Feeling his hand slapped away came to no surprise, he almost expected it; but what came next he could have never predicted. The snap that the crushgaunts was a sickening sound, filling the still air with what some would call a terrifying sound. Dak would merely stand in place, watching as Vincent called out to the men of what misfortunes lay ahead. Looking down at the writhing Kaz, he almost felt bad for the man; he was broken. If it wasn't this day, it would be soon he felt; he was embarrassed as well as beaten, a bad combination.

Walking behind Vincent he nearly felt out of place, no shackles, no guards, walking freely behind the leader of the "enemy." His thoughts dwell on leaping the man, strangling him if he could before the others could pull him off. Something in the pit of his gut said he'd never get that far. Not to mention it wasn't quite in Dak's nature to hit a man in his back. As they went into the barracks the thoughts and feelings had dissipated, taking his seat where the Taung instructed. The speech that followed was a shocking one, and one he felt he had to think on.

"..Go back to the Republic you idiot..!"

They'd left him there to die, his only friends were unit that was wiped out by the very man standing before him. That was another reason he was questioning why he hadn't stood and asked to leave, was this guy really an ally?

"..You say Republic, he'll just put a bullet in your head now..."

That was the second thought pushed into his mind, and it was a pretty damn good thought. Why would they waste fuel and cargo to drop off a POW that killed 2 of their men and nearly took out a third? Honor? He nearly laughed at the thought, but managed to stop himself as to not disrespect the leader before him. The challenge he put before him did interest him, why? Then again, he didn't really have anything in the Republic to go back to...

"I..uhh--"

He scratched his head as he thought about it for only a second longer, the brief pause he'd taken after the man's options had been far shorter than he thought it would've been.

"..They abandoned me here, served those bastards for almost 12 years..."

The thought made him sick, they didn't even radio any further intel after leaving them for dead. It wasn't the Taung's fault for his unit's being taken out, it was the Republics for leaving them behind.

"I'd accept your offer.. to remain here.."

He paused only briefly.

"Kaz, let him see the Medical staff.. he's arrogant, Sir... But useless if his wounds aren't taken care of."

Deep down he didn't care if the man lived or died, but perhaps getting the idiot serviced would get him some respect within the ranks of these fearful warriors.

Vincent smiled as Dak accepted his offer to stay with the Mandalorians. He realized how terrible the Republic was, the cowardly bastards leaving a veteran of twelve years and his squad behind was just pathetic. Vin rolled his shoulders and tapped a button on the wall, another cot springing out of the wall not far from where Dak sat.

"Excellent. That'll be your bed, they'll bitch and complain if I give you personal quarters. No worries, it's the same as mine."

The former medic mentioned letting Kaz see the doctor. He really did have a thing for stopping injury and preserving life, rare traits.

"Yeah, I'll let knucklehead see him later, he'll be suffering a day or two though, get the point across. You won't have access to training from the drill sergeants, but I'll be retraining you myself. I doubt the Republic taught you anything of honor and little in the way of melee weapon combat. Your basic weapon skill was good, but our training will only improve that. I'll break you down to build you back up. If you can handle it that is."
