “Well your character sucks and yes you should have.” He replied, the annoyance in his voice hanging around.

Part of the reason Wodan followed Altair as he had been the only one to reach out to him after Corellia to see him in the hospital bed, skin scored, blood and pus oozing from the wounds of his foolish charge.

“Everything moved quickly after Corellia and I am sure you were busy.” He said, trying to move past the annoyance of being deserted, it was a different galaxy now, a lot had changed. Wodan chuckled when Carellion mentioned that he may have made the call, perhaps he would have been in a place to challenge Vahliri if he had aligned himself with the Sith Order. But the dangingling fruit of the title of Dark Lord, didn’t outweigh the reasons he stayed.

“No, I had already made my decision when Vahliri reached out to the Old Order members. Did you go?” He asked, wondering if Caerllion had been made to walk under the yoke as many others had.

Caerllion remained in silence when Wodan said that the Annfyn was busy to see him after what happened with the Firrerreo in Corellia. He felt as if he had received a punch in the stomach, because he knew that his friend was mad because of it. At the same time, he didn’t regret having chosen to give priority to his studies about the Dark Side.

Yes, I was here.” the Annfyn nodded, not wanting to remember the details of that day. The shame of bowing to the hybrid was smaller than the one of needing to be escorted out of the planet like a criminal. It made him hate the Empire even more. “I left my weapon here.” he confirmed what the others probably already know.

I thought that it would be bad, but I don’t miss it.” without the lightsaber, Caerllion felt that his creativity was unlocked. Now he needed to find ways of using the Force as a weapon, rather than relying on a glowing stick.

An awkward silence would fall between them, until the Annfyn remembered something. “Before everything happened, I heard that you had become a Master.” he said, before putting his hand inside the coat that he was wearing and pulling a small box. Caerllion carefully placed it in the table between them and opened it, revealing a brooch with a white pearl. "I was going to give you it as a gift for your promotion."

It isn’t cursed and doesn't have some spy device.” the Annfyn was being sincere, he wasn’t going to betray the other during this meeting. He wondered if he would even be capable of doing it at some point. Yes, you will. A dark part of his mind whispered. “I chose the pearl because of what you said to me when we were only Acolytes. The Galaxy was going to be our oyster. Do you remember that?” he smiled at the Firrerreo, remembering fondly of that mission that they went after Palpatine’s shard.

In my case, I think that the oyster ended up being a prison.” he chuckled without any humor. While he didn’t want to give up being a Sith, the Annfyn also saw that even if he wanted he wasn’t going to be able to do it. The teachings of the Order about the Dark Side had become a drug for him, one that he would never survive without.

He pushed the box closer to the Firrerreo. “You can throw it in the trash, but I don’t want to continue carrying it with me.

He took a sip of his drink as Caerllion confirmed he had gone to Junction, it was a foolish mistake for the Annfyn to go, to be honest it was foolish for Valhiri to call the meeting in Sith space to begin with. But he kept his comments to himself as Caerllion continued about his missing lightsaber, Wodan had no doubt the Sith wouldn’t be weaponless for long there were enough worlds throughout the Galaxy which had ample supply of Kyber Crystals for the Sith to break.

The pearl brooch was a surprise, one evident on the Firrerrian’s scared face. Leaning forward, Wodan took the item from Caerllion’s grasp and looked it over. It was a thing of great craftsmanship and skill that was for sure. Turning it in his hand the pearl caught the light of the sun glinting off its surface. Wodan let out a little chuckle when Caerllion mentioned his earlier comment, that had been a lifetime ago, in a very different Galaxy.

His eyes flipped up as Caerllion mentioned a prison, Wodan wasn’t sure if he should pry or if he wanted to? As much as he cared about his friend, they were now on two sides of a very divided Galaxy and having too much attachment to him was only going to end badly for both of them. The ISB were on the hunt for any inclination of treachery, that is why he placed the brooch back down on the table.

“Thank you, it is a beautiful gift. But, I cannot take it, not because I don’t want to. But because I am afraid it will be taken from me by the ISB, they still do not trust me or any of the Knights and I cannot let such a beautiful and thoughtful gift end up in their clutches.” He pushed the small box across the table to his friend with a genuine smile on his face. “Keep it, one day once this all blows over you can give it to me then.”

For the first time in a long time, Caerllion was nervous like a teenager. Wodan was looking at the brooch and the Annfyn had no idea about what the Firrerreo was going to do. He was sure that, given the recent events, the other would refuse it. However, the Champion had a small hope that the other would accept.

Due to that, Caerllion couldn’t say that he wasn’t a bit disappointed when the Firrerreo indeed refused his gift. “I understand.” the Annfyn said, while moving his right hand to pick the brooch. Even if brief, the moment would be enough for Wodan to see the scar on the Annfyn’s palm. The mark of his mission in Elrood.

Then, I’ll guard it. Perhaps someday I’ll be able to give it to you.” he wasn’t so sure if it would be possible. The things between the Empire and the Sith would never be the same again. However, it was the best that he could do at the moment.

An unpleasant silence fell between them. In the past it had been so easy for him to talk with Wodan, but now he was walking over eggshells. “Are you still running after Arla?” Caerllion asked suddenly, in an attempt to continue the conversation. “You said to me that you wanted to participate in more missions with her.
